'I... don't want to... die...'
These were my last words as my soul left Earth.
How did I die? I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn't do anything heroic, just stood there as someone shot me.
"Oh? A human? Here?" a deep voice said.
'H-help me...'"
It seems like your life ended far earlier than it should..." the voice remarked. "Very well. Your soul shall merge with another, just like yours."
'Thank you... Wait, what...?'
"I have found a similar soul. Good luck in Earthland, boy."
'W-wait!' I shouted, at least I think I did, 'I have so many... Earthland?!'
Of course, at that point, a bright light filled my vision.
I woke up with a start. I looked around myself. I was sleeping in a hammock. Everything looked poorly made, and it was messy. I felt something touch me. I look down. A cat. A sleeping blue cat was on my bare chest. Memories filled my vision and ingrained themselves to my mind.
A big red dragon was scolding me, pointing at weird symbols. Said dragon was also in another memory, breathing fire and melted a mountain. The most important of it all, was the scarf that the dragon gave me.
There were also memories of people. A really small geezer took me in his group, an annoying little boy who always stripped as if it were a habit, a meek little boy who looked buffer than me, a little girl who loved books. There was also this girl with white hair that I hung out with almost all the time, along with an orange-haired dude and the little blue cat. The nice girl's sister though, she was like a demon. She got into fights with a red-haired girl whom I wanted to fight but got K.O'ed instantly. The latest vision had a tense atmosphere, where everyone was older except the nice girl, she wasn't there. Then it hit me.
I, to my very best efforts, put the cat down gently, and went to find a mirror. When I found one, I was shocked to the core. Onyx orbs stared back at me. A red tattoo that resembled a fairy that had a tail was on my right shoulder. My teeth looked sharper, two of them more so than the rest. A gentle breeze made my now pink, spikey hair flow. And most importantly, a white scarf that resembled dragon scales rested on my shoulders.
I was Natsu Dragneel. And everything he'd done so far, it felt like I did them. And judging from the atmosphere of my last vision, Lisanna had just 'died.'
"Hm? It seems that Natsu's soul merged with another's." Oh gods, it's him. The red dragon in my —Natsu's— memories. The one who taught him magic. His surrogate father. Yes, it was the King of the Fire Dragons, Igneel.
'I, uh—'
"You do not need to explain, boy. I can see the memories of your past life, after all." Wait, wha— "Your soul had merged with Natsu's, so you're still my son. Just, well, less dense, for one." He just insulted his "son" with little hesitation?! What the hell?! But, he has a point. He's... my dad.
'That means, you've seen what happens. In the future, I mean.'
"I do."
'Then you also know that I will do everything in my power to change it, right?'
"I do. That is why we are going on a training trip, as you call it." I see, that makes sense. But I had two more questions before we hit the road.
'What about Happy?'
"It would be safer if you left him on that Mirajane girl's hands. Your training will be long and perilous."
'Only a year of training though, dad.' The word I called him felt right. The dragon hummed in agreement. I think.
'Hey dad,' I called out, "Are those FanFictions right? The ones that say that I/Natsu NEED a harem?'
There was silence as I waited patiently for his reply."Yes," he eventually said. "Only those taught by Dragon Kings are in dire need of one, and it's fine for those who have not."
Huh. I have a legitimate reason to have a harem. Go... me?
But still, a fire was ignited inside me. This, determination, to protect my guild. My... Family.
For some reason, Natsu knew where everyone lives. That was borderline creepy. With a sleeping Happy in tow, he snuck in the Strauss residence. It seemed that neither Mira nor Elfman were awake at the time, considering it was four in the morning. I gently placed my little fur all on one of their couches and left a note that I had written before leaving the... place... we call a house.
The Natsu in me was quite pleased with my handwriting, considering his were indecipherable garbage. However the, let's say the other soul reactant was named 'Nathan' , was utterly disappointed. Apparently what was perfect handwriting for Natsu and would be considered decent for normal people, it was like a book with an awesome cover but disgusting story for him. 'Nathan' was really passionate when it came to art, literature, anime and cartoons, but was similar to Natsu in everything else.
I left the Strauss residence and make my way to the... TRAIN STATION...
With my jewels in my person, I get inside the train.'Guh, just being in it makes me sick...'
"Are you ready, my boy?"
'Yep. I think I'm ready.' "Good."Actually... 'One last question, dad.'
"Oh?"
'Am I still capable to use other kinds of magic?'
"You are. Your Fire Dragon Slayer Magic would just be the source of our power."
'Then I plan on getting Requip Magic. Maybe a little Celestial Magic too.'
"A fine plan, my boy. If you were to get a Celestial Spirit, which one would you aim for first?" Igneel asked.
'Virgo.'
Yes. If I ever decide to get a Celestial Spirit Key, I would find Virgo's first. Now, I know you would be like, 'Natsu, you can't just separate Virgo and Lucy!' But why do YOU care? Lucy would still get the majority of the Golden Keys, I just want Virgo. She seems the most practical to escape something when a situation where I'm trapped would arrive. Like the thing with Erigor.
Another thing is that she seems like a nice Spirit to hang out with and that I know that she's in the Everlue Mansion. All I have to do is beat the guy. That's how Lucy got her in the first place anyways.
Well, off to the Everlue Mansion!
And that ends the Prologue for "Now I'm All Fired Up!" Not that wordy, but that's because it's the Prologue. I'm going to make it at least 2k words on the next chapter though, which will contain Natsu's fight at the Everlue Mansion. I'm also going to study more on how to write the fight scenes, as I've never done so in my entire life. Well, there WAS one time, but that was just an OP character dodging literally every attack his opponent does and in the end chopping the enemy's nape.
With that being said, this is your boi AzaiNagamasa, signing out!
