Naruto Chronicles: The Dark One Shinobi
Chapter I: Rumplestiltskin's Return
Emma Swan and the others stood in shock as Rumplestiltskin, or as he was known in the Land without Magic, Mr. Gold stabbed Peter Pan in the back with the dagger of the Dark One. Not that they could have done much anyway thanks to being frozen by Pan a few moments ago. As soon as Pan was stabbed, the boy turned into an adult who was actually Rumplestiltskin's father.
Before anything could be said or anyone could move, both Peter Pan and Mr. Gold vanished without a sight. The dagger of the Dark One was also nowhere to be found. Peter Pan died that night but Rumplestiltskin lived despite what he believed. Lets go now and find out how that happened.
Several worlds away in a land full of Shinobi, a creature made of Demonic Chakra known as the Nine Tailed Fox, was attacking the Hidden Leaf Village. "Pull back and wait for the Fourth Hokage!" yelled one of the Shinobi. Just then a giant toad appeared in a cloud of white smoke. Standing astride the toad was a blond haired man wearing a white trench coat with red trim and red flames licking the bottom. Stitched in red Kanji on the back was the word Fourth. In the mans arms was newborn baby.
"Gamabunta, get me close." said the man. "Alright, but I don't have claws to hold him. So whatever you are going to do, make it fast Minato." spoke the giant toad. "Understood." replied Minato. Before Minato could make his move a strange portal opened up in the sky and a body fell through and landed on the Nine Tailed Fox. As soon as the body fell through the portal it closed up as if it was never there. All of this happened in the span of a few seconds and nobody noticed it. Which was why a few minuets later the body that fell through the portal was sealed into the newborn baby along with the fox.

Rumplestiltskin woke up and groaned before rubbing away the headache that began to form. Once his head was clear he looked around for a moment. "Oh this is not good. Not good at all." he muttered to himself. Looking around he found himself to be inside what appeared to be a sewer with ankle deep water. Further inspection revealed a rather large fox with nine tails that appeared to be asleep.
"Hmm. We cant have this thing laying around, now can we?" Rumplestiltskin half sang to himself. He then shoved his hand into the foxes chest and removed a circular red orb. "Hmm. This is interesting. It appears that this creature doesn't have a heart in the traditional sense, but considering I have this in my hand at the moment I believe this will work just as well." said Rumplestiltskin to himself upon seeing the orb. With that said Rumplestiltskin crushed the orb into dust and watched in satisfaction as the fox died. After that it was just a wave of his hand to clean up the body.
"Now that the trash is out of the way lets see about leaving this dreadful place." said Rumplestiltskin. He then turned towards the cage door he had noticed earlier and made his way to it. However when he tried to walk between the bars he discovered that he couldn't. It was then that he noticed he had the dagger with his name on it still clutched in his hand. Looking between the bars and the dagger he tried to stick the blade through the bars and was pleased when it went through up to where his hand gripped it.
Smirking at the thought, Rumplestiltskin turned from the cage and conjured a mirror and a spinning wheel with straw. He then used Mirror Magic to view the world outside of his sewer while he sat at the wheel and proceeded to spin straw into gold. After all there wasn't much else for hi to do at the moment.
Time Skip: Six years later.
Naruto Uzumaki sat on top of the Hokage monument crying his eyes out. He had just turned six years old and tried to use some of the money he got from the Third Hokage to get himself a birthday present. However the store owner called him a demon and threw him out and told him never to return. "Why am I always treated this way? For as long as I can remember I have been alone and nobody likes me." cried Naruto to himself.
"I can answer that one, Dearie." said a mysterious voice. Naruto looked around but saw no one there. "Wh-who's there?" stuttered Naruto with a scared look on his face. Inside the seal Rumplestiltskin sighed before waving his hand at the mirror he had conjured six years ago. Outside the seal a purple mist settled over Naruto as he passed out. A few seconds later Naruto awoke inside the sewer of the seal but the cage door that trapped Rumplestiltskin.
Looking around Naruto groaned and asked "Where am I, how did I get here?" "You are inside of a seal Dearie. As for how you got here, why I brought you here of course." said a high pitched sing song voice that Naruto recognized from a few minutes earlier. "You. You're the one who said you could answer my question of why I am hated." said Naruto seeing the figure in the shadows beyond the cage door.
"Indeed I am. Allow me to introduce myself. Rumplestiltskin at your service Dearie." said the voice as the figure stepped out of the shadows revealing a man wearing leather and holding a jagged intricately designed silver dagger with the mans name on it. The strange thing about the man wasn't the leather or the long crimped hair or the golden amber eyes. It was the gold glittery skin and the crooked teeth and black finger nails that kind of spooked Naruto out.
After Naruto got over his shock he shook his head to clear it and asked again. "Can you please tell me why I am hated by my village?" "But of course. However it would require me to use magic and magic always comes with a price Dearie." replied Rumplestiltskin. Naruto dug into his pocket and took out the 200 Ryo that the Third Hokage gave him for his birthday. Holding it out to the gold glittery skinned man he said. "This is all I have. Will it be enough?"
Rumplestiltskin giggled before saying. "I have no use of that petty bit of paper. My deal is far more valuable. This is what I offer Dearie. I will show you what happened six years ago on the day you were born. In exchange you and I will merge and become one. You will be me and I will be you. All my knowledge and abilities will be yours to use how you see fit. Do we have a deal?"
Naruto thought about it and said. "So let me get this straight. You will show me the past of what happened the day I was born. In exchange I just have to merge with you so that we can become one person but I will still be myself for the most part?" "That is correct Dearie. That is all I ask in return. Once you see the past you will understand why I want this in exchange." Naruto thought about it for a few moments before he said "I accept your offer. Believe it."
Rumplestiltskin giggled again and said "Excellent. Let us begin shall we. Lets start with my end of the bargain shall we." With that a full length mirror appeared in front of Naruto in a cloud of blood red smoke. "Look in the mirror and all your questions will be answered." said Rumplestiltskin. Naruto did as asked and saw everything that happened on the day he was born. When it was over he stood there in shock once more. After a few minutes he looked at Rumplestiltskin and said. "So that is why I am hated. They think I am the fox because it was sealed within me by the Fourth Hokage. I say was because you destroyed it once you saw you had company in the seal." "That is correct Dearie. Now about your end of our little deal?" replied Rumplestiltskin.
Naruto walked closer to the imp and said. "I would like to edit the deal just a tad bit. If you don't mind I would like the merge to be a full merge. Seeing the day I was born I realized something. The Fourth Hokage must have been my father. From everything I have heard, he was a hero and would not have asked someone to sacrifice something he himself was not willing to sacrifice. So I was thinking if we make the merge a full one I would cease to exist and would join my father and possibly my mother on the other side. And then you will have full control of my body and mind."
When Rumplestiltskin heard Naruto say he wanted to edit the deal a bit he narrowed his eyes thinking he would be swindled out of his only way out of the cage he was trapped in. However when Naruto finished speaking, Rumplestiltskin giggled again and said. "If that is what you want then that is what we will do. In fact your way is even easier to accomplish. However I warn you that it may hurt a little bit." "Whatever it takes. I am ready, what do I have to do?" asked Naruto.
Rumplestiltskin waved his hand in Naruto's direction and smirked when Naruto's right hand gained a purple outline around it. Rumplestiltskin then spoke. "In order to complete the merge you must do what I do." With that Rumplestiltskin shoved his hand into his own chest and pulled out to be a glowing red heart that had some black lines running through it.
While it may have grossed Naruto out a little bit, Naruto proceeded to copy Rumplestiltskin and pulled out his own heart which was a solid red color. Seeing this Rumplestiltskin giggled again and said. "Oh a pure heart. I am sorry that it has to end so soon. Now you give me your heart and I will give you mine." Naruto nodded and the two traded hearts. Once that was done Rumplestiltskin said. "Now this is where it gets a little tricky Dearie." Rumplestiltskin then pulled out his dagger and waved it over Naruto's heart that was now in his hand. He then did the same thing over himself and his heart and Naruto.
As he was doing this, black smoke started to seep out of Rumplestiltskin's body and into Naruto's heart then funneling from there into Rumplestiltskin's heart held by Naruto. Naruto watched in amazement as the process then continued until all the smoke was out of Rumplestiltskin. Once it was all inside Rumplestiltskin's heart that Naruto held in his hand, Naruto say that the heart he now held had a little less black than it did before but not by much despite being filled with black smoke. Looking up at Rumplestiltskin, Naruto gasped and saw that the man's skin was now normal looking. He also saw that his own heart, which the man held, now had black lines running through it where as before it was solid red.
"There that is finished. Now to complete the merge the way you want you have to put my heart that I gave you into your body. Once you do I will crush your heart into dust. Doing that you will die and I will live on through you since my heart will be inside your body. I transferred the Darkness which made me the Dark One into my heart. That way when I crush your heart and take control of your body the name on the dagger won't change and I will remain as the Dark one. If you don't want to go through with this way then I will put your heart into my body and you will live but be trapped in here. The choice is yours."
Naruto shoved Rumplestiltskin's heart into his chest and then looked at Rumplestiltskin and said. "Crush it." Rumplestiltskin nodded and proceeded to do just that. As soon as Naruto's heart was crushed into dust a flash of light flew from Rumplestiltskin's body into Naruto's. When the light faded Naruto's body and Rumplestiltskin's body were both laying on the floor. Naruto's body stood up and looked over himself before summoning the dagger of the Dark One to his hand from where it lie next to Rumplestiltskin's body. He examined the dagger and was pleased to note that the name on the dagger was Rumplestiltskin.
Giggling once more Rumplestiltskin spoke from Naruto's body. "And that Dearie concludes our deal. Thank you for doing business with me. I think I will keep using the name Naruto Uzumaki while in this form and will continue to use this form for the most part. If only to keep up appearances." With that Naruto waved his hand towards the cage door and made everything on the other side disappear including his old body. With that taken care of he made a gesture with his right hand and disappeared in a poof of blood red smoke.
Naruto woke up on top of the Hokage monument and smirked. "Now that I am back. Time to have some fun." He then turned towards the stairs that led back into the village and made his way back towards the apartment that the Third Hokage had given him when he was kicked out of the orphanage at the age of four. Once back in his apartment, Naruto shut the door and walked into his bedroom. Once there he waved his hand and conjured a spinning wheel. He then walked to the closet and examined the clothes that he had. Nodding his head in satisfaction Naruto decided to keep his old clothes for the time being. However he did need some straw and other essential items. So with that being said he shifted his features into Mr. Gold's from Storybrooke, complete with gold tipped walking cane and Armani suite and tie.
He then decided on a plan to make his life as Naruto a little easier. He then waved his hand and his shadow that he had cut off back in Neverland emerged from where it was now back with him ever since it returned his dagger. The shadow then took the form of six year old Naruto. Rumplestiltskin looked at the shadow and said. "Wait five minutes. Then run into the street and cause a scene to where you are surrounded by the people of the village." The shadow nodded while Rumplestiltskin in the form of Mr. Gold poofed to the outside of the village and a few hundred feet from the gate.
Mr. Gold was a man of business and tact. He dealt with antiquities and other rare or old items. He even ran a Ebay website where he sold items online. He was also a registered Lawyer of the highest caliber and can run rings around most if not all top high class lawyers in a court room. Which was why when he found himself in a land of Shinobi with no way to return to either the Enchanted Forest or Storybrooke, he decided to settle down and reopen his Pawn shop within the nearest village. The village which just happened to be the Village Hidden in the Leaves.
With gold tipped walking cane in hand, Mr. Gold walked through the gates of the Hidden Leaf Village. Before he could take more than a few steps he was stopped by one of the two guards that was standing next to the inside of the gate. The guard that stopped him was wearing a blue long sleeved Shinobi shirt and blue pants with black open toed shoes. A green flack jacket was worn over the shirt and a bandanna style headband was on his head. The bandanna was worn backwards with the leaf plate on the back of his head. In his mouth was a long senbon needle.
"Halt. What is your name and business here in the village?" said the guard. Mr. Gold looked at the man and said with a thick Scottish accent. "Hello there. My name is Mr. Gold and I have come here to open a shop and settle down. I have been traveling for quite some time and have decided to finally settle down." The guard looked at him and said. "I see. Head straight down this road and hang a left three blocks down. At the end of that road you will see a building with a red roof. You cant miss it, its the tallest building in the village and can be seen from here. Make your way to the top floor and speak with the Hokage. I will let him know to expect you." "Thank you." said Mr. Gold as he turned and headed towards the red roofed building as instructed.
A few blocks later, Mr. Gold came upon a group of people gathered in a circle. Upon seeing this he inwardly smirked while on the outside he picked up the pace and heard someone speak. "This is for all the trouble you caused Demon." The one who spoke raised his hand as if to strike something but never got the chance. It was at this time that Mr. Gold stepped in and used is walking cane to stop the blow from connecting to the small blond haired boy with blue eyes and whisker marks on his face.
"Is there a problem here dearie?" asked Mr. Gold in a tone that spoke there had better not be. The group took one look at the man and scattered to the winds, not wanting to deal with the man. The boy looked up at Mr. Gold and said. "Thank you mister. They are always doing stuff like that to me for as long as I can remember." "I see. What about your parents?" asked Mr. Gold as he helped the boy up onto his feet.
"I don't have any parents. Nobody likes me and everyone treats me horribly. Most of the time I am lucky enough to find enough food thrown out in a dumpster so I don't starve at night." said the boy. "Hmm. Nobody should be treated like that. I'll tell what dearie, how about we go and talk to this Hokage. I am on my way there now anyway. Maybe we can work something out." replied Mr. Gold. The boy nodded and the two of them made their way to the Hokage office. Just out side the door to the Hokage's office was a secretary. The secretary took one look at the boy and was about to yell at him when Mr. Gold tapped his cane on the floor getting the secretary's attention.
"Ah Mr. Gold I presume. Go right ahead, the Hokage is waiting for you." said the secretary. "Thank you dearie. By the way, the boy is with me." said Mr. Gold as he and the boy walked into the Hokage's office. Once inside the office, the doors shut and a white outline appeared around the doors before disappearing. Mr. Gold noticed this a inwardly smirked as he realized he was essentially sealed within the room. He knew he could still poof out if he wanted to, but he didn't want to so he let it go.
The Hokage said "Leave us" before there was various poofs of smoke as several guards disappeared. Once they were alone the Hokage stood up and walked around his desk. He stood in front of Mr. Gold and said. "Is it true? Is what I saw in my crystal ball true?" "That depends on what you saw in your crystal ball dearie." replied Mr. Gold.
"I saw everything. From the moment your son Baelfire was born, through you becoming the Dark One and loosing him. To the curse the Evil Queen cast, to the curse being broken you finding your son only to loose him again. Everything that happened in Neverland and you having to kill your own father. Then falling through the portal into our world and being sealed into Naruto along with the fox. You destroying the fox and then everything that happened between you and Naruto within seal earlier today." replied the Hokage. "I see. So you already know everything then." said Mr. Gold.
With that blood red smoke surrounded Mr. Gold and when it vanished he was in the form of Naruto. The boy that came into the office along with Mr. Gold reverted back to the shadow which then merged back with Naruto. The Hokage placed his hand on Naruto's shoulder. "I want to know two things. One did Naruto suffer during your take over of his body. And two what are your plans now since you obviously can't return to your original realm or even Storybrooke?" asked the Hokage.
"That is true. As to your first question, no Naruto did not suffer. As for the second. If it is okay with you I was planning on joining the village as Mr. Gold and open up a pawn shop while maintaining the form I took over and joining the Shinobi academy to become a ninja of the village. I may take on my Rumplestiltskin form every once in a while for old times sake but I promise not to use that form for nefarious purposes against the village. We can even make a deal regarding that if you want. As you witnessed I can have my shadow act independently of myself and it can even talk. I will probably have my shadow take on the form of Mr. Gold for the most part when both Mr. Gold and Naruto needs to be seen together. Speaking of which I was hoping Mr. Gold can adopt Naruto to make his life easier around the village." replied Naruto.
"I see. Very well, lets get the paper work situated so that everything is nice and legal." said the Hokage. Naruto nodded and the two of them sat down and worked everything out. A couple hours later, Naruto stood up and his shadow appeared out of his body and took the form of Mr. Gold. Naruto then turned towards the Hokage and said. "Remember. You are the only one who will know the truth about me until I decide to reveal myself. As far as everyone else is concerned I am just Naruto Uzumaki." The Hokage nodded and said "I understand. Nobody but the two of us shall know until you reveal yourself Naruto." With that Naruto nodded one last time before he and Mr. Gold walked out of the office to begin their new lives. Look out Elemental Nations. Rumplestiltskin has returned, and this time he is going to be a Shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village.
