Hello my good friends. Much like "Marvel Rising" I doubt many of you have heard of the video games "Blitz The League" or it's sequel "Blitz The League 2" so this to my knowledge is the first FanFiction on the games. My story takes place years after the ending of "Blitz The League 2" and focuses on an OC character. What'll happen to him, only one way to find out...
"This could be it folks, Hammerheads are faced with a 4th and 8 from their own 43 yard line." the announcer said in an excited tone as the Miami Hammerheads found themselves at their most important play not only of the game, but of the entire season. It was the Division 2 Championship Game: Hammerheads VS Marauders, and currently the Marauders led 20-14 in a snowy Marauder stadium in Chicago. The Hammerheads quarterback took one look at the Marauders defense from his position behind the center and looked at the referee and made a hand gesture the referee recognized and blew his whistle.
"Time-Out, Hammerheads, their third and final timeout!" The referee shouted over his mike.
"It's seems Julius Williams saw something in the defense he did not like." the announcer said over the tv as Julius went to the sidelines to talk with his coach, the Marauders doing the same. "My question to you Frank is, what play would you draw up here?" the announcer asked his co anchor.
"Well Jim I wouldn't be surprised is Julius had to get rid of the ball really quickly on this play. He's been sacked a season high seven times in this championship game, he's also been held to a season low eighteen yards on the ground–"
"So assuming the Marauders blitz, that would give the Hammerheads a one on one shot down the sidelines or down the middle. However the wind and the snow continue to blow hard here in Chicago... and Julius Williams leads his offense back unto the field. Can the Division 2 MVP produce another miracle this season and send the Hammerheads to Division 1 for the first time in team history? Here comes the snap..."
Julius William took the snap from under center, looked up and saw that the Marauders where indeed blitzing all their Defensive Lineman and both one of their Linebackers. William out juked the first man, and took off running to his right to avoid the pressure, and he proceeded to slip for an instant on the frozen field. "Williams has slipped, this could be... oh wait a second!" Jim said from the booth as Williams planted his non throwing hand into the ground, which helped him regain his balance, he then stood up and fired the ball with all his arm strength down the left sideline just as the Linebacker crashed into him, but the ball was already out of his hands and was soaring through the blizzards winds towards the Hammerheads Wide Receiver, but the Defensive- Back saw the ball and jumped into the air and extended his palms and fingertips as far as possible as the ball started to descend. The ball skimmed right over the Marauder with no inches to spare as the leather ball fell into the hands of the receiver, who proceeded to gallop into the Endzone.
"Unbelievable, Hammerheads win it!" Jim shouted as the entire Hammerheads sideline erupted and ran unto the field and began hugging each-other in joy.
-Meanwhile-
In his University of Washington college dorm-room a twenty-one year old African American man sat miserably on his bed, watching the Hammerheads players go crazy in Marauder stadium. He especially was eyeing Julius Williams, who was his favorite player in the entire league. The young man had been a fan of Williams since he was in middle-school, even though Williams was a senior in Houston that year. He was thrilled when Williams was drafted in the first round by the then Dallas Aztecs. Even though he was a little saddened when the Aztecs moved to Mexico City and traded Julius to Miami, he still remained a loyal fan, and had dreams of being a big league player like Julius. "Those dreams are long gone now." the young man said with a sad sigh as he slumped even further into his bed when the new commissioner of three years presented the Hammerheads with Division 2 trophy, which resulted in the young man turning off his television in his room, just as his friend from down the hall re-entered the room.
"You see that last play Jamal, damn that took guts." Jamal's best friend Kenny said in a giddy tone as he reenacted Williams' last second touchdown throw.
"Yea I saw it." Jamal said with a fake smile, which Kenny saw right through.
"Come on man, your favorite player in the whole world just got his team into Division 1, you should be the happiest person on earth." Kenny said in an attempt to cheer up Jamal.
"I know your right, Ken." Jamal said with a big sigh. "It's just, with all that went on this year, I thought I'd be in that position next year or even in years to come." Jamal said sadly, and it was obvious to Kenny what he was talking about.
"Jamal, you where found not guilty, you where acquitted for God's sake, it's all over." Kenny said as he remembered what had started Jamal's decline. Jamal had been the big man on campus since the day he arrived on campus as a freshmen, for he had been the number 5 recruit at the Quarterback position in all of the country coming out of high-school. He had wanted to stay in his home state in Washington so he'd accepted a football scholarship at the University of Washington, and had wont the starting job after three weeks. The next two years went by seemingly like a flash with Jamal winning game after game... until the scandal broke that ended his playing career, a scandal that every soul on the University of Washington knew all about, for it had broken the national news. Even though he was not the only one accused of a crime by his accuser, he had taken the brunt of it, and it had effectively destroyed his career, and his chance of playing in the big leagues.
"I tell you Kenny, it's bullshit how one lie can destroy a promising career!" Jamal spat angrily. "I did the exact opposite of what I was accused of but did the media or my accuser care, no. all she cared about was getting dirt on a big name player, to hell with her is all I've got to say!" Jamal hissed as he punched his pillow with his non-throwing hand.
"Believe me I feel you Jamal." Kenny said with a sigh. "That bitch now is often on the national news, all thanks to destroying your career." Kenny said sadly.
"It's not fair how good and innocent people are punished and dragged through the mud, while lying cheats are rewarded!" Jamal hissed once again. "I had a real shot of making the pros, and now I most likely will never throw a pass in a game again! Damn it all!" Jamal cursed angrily.
"Listen Jamal." Kenny said in a low tone. "They saying is, when one door closes, another one opens, and I firmly believe you'll get your chance. Think about it, a real-life comeback story." Kenny said in an optimistic tone as he gave Jamal a parting high five, and left the dorm room.
'I really hope your right on both counts...' Jamal thought to himself as he looked up at a poster of Julius Williams that was mounted on his wall. 'I want to have a comeback, just like Julius Williams...'
