Disclaimer : I do not own the characters in this story. Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len, Megurine Luka belong to Crypton Future Media. I only referenced the names of the producer Umetora and the workers of Crypton Future Media.

Miku put her hand over her eyes as she reached for her buzzing phone. After a minute of useless groping on the bedside table, her phone buzzing all the way, Miku huffed in exasperation. Why was this guy so persistent? Wasn't today a holiday? Who had the nerve to call her at this time of day? Miku finally peeked through the cracks in her fingers. The sunlight spilling through their window made the teal-haired idol narrow her eyes. It took a few moments for Miku to adjust to the bright light. Luka's arm tightened on her waist, her head buried in the crook of Miku's neck. Miku could have stopped to coo at how adorable her girlfriend was being, yet the screen that flickered with 'unknown number' left no decision for her. That was usually Crypton.

Miku grabbed her phone and spoke in a clipped tone, "This is Hatsune Miku. Please tell me you have a good reason for calling me on my day off."

Miku made sure to keep her volume at a low level so as not to disturb her sleeping girlfriend. However, the threatening hiss and hatred seeping into her every word made the idol's intentions completely clear.

Her manager – Wat – nervously laughed. This wasn't the first time Miku threw a tantrum and he was very sure he was provoking another one right this moment. Little did Miku's fans know, behind the curtain of a sweet and peppy idol, Miku was prone to throwing the worst tantrums – like a princess, if you will. Thankfully, Wat had only witnessed two of these. The first was when he asked Miku to fake a relationship with Kaito for the press, the second was when photos of Miku and Luka were leaked to the press. Needless to say, that resulted in almost everything in his office being destroyed. Since then, he learned to keep his belongings light.

He quickly spoke before Miku decided to storm and wreck his office again, "This is about your work and Luka too."

"I'm listening."

Wat let out a silent sigh of relief. If there was nothing else to appeal to, Miku's passion for her work and her girlfriend did the trick, "There's a new producer that asked to work with you, Luka, Rin, Gumi and Aria. He wants to work with all of you on a regular basis. We've thought up a plausible deal but you need to come sign it. Rin's on her way. This'll only take a couple of hours max."

Silence from the other end.

Wat offered again, "You and Luka can take another day off."

"Alright. Give us an hour."

A click signaled the end of their call.

A glance to the clock showed they still had five minutes. Miku restrained the urge to chuck the phone away and settled for carelessly setting it back on her bedside table. Miku returned her attention to her much more deserving girlfriend. Amazingly, Luka was still deep in dreamland. Miku sighed at the blissfully unaware girl in her arms, a tender smile on her lips. The sun rose higher and the angle of the light shifted, directly enveloping Luka in a gentle halo of light. Miku's breath left her for a split second. Would it be normal to proclaim Luka was the single most beautiful sight on the planet? Miku needed to document this moment and herald it to their future children, probably. Miku reached for her phone yet again. While her back was turned for simply one second, Luka snuggled into her side, her face buried into Miku's nightshirt. It should be illegal to be this adorable, damn it! Miku snapped the photo.

A soft whine sounded from Luka as she felt Miku shift in bed. Miku kept a hand running through Luka's cotton candy pink hair to soothe the girl in her arms. Luka let out another sigh, the faint puff of air tickling Miku enough for her fond smile to grow into a toothy grin. Miku waited a few moments longer before unwillingly shaking her sleeping beauty from her slumber.

Miku cooed gently, "Hey sweetheart, it's time to wake up."

Bleary ocean blue eyes opened for a fraction of a second, then abruptly closed again. Luka mumbled, "Too bright…five more minutes…"

Miku should have expected that, should have gotten used to it. After all, Luka wasn't a morning person, despite appearances. But Luka had no right to be so endearing while she was essentially lazing in bed. Miku knew she had to suppress the part of her brain that either cooed, melted, or squealed at everything Luka did. They'd never be able to get to work if she didn't.

Miku shook Luka's shoulder, a more serious tone to her voice now, "Luka, we have no time, love. We've got a meeting soon."

Luka's brows furrowed, a sign that Luka definitely heard her. Miku gave her a few more seconds for the words to sink in. The prospect of work hammered in the fact that there was no room for debate. Luka's eyes fluttered open again, "Mmpf."

Miku's grin only grew wider, "Get up now. We need to get dressed."

Luka used Miku's lap as leverage to sit herself up, "Didn't we have a day off?"

Miku explained, "Manager called us for a meeting. It's only for a few hours and he promised to give us another break."

Luka frowned, a pout forming on her lips. Miku couldn't help giggling at the rather childish side of her girlfriend that only she got to see. Miku pressed in for a light kiss, "We'll have our time together, I promise."

Luka's arm wound around Miku before she could pull away. Luka's blue eyes sparkled as the beginnings of a smirk tugged at her lips, a playful, sultry tone to her voice, "I'll hold you to it."

Miku's face quickly blossomed into a lovely shade of red. Luka swiftly reduced the distance between them, pressing their foreheads together, their lips tantalizingly close. Miku could barely see anything beyond those oceanic pools Luka called eyes and the soft pink messy bangs that framed them. Miku could even feel her sweet breath on her skin and her eyes darted toward those pink lips. Dammit. Luka's grip was firm, there was no way Miku was wriggling out of this – not that Miku really wanted to, anyway. Luka's cool fingers brushed the back of Miku's neck. Miku suppressed the soft moan that threatened to escape from her chest.

Damn her gorgeous girlfriend. Somehow, Miku found herself straddling her girlfriend, whether from Luka's hold on her or because Miku was now intensely riled up, she didn't know. Luka giggled, that tinkering, melodic tone falling from her lips. With their breaths merging into one, the in-sync rise and fall of their chests, just looking at the beauty so close in front of them, both felt the taunt string of reality snap. Neither knew who made the first move, they only cared about the sensation of their lips joining, the tender motion quickly growing into something more rough, heat underneath their skin blooming. But the barrier wasn't quite broken yet. After a few moments of more hesitant kissing, Miku licked Luka's bottom lip, begging for access. Luka complied, though with their battle for dominance it seemed as if Luka had asked instead of Miku.

Being professional singers, they both had great lung capacities. This was an unexpected benefit from their career, which Miku and Luka benefited wholeheartedly from. Yet, however long they kissed, it never seemed enough. When they finally separated for lack of oxygen, their hands never strayed from each other. Luka's hands loosely hung at Miku's sides, resuming her action of pressing their foreheads together amidst the heavy breathing. Miku stroked Luka's cheek, the warm flushed skin beneath her fingers just teasing her further of what could happen. Luka positively glowed, leaning into the touch. Miku again wondered how someone so mature could be so cute. Then Miku caught sight of the clock, "Crap, we're gonna be late!"

Wat was discussing things over with Rin when the door to his office shuddered ominously. Wat could swear the huge oak door was on the verge of imploding when it swung wide open, slamming into the white wall of his office. Wat cringed at the bang, yet he wasn't at all surprised when his leading star, the darling daughter of Japan and the recognized Number One Princess in the World, Hatsune Miku emerged through the door, her equally talented girlfriend and one of the few adult idols to skyrocket to fame, Megurine Luka, in tow.

Wat said evenly, "Hello girls. You're…" He checked his watch, "Just on time."

Once upon a time, the sudden appearance might have given Wat a heart attack. But he had grown and learned, perhaps the hard way, but he had learned. Miku was free to come and go as she pleased, "Come, tidy yourselves up and we'll start the talks."

Miku's teal twintails were hastily tied up, strands of teal hair peaking from black hair ribbons. Even in her black hoodie and jeans, the teal hair gave the star away to hordes of fans and reporters that swarmed them. Miku groaned as she fully pulled down her hoodie, using her fingers to comb through her long strands of teal hair, "Damn paparazzi."

Compared to her girlfriend, Luka was much more composed. Luka's signature long pink hair was tied up in a ponytail, a crisp white shirt and jeans her preferred work outfit. By some sort of magic, there wasn't even a ruffle on her clothes, even though Luka ran all the way with Miku.

Miku noticed this, of course. Miku grumbled underneath her breath, "How the hell can you even look so perfect? You were the one who woke up late!"

Luka teased, "And you were the one who tried to pin me to the bed."

Luka walked Miku to the sofa, sitting her down, "Come on, let me help tidy you up."

Miku obediently undid her black hair ribbons, letting long waves of shimmering teal fall to her knees. Luka reverently ran her hand through the mess of teal hair, smoothing it out and indulging herself simultaneously. Miku let out a tiny purr. It always felt so good when Luka did it. In no time at all, Luka straightened her hair out, pulling Miku's hair into a much tidier version of the teal twintails she entered the room in. Luka also straightened Miku's hoodie for good measure. Miku chirped happily, linking their hands together, "Thanks Luka!"

Luka kissed Miku's cheek, "I'm your girlfriend, aren't I?"

Rin called out to them, "Earth to two useless girlfriends, we actually have work. I don't want to be stuck in the recording booth all day because you two are too busy making lovesick puppy eyes at each other."

Miku stuck her tongue out at her best friend, "Hey, Wat said I needed to tidy up. Luka just helped me out. Get your own girlfriend so you don't have to stare at us."

Rin spluttered, choking on her morning dose of orange juice. Rin said, "How do you know I swing that way?"

Miku raised an eyebrow, disbelief lacing her voice, "You don't?"

Luka said nonchalantly, "My apologies, I thought you were with Gumi. I suppose the threat I sent her truly wasn't needed then."

"Wait what?"

"Do you think I'd let anyone date someone I considered an intimate friend of mine, without full scrutiny and knowledge of the consequences of breaking said friend's heart?"

Rin's mouth dropped. Miku nodded approvingly, "I read it over. It's a good threat, Luka was very polite and to the point."

Wat coughed politely, bringing them out of their reverie, "Girls, although I do not mind you discussing your private lives within the company, can you do it after our meeting?"

Miku directed a cold glare at him. Wat involuntarily wilted inside. Alright, so Miku hadn't forgiven him yet.

Luka and Miku took her places next to Rin, Miku pointedly cuddling with Luka. Well, they could start with this important deal at the very least, though this might well cost his life sometime down the line.

Wat steeled himself, "All three of you were requested by the producer Umetora to work on a group song. You have worked with him on multiple occasions before."

The trio nodded.

So far so good. Time for the harder part.

"You will be working with singers from different companies on this project, namely Gumi from Internet and Aria from 1st Place. This will be a long term project and you will be working with him frequently in between your solo careers in the near future. He wishes to form a girl group under the name Divine Diva with all of you. Given that the five of you are the most sought after artists and top the charts with new releases, we believe it is in our best interests of the company, and your careers to work with him. The contract specifies that you will work under the name for Divine Diva for at least five years. Renewal of the contract with Umetora depends on your success."

Nothing yet, which was good. That wasn't surprising, as they have worked with others in the past.

Time for the red zone.

"Some of the songs produced under this name will be explicit. The songs may be adult and sexually appealing. The performance routines will also take advantage of it to craft your appearance as a mature artist. You have to be willing to record, dance to and perform the songs put under the name Divine Diva."

Surprisingly, Luka looked to be the first to hold an objection. Luka was possibly the most experienced of them in such a genre, if she didn't want to do it, Wat could pretty much loose hope in the other two trying it out. Luka's ocean blue eyes narrowed but she allowed him to continue, much to Wat's relief.

"As you know, especially for you, Miku, we need you to transition to a more mature appearance in the public eye…"

Miku cut in, "I already did enough Wat. Romeo and Cinderella and Magnet were both hits. I'm pretty sure I got rid of my innocent image a while ago."

"Yes," Wat pushed his glasses up, "But Rin hasn't. Since Rin has turned eighteen, we need to consider changing her image. We don't need to worry about Len…"

The unspoken words hung in the air. Rin's twin brother derailed his innocent boyish image not two days after turning eighteen. To put it, he was infamous in their profession for accepting all manner of suggestive songs in recent months. Len's latest slew of songs included Spice, Gigantic OTN among others. Luka grimaced while Miku pulled a face. Miku was still adverse about using the word gigantic since hearing the song. Rin only nodded seriously.

"We're trying to make the transition less jarring for Rin and a group effort seems to be the better way to do it. Luka, as you'll be the eldest in the group, can lead them. Miku can cement her status as a mature artist and Rin can finally start showcasing herself as a woman."

The presentation over, Wat nervously looked to all three of them. They were all headstrong characters passionate about their work – the reason why the company signed them in the first place. If even one of them disagreed, they were going to have a hell of a time convincing them.

Luka elegantly posed a question, not at all hindered by Miku clinging like a koala to her, "Will all of us be heavily sexualized?"

Not that it was a problem for Luka herself. Out of the six stars from Crypton, Luka was the most frequently pushed for the mature image of the company. Starting her career at the age of twenty, with her incredibly feminine body, the occasional modeling gigs, Luka was pretty certain sexualizing her was in the contract. For Rin however, Luka was more than a little worried.

"In the context of the songs provided, that is very likely."

Luka's eyes darkened, becoming icy glints of frost, "Rin's just become of age. There's no hurry for this! Besides, we have to consider the backlash Rin will receive once she takes such a drastic decision. Rin may be looked on as desperate for attention because of the sudden switch in styles…"

Wat said sharply, not wanting Luka to gain such a heavy negative influence over Rin's choice, "Every artist has to transition some time or later. It is best for Rin for deal with it head on. This is precisely why we suggested you debut as a group. It will lower the negative impact…"

Miku added, "With us to take the attention. Luka's always been the mature figure of the group and you want to capitalize on the fact. If anything, Luka can take the brunt of the attacks, say that the company's intention was to promote Luka, not Rin. I'm Japan's darling sweetheart who can do no wrong in the public eye. My fans will rush to my defense and similarly Rin's."

Listening to Miku's shrewd observations from being in the industry was a scary treat for all involved. Under the peppy exterior, Miku was the one who knew most about how everything worked, being the first signed onto the Character Vocal series.

Miku leaned back in her chair, lying her head on Luka's shoulder with an expression of indifference, "I expected as much. Magnet was originally supposed to be a publicity stunt anyway. You were testing the waters with me and Luka – and Kaito to see who I clicked with – and you're doing the same with Rin. You're making sure there's enough room to backpedal. I don't have a problem with that. It's Rin's choice."

Rin said confidently, "I'll do it."

"That's good, now if you all could sign here…"

Luka was still very obviously displeased. Miku could tell from Luka's stiff stance, the way her shoulders were straightened, her taut muscles. Miku gently took Luka's hand in hers, whispering in her ear, "Luka, what's wrong?"

Luka pursed her lips, her gaze settling on Wat, "May I share a moment with Miku and Rin alone?"

"I don't think such a thing is required."

"Then I won't do it."

Luka glowered at him. Though they were all seated down, Luka looked far more regal and imposing, daring Wat to press on. Miku's gaze hardened, "Wat, you have to convince all of us this is going to work. Leave us alone for a bit."

Wat relented, "Half an hour."

He left the room.

Luka gripped Miku's hand tightly as Wat stalked to the door. Once they were alone in the room, Luka released Miku's hand, wrapping her arms around her abdomen. Luka's gaze returned to the floor, the way she only got when she was defensive. Luka bit down on her lip, her face a stone cold mask. Rin and Miku only sat in silence, letting Luka take her time.

"Luka?" Miku prodded after a moment, worry evident in her teal eyes.

Luka tugged on her shirt cuffs, before covering her face with her hands, "I'm sorry, I'm not used to sharing this."

"Don't worry, take your time."

Luka had always been the most reserved of their little group, forcing her to share did no good. Having her willing to talk was rare at best, almost nonexistent to most.

Luka huffed a bit, taking a few deep breaths before she spoke in a low, very controlled voice, "I remember the names I was called when I first debuted. The negative feedback from my family did nothing to alleviate it. I had few friends to turn to. I…almost regretted starting my career."

With only a few words, Luka, who barely even showcased the barest of her emotions shed a new light on everything she faced alone. Miku knew Luka loved singing more than anything. All three of them did. To sever their love for singing was almost unimaginable. Miku remembered how the pinkette seemed more like a fleeting spirit in the company than a person, how they all tried to approach her, to breach the invisible wall Luka structured around herself. Miku could only imagine the pain she went through alone.

Luka's knuckles were white from digging her fingers into her palm in a fist. Miku ran her thumb lightly over the back of Luka's hand in an effort to relax her. Luka continued, somewhat more brokenly than before, "And Miku came to me crying after Magnet debuted. Some comments were downright cruel and the hatred was completely undeserved. I wished we hadn't done it in the beginning. I tried to keep my distance again. I want to make sure you know what you're getting into, Rin."

Miku took Luka in her arms, firmly stating, "You need a hug."

Rin grinned, "I second that, group hug!"

Their idea of a group hug was Luka sandwiched between the two younger girls. Two pairs of arms were glued around Luka's torso. Miku, having initially pulled Luka in, had Luka's head resting on her shoulder. Rin was pressed against Luka's back, arms tightly holding onto Luka's waist, hands resting on Miku's. Luka nuzzled into Miku's neck, slightly arching her back to let Rin know she appreciated the gesture. Miku giggled, pleased with herself, "And you said you didn't like physical affection."

Luka mumbled, "I don't. It's barely passable when my friends do it."

"Barely?" Rin squeezed Luka's waist. Luka flinched but quickly eased into her arms again. Rin grinned widely, "You like it!"

Luka responded by burying her head into Miku's shoulder, so only a head of long pink hair was visible. Miku giggled again at her shy girlfriend, "Rin, don't tease Luka anymore. You know she doesn't take well to it."

Luka considered the steps she took in her life that led her to this moment. Luka sighed, it was very inevitable. Miku and Rin, technically her seniors in such an area, finally forced Luka into spending time with them. The two exceptionally friendly, younger girls took her under their wing in such an industry. And Luka responded in like by giving them life experiences and advice in dealing with relationships. And they somehow grew so close. The three CVs were now known to stick through thick and thin with each other.

Luka's voice was slightly muffled, "I'm sorry if I sound rather pessimistic."

Rin's voice was tender, switching from the teasing tone, "Thanks for being so worried for me Luka but I'm an adult now. Besides, I'm with you two."

Miku promised, "We're not going anywhere."

Wat knocked on the door of his office precisely thirty minutes later, anxiously waiting for the girls' answer.

"We'll do it."

Author's note : This is my first venture into publishing any work related to Vocaloid. This is more of a personal headcannon of mine that spiraled into a collection of fics. I'm pretty sure it's terrible but well...I've already written quite a bit of it. Please rate and review. The other characters will show up in the next chapter.
