Hey guys! Thanks for looking at this fanfiction! Please check out my other stories as well, and enjoy this one!

In my opinion, quests are overrated, and the gods need someone else to hate on. Like, there are so many other great heroes; Jason Grace, Thalia Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, and, of course, my wonderful girlfriend Annabeth Chase. Why do the gods hate me?

But I guess that that quest wasn't so bad. All I was doing was picking up a demigod from a school with Blackjack by my side. Not so bad, right?

Wrong!

This girl was a high school senior, and she was super powerful. Like, she suddenly started radiating energy. And did I mention that she was a high school senior? That meant that she was at least seventeen! I don't mean to rant, but you'd think that the gods would at least send a satyr to help her, but nooooooo. All they did was give me her location, her grade, and her gender.

A small part of me couldn't help but wonder if she was a daughter of one of the Big Three. I really hoped she wasn't; children of the Big Three are nothing but trouble. I should know.

Oh, right, I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson, and the hero of two great prophecies. Oh, and the gods' favorite half-blood to pick on. Yep, in the flesh.

Anyway, back to the quest. I was in the middle of the most dangerous part of the quest; sitting in the classroom.

The classroom was pretty basic; small desks for students, big desks for the teacher, et cetera, et cetera. Chiron enrolled me in this class because this is where the girl was, and I needed to find her. He enrolled me in all her classes, so I was pretty sure she'd think I was stalking her or something.

Which I kind of am, in a way.

I looked around the classroom. One girl was discreetly applying makeup. Another was fiddling with her glasses. A girl with blond hair was taking notes on the lesson like we were supposed to. No one really stood out.

I sighed and looked back at the teacher. It was going to be a long day.

By the end of the day, I still hadn't found anyone who might've been a demigod. I dragged a hand down my face, tired and annoyed. Maybe the energy was actually from a monster, I thought. Yeah, that must be right...

"Perseus Jackson?" a voice asked from behind me. I whipped out Riptide and spun around because only monsters called me Perseus. Well, gods sometimes called me that, too, but that was just another reason to bring my sword out.

But it wasn't a monster or a god.

It was a girl.

Her hair was the color of hot red cinnamon mixed with mahogany, and her eyes were a pure golden candlelight color. Not amber, and not gold like Hazel's, but the color of candlelight. Goldish-orange swirled in her orbs. Her light skin was sun-kissed, and she wore faded jean shorts and a black shirt with a mockingjay pin printed on her chest area. She couldn't have been older than fifteen, even though she had walked out of my class. I immediately knew that she was the girl, but why did she feel so... familiar?

But I replied, "Yeah, that's me, but call me Percy. Who're you?"

"Don't you remember?"

Yes, I know, it's a really short chapter. Most of the chapters won't be this short. Please let me know what you think.
