(Now after looking through the codex a couple of times, thought I should take a shot at making the story of the Doom Slayer. I notice that someone has already beat me to it, so I hope I do an alright job, but if I make an error on this then let me know and I'll try and fix the problem. Also, if anyone would like to help on some parts of the story because later on in the chapter, I am a little confuse on the codex and could use some help. So hope you enjoy the pilot.)
In the darkest plains of Hell, called the Titan's Realm, a man that all shall fear and flee in terror, as the Doom Marine moves through level after level, wiping out so many demons with his arsenal of weaponry that could tear them all a part. If they hate his weapons, wait till they feel his fists and the bite of the Chainsaw. He is an unstoppable killing machine, a simple man who slain so many demons that their bodies reach the tallest building on Earth. It is unknown of how long he has been down here in Hell, but with so much rage, he becomes so obsess with killing demons and not a single demon can stop his rampage across Hell.
During his rampage across the valley and towards a structure known as Titan's Altar. It was a dark pyramid with a chunk of the top of it remove and has a large altar in the centre of it. There was a stairway leading down to the bottom with four small braziers on the side of the stairs, while at the bottom had six tall pillars with red fire at the top of it. Behind the pyramid, up in the sky was a solar eclipse and remains like that to bring a dark red glow across the valley to make it dark.
Doomguy fought his way towards the stairs, but while he gets closer, his weapons are close of running out of power to continue the fight. One by one, his weapons became useless, even his Chainsaw that cut down the last Baron of Hell before completely breaking apart. This was the time that his weapons would expire, all except for his trusty Super Shotgun that stays beside him and continues blasting through heads and becoming the true instrument of death. The BFG-9000 kept going, wiped out so many demons in front of him and when running up the stairs, he had to turn around to wipe out another handful that was chasing after him.
At the top of the altar, a large demon that was almost the same height as a Tyrant, but was known as a Baalgar demon. It stands here in full-body, stands with a few priests in robes to hide their appearance to Doomguy. These priests had their back towards him, bowing repeatedly to the demon that had his back towards Doomguy, but turns around, snarls at him and prepares to attack.
The priests in front of Doomguy raise his hands in the air and holds up a strange talisman. It was a strange object with an open face of a skull with green emeralds on the forehead and another in the mouth. It has two smaller faces on both sides, and when he grabs hold onto it, it expands and activates as a dagger, takes the form of a ring with the handle in the middle. When active, the dagger appears as a dark red, curved looking blade with demonic markings appear on both sides and was pure Argent Energy. Before the priests could do anything, Doomguy rushes closer to grab the talisman and shoot the priest in the back with a close quarter shot with the Super Shotgun. After reloading, the priests looks back at Doomguy and strikes them both with the dagger, triggering a strange power surge through the dagger that got his interest, but he let his guard down at the large demon that approaches him.
The Baalgar demon grabs him with its left hand, throws him back to send him collapsing on the ground behind it. When he gets back up, he places the talisman on his back, switches to the BFG-9000 and stands at the ready. The Baalgar demon looks back at him, makes a loud roar at Doomguy and attacks with waves of fire from every swing it does. He had to synchronise the attacks, quickly jumps up and down to avoid the incoming waves of fire, and once over, he fires the BFG-9000, blasting the demon to fall back and fall down the steps. The demons that try to climb up here was unfortunate, as they see this giant demon coming down and crushing the lot of them.
The talisman quickly activates again, Doomguy grabs a hold of it, quickly aims it outwards and suddenly fires a red blast that creates a red and black portal in front of him. He had no idea what just happen and not sure if he should go through this exit or not. Before he came to a conclusion, the demons help him out by reaching to the top, shot Doomguy with two rockets and two green fireballs that was enough to knock him back into the portal before it closes.
The portal opens to a place unknown to him, a place he never thought he would ever see in Hell, except this was no longer Hell. He found himself on the ground, smoking from the blasts he took and was badly hurt from that, struggled to get up off the ground, he found himself on an Earthly environment with forests, flowers and grass all around him. He had no idea how this is here, he felt like he was delirious, believes this is a mind trick from all those hits he took and must be unconscious right now. He can still feel the pain and the touch from the grass with his hands, so all this could really be true and hope to find more demons ahead.
After an hour of walking, he made it out of the forest and found salvation up ahead. He was badly hurt, but he presses on as much as he can towards this place. At halfway, he found people up ahead, believing them to be demons, as they wore full armour that he has never seen before and triggers a moment that these people could be possess soldiers with weapons that can kill him. And so he approaches the men in armour, all aiming their spears towards him and standing in a curve formation. Doomguy was delirious, struggled to move forward, as his legs shake and felt like he was about to collapse. He looks up at the men in front of him, slowly aiming his Super Shotgun at one of them, noticed his hand and the gun beginning to shake until finally lowering it down, as well as falling down on his knees. With him like this, the men move with caution towards him and apprehends the stranger.
Three Night Sentinels took him further inside Argent D'Nur to see the Priests of the Deag and see what they have to say about this new Outlander. They took his weapons off of him before going down an elevator, dragged him along the way and towards the Deag. His mind remains suffering from the rage that continues to flow through his body, and while ignoring the injuries he took during his task here.
As the sentinels let go of him, he remains on his knees and looks up at the priests. One sentinel steps forward to get into his sights and said to the priests "We found him in the valley just outside the castle walls." The sentinel said "He was badly wounded, and wearing this." Then hands one of them his helmet to examine.
Deag Ranak looks at the helmet with Deag Nilox, both examining the front of this strange helmet and has never seen this design before in their life. When they look back at the Outlander, he says a few words, while stuck in a traumatic stress and an angry expression on his face. He was uncomfortable at situations like this, as he believes the demons are out there, hiding and waiting to come out and attack.
Doomguy speaks "Guts… Huge guts…!" Then looks down at his hands that shakes deeply and closes them tight, while saying "Kill them… Must… Kill them all."
Deag Ranak looks to Deag Nilox and chuckles "He has fight in him yet."
"In spite of his injuries." Deag Nilox smirks
"Send him to the Arena." Ranak replies and gives the sentinel back the helmet "Let him be judged like the others."
The sentinels grab his arms and drags him away from the priests and take him into the arena itself. The arena was pack full of people, here to watch and entertain themselves in watching the criminals fight each other in order to survive, which was the way of the Night Sentinels, as those who commit crimes, enters the Arena to survive against others. In the crowd, Valen, one of the high ranking commanders of the Night Sentinels, sits and watches with his son, who remains as a foot soldier to the army.
During the fight, another competitor comes into the arena to get everyone's attention. He was force to enter the arena without his body armour and his helmet, left in there with wounds that have not recover yet and see what he is made of. Some could not believe what they saw with the man, never seen him before and could tell he was different than the others in here. But as he enters the arena, he stands there, looking down at the ground and slowly looks up at the competitors that comes closer to him and does nothing whatsoever against them. One did lay a punch across his face, which he took well and still stood strong against him. After two punches from the same man, triggered flashbacks of his time against the demons, the time when a Revenant got too close and land a few punches across his body.
The man punches again, only to be block and hit hard with an uppercut punch with his left hand. The man was sent flying and collapses hard on the ground, which surprises the fans and finally triggers the Outlander to go berserk against everyone here. He approaches the man, punches him repeatedly in the face and finally stops to looks out at the others.
"Rip… And… Tear!"
The others nearby saw him as a problem, so several of them decide to attack him at the same time, but his strength and rage was enough to pulverise every last one of them until only he was left standing. Everytime he takes a hit, he does not go down and punches much harder against the one who did that. One man did prove to be a challenge, as he was much taller and muscular than him, which triggers a flashback of him fighting the Baron of Hell, but he took care of it when he got behind it and pulls the back spine out of it to bring it down. The man charges in and wraps his arms above his waist to give him a tight hug. The wounds on his body made things much painful for him, the man lifts him up and holds him tightly. Doomguy had enough, he punches him in the face, still held onto him tightly and decides to go for the eyes. He presses both thumbs into his eyes, presses them deeply enough to destroy his sight and finally let go of him. With him blind, he tackles him to the ground, punches him repeatedly in the face and gives him a bloody mess.
The crowd was amaze at this, everyone there was surprise and was enjoying the Outlander destroying everyone in the arena. Valen and his son was amaze to see him take down all these people without even falling on one knee. Before the next patch of criminals comes into the arena, the Outlander shouts out "Kill them… I have to kill them all…"
"What a strange person he is." Valen replies
Doomguy was left in the Arena for another dispatch of criminals to come in and continue the fight much longer. The crowd rejoice as he continues to beat down every last one of them until he was left standing, with one of the criminals close of landing a blow against his face, but he blocks it and punches him across the face to send him falling to the ground.
"Rip… And… Tear!"
With everyone on the ground except for him, the third priest, Deag Grav comes into the Arena to approach him, impressed at what he saw and chuckles "You'll make a fine addition to the front lines, stranger!"
Doomguy slowly walks beside Deag Grav and replies "The demons… They are everywhere. Must… Kill them all!"
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Khan Maykr herself made her presence here in the Arena. When she came, everything went quiet and all turn their attention towards her. She looks to Deag Grav and replies "Dress his wounds and bring him to us." Both of them stop and turn their heads towards the Khan Maykr "I want to know more about the others he speaks of."
Deag Grav bows his head to the Khan and replies "Yes, you're Grace." Then looks back to Doomguy "Come, let us heal those wounds of yours and perhaps something to eat."
Doomguy left the Arena with Deag Grav, but before leaving, everyone was chanting the words repeatedly 'Rip and Tear' before he left the place. Everyone here would remember that this was the day that this man would become more than just a stranger to them, but a weapon to use against the enemy that has not made an appearance yet.
Doomguy was being taken care of by going into a room where he lies on a table, have Deag Grav manipulate the green energy that rises from underneath his body and wrap itself around his body. This energy was a regeneration process that can instantly heal people's bodies from any injuries they took. After the full completion, Deag Grav took him somewhere to eat where he finally had a chance to dig his teeth into fresh and raw meat.
Valen himself comes to his presence to watch with six Night Sentinels and Deag Grav himself, as they watch him eat an entire food for four people. He was left in chains to make sure he does not cause any trouble, but as long as there was food in front of him, he just kept eating and ignoring the chains that bind him here.
Valen speaks to Grav "Who is this stranger?"
"That is what we all would like to know." Deag Grav replies and comes closer to the body armour and the helmet that remains on the floor in front of the table "This is what he was wearing…"
Valen picks up the body vest and examines it closely, noticed different colours of blood that remains on the armour "What a strange design, definitely not from us."
"We also confiscated all his weapons." Said one of the guards
Valen looks back to the man who said that "Where are they?"
The sentinel moves through the room to show Valen and Deag Grav the table full of weapons that belong to Doomguy. Most of his weapons are badly damage in the battle, but he kept them to remember that they did a lot of damage to the demons and did hope to repair them when he has time.
"He was carrying all of this?! What strange weapons…" Valen mutters and picks up the BFG-9000 "This feels heavy…" He then puts it down and looks at one more weapon that was stranger than the others.
"That is something I'm more concerned of." Deag Grav replies and steps closer "May I take a look at it?"
"Sure." Valen gives him the weapon, remains nothing but a talisman and approaches Doomguy. He stops when he notices the Maykr Angel entering the room.
Deag Grav looks back to Valen and then looks to see a Maykr Angel approaching them. Valen looks back and the Maykr replies "She wishes to see him now. Bring him to us."
Valen looks back to the stranger and replies "It's time, Outlander. We have questions and we want answers."
Doomguy rises from his seat and takes a bite on the chicken leg before putting it back down on the plate. Everyone in the room decides to help escort him with the Maykr Angel to see the Khan Maykr, who resides in an empty temple.
While they confront Doomguy and try to learn what he has to say, somewhere else in Argent D'Nur, on the day of the Black Sun, a rift opens and a single being comes walking out of it. He was a human, but also a demon with similar traits. He was a tall man with pale skin, curve horns on his head, wearing a darker red armour with spikes on the top and so much blood over it, as well as no armour protection on both his arms. This demon gazes with his red eyes towards a city in the distance, smiles at this new fresh world to dominate and did not take long before he decides to expand the rift behind him into a large red and black portal. In just a few moments, Barons came out of the portal first, then the Hell Knights and Imps and all kinds of demons from Hell. The demons came through the forest of Argentian Overlands, attacking the eastern mountains where a clan of the Alorum lies and target the city of Telorum, the first city to be under attack by the demons. There was no way they could defend themselves, completely caught off guard, the Night Sentinels fail to push them back and would collapse in an hour.
The city was burning, under siege from all fronts and people screaming in fear when the demons ran through the bloody streets, killing everyone that stood in their way and no soldier had time to defend themselves against this overwhelming odds. The demon responsible, stands from a far and watches the devastation happen and was enjoying this.
Back inside the temple, Doomguy was left in chains and force to answer all their questions regarding everything he mentions. Since his wounds are gone, healed completely and got something to eat, he finally calms down and felt like his humanity was slowly coming back to him.
"W-Where… Am I… Is this Earth?"
"Earth?" The Khan Maykr replies "Is that where you are from?"
"This is Argent D'Nur." Valen steps forward "You're at Sentinel Prime. We have questions and we hope you can give us some answers."
"What is your name?" Khan Maykr replies
"My name… My name…" He closes his eyes and struggle to think on the simplest thing that he should not have forgotten. He would end up muttering the words "…Doom…."
"Are there any others like you?" Khan said
"No…" Doomguy looks forward, keeps his face looking down and not towards the Khan Maykr "It's just me… And them…"
"The demons."
"Demons…" He inhales deeply and hands grip tightly when just thinking about them. This did trigger some flashbacks, events where a city was on fire, demons surrounding him and could hear them screaming for his blood. This triggers his rage again, quickly rising up off his feet and forcing the Night Sentinels to grab a hold of him to control him "You have to let me go! I have to find the demons!"
"The poor man is still delusional." Deag Grav said "We won't learn anything from him."
"How unfortunate." Khan Maykr replies and looks to the Maykr Angel that stood beside her. "I must know the secrets. Find out what he knows."
Before everyone could depart, a small group of Night Sentinels enters the temple and one of them approaches Valen with ill news. "General Valen."
"What's wrong?"
"The city of Telorum has fallen."
"Fallen?" Valen takes a step towards the soldier and asks "What do you mean fallen?"
"It's been overrun by monsters… Two men came back and saw the place on fire. They saw large monstrosities entering the city."
"Monsters?" Valen asks
"It's the demons!" Doomguy shouts to Valen and the sentinels held him tightly to stop him from moving closer "They're here!"
"He brought them here." Deag Grav replies
"Perhaps… But perhaps where he went, they followed him."
"You have to let me go. I'll stop them!"
"Do whatever you want with him." Khan Maykr said "We'll get everything we want from these demons he speaks off. I trust you'll bring live specimens to me to investigate."
"Don't spare any of them." Doomguy looks back to the Khan Maykr "They all need to die!"
"Lower your tone!" Deag Grav raise his voice "None shall resist the will of the Khan Maykr, she is the Supreme Being and you will show some respect."
Doomguy grunts at Deag Grav and replies "Why don't you make me, demon!"
"That's enough! Were done here." The Khan Maykr turns into a shimmering light of yellow energy and remains here for a few seconds until she suddenly vanishes without a trace.
"So what about him now?" Deag Grav looks back at Doomguy "This Outlander is responsible for this."
Valen looks back at Doomguy and steps closer to look face to face with him. Both stare at each other's eyes and Valen sees the real truth from this Outlander. "He knows what they are. He survived the Arena and will be used judged outside myself." He then looks to the other sentinels "Unchain him. He's coming with us." He turns back and walks out of the temple.
Two sentinels approaches Doomguy and begin unchaining him, despite being against this, they follow Valen and not Grav. He was taken back to the room to gear up, while Valen quickly organises his forces to prepare for battle. He will be the one to lead the campaign, while the Deag stays behind, as they could be in the way when the battle starts.
And so the Night Sentinels, under the command of Valen prepares to embark on a serious mission on investigating the threat that is spreading around the fallen city of Telorum. Doomguy is put into the front line, since he knows about this and cannot stop talking about how he wants to kill the demons. He creates two battalions of over five hundred Night Sentinels to join him on the front line. The military weapons, they carry swords with energy blades on the sharp ends of it, while the top of the spear was completely made of energy.
When everyone was ready to depart from the city, Valen stands at the front row with his large great sword in his hand and speaks out to his army.
"We don't know what we'll be facing out there, but it doesn't matter. The city of Telorum has fallen and we need to know what were up against. We can't let this spread across the rest of the cities. No matter what happens, we will drive these monsters back and take back what belongs to us. We will find whatever is responsible and make it face judgment, apprehend if possible, kill if it it's deadly."
With that settle, Valen takes the lead and Doomguy stands beside the rest of the Night Sentinels as the odd person out. He holds onto his Super Shotgun and leaves the BFG-9000 on his back. With everyone ready, they begin moving marching together out of Argent D'Nur and into the forest outside the city. They move through the large forest and remain in rows of six.
After a long journey through the forest for half an hour, Valen looks back to see Doomguy still with them at the front row and said nothing during this journey. He and the other men worry, as the moment the battle begins, he could be anxious to get back into the fight and might jeopardise the entire battalion with his reckless action. He was force to wait a while longer, which was something he hate right now and wants to go out there, but in order to have them on his side, he has to cooperate with them.
Doomguy tightens the grip of his Super Shotgun and looks through the gaps of the trees. "They're out there…. They're coming…"
During the walk through the forest, the Night Sentinels put to a halt when they start hearing the howling noises from the demons from far away, but not sure where it is coming from. What they do not realise is that the Imps, Gargoyles, Cacodemons and the Prowlers are all taking a slow time coming down the large trees to surprise them. One of them spots Doomguy and sees an opportunity to leap down and attack his back. However, he was prepare for what was coming next, he turns back and fires at the incoming Prowler to blast the whole body to pieces.
Everyone turn their heads towards Doomguy and Valen quickly looks up to see an incoming Imp jumping down at him. He strikes it down with one single swing from his sword to slice it in two.
"They're above us!"
With their cover blown, the demons jump down on top of them, while some stays above them and continues throwing fireballs at them. Battle was finally here, the Night Sentinels quickly try to defend themselves against these small fry until the bigger ones come into action. The demons took down so many during the fall, clawed their necks and rip their heads off, while some try to strike them down and would then take an incoming hit with a fireball. Valen stood fast against the incoming attack, helped his men overcome the surprise attacks and shouts out to the men with the spears to throw them at the Imps and Gargoyles to bring them off the trees.
Meanwhile, the Cacodemons come floating down, opening their mouths to fire from the distance, Hell Knights, Barons, Pinkies and so many more Imps lead the charge on the ground. The enemy quickly surround them, they attack on all sides to cage them in and slaughter them all. Doomguy stands on one side, noticed the incoming wave of monsters approaching them and quickly fires the BFG-9000 to wipe out so many of them, which surprises the Night Sentinels.
Doomguy breathes heavily after witnessing his almighty gun doing so much damage and splattering their blood all over the place. He shouts "Kill them all!" And decides to charge in with the Super Shotgun at the ready.
On the other side, the Night Sentinels quickly stood their ground and aim their spears towards the incoming charge of the enemy. The demons ignore the spears and just leap over them to land on top of them, but the Pinkies charge through like a wild bull and some of them took spears through the face to hold their charge. This battle was turning into a massacre, the Night Sentinels could not hold the incoming wave of demons and Valen did stand strong against them, but he saw there was no way his forces can survive for much longer.
Meanwhile, Doomguy charges in against the surviving demons that fail to die earlier. He blast the face of an incoming Pinky, used the body to jump higher to reach a Cacodemon and punches it hard in the face. He lands back down and runs towards a Baron that was doing serious damage to the sentinels with its fireballs and clawing their heads off. He rushes in to pick up two swords, gets the Baron's attention and jumps in to drive his swords through the chest to bring the Baron down. With the Baron still alive, Doomguy pulls one sword out of the chest and continues striking the face of it so many times that his bloodlust took control over him.
Valen quickly steps in and grabs his arm to stop his brutal attack on the dead Baron "Hey! Focus here." He then pulls him off the dead Baron and both look back at the demons overpowering the sentinel guard. Valen looks back to Doomguy "I need you to fire that weapon again, just give me a moment to call my men back!"
Valen rushes back in the fight, strikes down a Hell Knight and two Imps before grabbing one of his men that just strikes down a leg of a Hell Knight to bring it down and deliver his spear through the chest. "Fall back!" Valen shouts and pulls him back "Everyone fall back to me!"
The surviving sentinels retreat towards Valen, but some took incoming fireballs in the back, killed several of them that tried to retreat. The others stand beside Valen, anxious to charge in there, but they realise there was too many of them. However, this was the perfect time for Doomguy to kill more of them with the BFG.
As soon as his men was out of the way, Valen shouts at Doomguy "Now!"
Doomguy fires one more time with the BFG, blasted a dozen of them to pieces, like four Cacodemons, two Barons, four Hell Knights, three Pinkies and a dozen Imps to shreds. Valen and the surviving sentinels was amaze to witness this destructive power with the gun in his hands, a weapon that can outmatch sword and spear they have. But with so many dead sentinels, Valen decides to retreat with whatever sentinel he has left in his battalion.
As much as Doomguy desires to rush back into the fight, Valen calls him to join him and the others. Doomguy had to accept, so he shot one more charging Pinky in the face and help pick up a sentinel that lost a chunk of his right leg from a Pinky. He carries him over his shoulder and moves forward with the rest of the sentinels on a terrible retreat back to Argent D'Nur
