Hello everyone, I'm sorry for the late update, but I've been busy with things in life. Including the coronavirus pandemic, I must work still but I will do my best to keep updating my stories. Also, this story is a new version of "Return of the Phantom Thieves" since I was able to play Persona 5 Scramble. So, this story is a collaboration of the two games but still takes place 6 months after the original and royal with a few changes of Sumire's character. Anyway, enjoy and hope you stay safe!
The sound of police sirens was sounding off everywhere in Shibuya as the leader of the Phantom Thieves was running to avoid what appeared to be shadows that looked like police officers.
"Watch out Joker! It's coming from below!" Oracle exclaimed, warning him of an incoming helicopter that was approaching.
"Look out! Here it comes!" The helicopter began firing bullets at him as he jumped off and started running down the building.
'Here's my chance'. Joker thought to himself before running towards the helicopter while dodging the bullets. He then jumped towards it and took its mask off, causing it to crash onto the street.
"Nice one Joker!" said Mona.
However, the battle wasn't finished yet, as the shadows began to surround the Phantom Thief, blocking every possible route of escape.
"Alright its time to start the mission!" Mona exclaimed.
"Epic entry, Joker. You really got the enemies attention now, so I'll leave the diversion to you! Keep on hitting them with everything you have and bring them to you." said Oracle.
"As for everyone else, I'm counting on you guys to carry out the plan while Joker holds them off."
"Roger. Leave the search light to me!" said Skull while giving a thumbs up.
"We'll leave the hacking to you then." said Fox.
"Agreed, first we have to secure the gate's surroundings." Queen said while pointing at the gate to her teammates.
"Joker! Look out!" Panther yelled, trying to warn him of the horde of shadows were about to get the drop on him. Luckily, he had backup.
"Cendrillion!" A red-haired girl yelled out to summon her Persona, destroying the shadows with minimal effort.
"Joker! Are you okay?! You shouldn't be so reckless!"
"Violet, this is Joker we're talking about." Mona said, reminding her of their leaders' nature to jump directly into the front lines of any battle.
"In any case, let's take these shadows together."
"Agreed. It's Showtime!"
SHOWTIME ATTACK
For this Showtime attack, Joker used his grappling hook to ascend into the sky with Violet holding onto him. After letting go, the pair summoned their respective personas and combined their attacks, creating a h'uge blast of energy that destroyed an entire squadron of shadows.
"Just what I expect from you two!" Mona exclaimed.
"Don't let your guard down! Here come more shadows!" Oracle yelled as more shadow officers begun surrounding the two.
"Let's get ready, Senpai!"
End of Dream
"Ren! Wake up!" A girl with red hair yelled.
"I'm up…" He said while rubbing his eyes.
"We have finals tomorrow! Don't go falling asleep on me now!" She said while pouting.
"Sorry Sumire."
Sumire Yoshizawa, a second-year student just like him. Also, she happens to be his childhood friend, and one of the only people in his hometown that believed his story of being set up by Shido, since he came back, the two have been inseparable, to the point where people are saying that they are a couple, to Sumire's embarrassment.
"Anyway, we have one more subject to finish and then call it a night." That was when Ren's phone began going off. He grabbed it and saw that his friends were texting him.
Ryuji: Yo, it's been a while!
Ann: Since you never reply, Ryuji…1
Ryuji: I don't? well I've been busy myself
Haru: I wonder if it's been a while for me as well?
Yusuke: I as well, lack of money has caused my line to shut off.
Have you all been well?
Makoto: Yes, I've been good, but is it okay to chat this late at night? Don't you have finals to study for?
Futaba: I'm a-ok, unlike Ryuji here
(Like the altered reality, Futaba is a student at Shujin academy)
Ryuji: Stop it! My life's already at zero! More importantly, the main topic! It's almost summer vacation, why don't we get the gang together?!
Makoto: That sounds good.
Ann: Agreed! Should we all go on a trip?
Haru: That sounds like fun.
Yusuke: If it's a trip then Kyoto is the place.
Futaba: This isn't a field trip Inari!
Ryuji: Ok, its settled, for now let's get together and come up with a plan.
Ann: Where at?
Futaba: The answer is clear! At Leblanc
Agreed, lets meet at the hideout
Ryuji: Roger that, leader!
Ren put his phone away after reading the last message and begun looking at his notes for tomorrows test.
"You miss them, don't you?" Sumire asked while looking at him.
"I do. Which is why I want you to come along."
"Wait what?! You want me to go with you on your trip?"
"Yes, I really want you to meet the me, Or is it no good?"
"Well I don't have any competitions to perform at for the summer…"
"You won't feel out of place once you meet them if that's what you're worried about. Trust me, you'll fit right in our group."
"Well if you say so…then I guess its alright. But I must talk to my parents first. You know how they are."
"No worries, if you can't, I understand."
"But if your asking then I'll gladly go. After all they did take care of you for me while you were in Shibuya."
*chuckles*
"Don't laugh!" She said while smacking his arm.
The two went back to studying before calling it a night.
As Ren was about to nod off, he could hear Morgana talk in his sleep.
"I'm back home Lady Ann…" He couldn't help but chuckle, since he knew how much he wanted to se Ann again. Ren then fell asleep, excited that after finals, he will reunite with his friends.
That was when something unexpected happened in his sleep. He started visualizing a familiar place, somewhere he went to many times randomly whenever he fell asleep.
He awoke to the sound of chains rattling. He sat up when he realized where he was. The Velvet Room. A place that existed between dreams & reality, mind & matter, a room that changes for each person that has a contract to fulfill.
"Welcome back, to the Velvet Room." He turned around and saw a familiar face that he never thought he would ever see again. Lavenza.
"I don't know whether to be happy or sad to see you again, as people who are summoned here have a destiny to see through. There would be no other reason for you to be here. Either way, I must fulfill my duty as an attendant of this room. I've come to inform you of a greater evil that is emerging. It's an evil more powerful than Yaldaboth, more sinister than Masayoshi Shido, and beyond anything that I've seen. The voice inside of you is telling you to fight, to defeat this evil alongside your friends. It will reveal itself in due time, but when that day comes, I will guide you on your journey to fight this evil, should you choose to accept this."
"Bring it on."
"*giggles* That's the trickster that I know and love. Now go, are time is up, but don't forget that I will always be by your side. Until we meet again, pleasant dreams.
End of Dream
"Ren! Wake u-, oh your awake. Good! Our final test is today so hurry and get dressed! Your mom has breakfast ready!" Sumire said before going downstairs. Ren did as he was told and got out into his uniform, only to realize that he was wearing his Shujin Academy uniform and quickly changed into the right ones.
He then looked at the calendar on his desk.
"Only a few more days before we're back in Shibuya. Right, Morgana?" He smiled at the sleeping cat before running downstairs.
Hope you enjoyed the new version of this story! Again, the reason I decided to make a new version of this was because I played the Persona 5 Scramble game. Thanks to that, I was able to figure how to combine Royal and Scramble together while keeping true to Violet's, Wolf's, and Sophie's Story in the series. Anyway, I'll try my best to update as soon as possible. Until then.
