The island of Sodor is the home of the Northwester railway, with engines of all shapes and sizes, working hard to deliver goods and passengers to their destinations. All of witch wish to be really useful. There are branch lines that run across the coast of the island, serving the docks, the fishing villages and the seaside towns. There are also branch lines that run to the farms, quarries and ancient castles of the islands heartland. Sodor is a wonderfully magical place, surrounded by a beautiful blue sea. It has fields of green and sandy yellow beaches. There are rivers, streams, and lots of trees where the birds sing. There are wind mills and a coal mine, and docks where visitors to the island arrive. All the engines on the island travel these branch lines pulling and delivering various items or people.
The island is run by Sir Topham Hatt or as he is sometimes called, The fat Controller. He sees to it that all his engines are working their hardest to keep the railway running safely and on time. There are many different sorts of engines on Sir Topham Hatt's railway. Some are faster than others, some are slower, some are stronger, some not so much. But to Sir Topham Hatt, they all play a vital role in running the North-Western Railway. It matters not to The Fat Controller what type of engine he has, to him every single one of them are really useful in their own right. All of his engines work hard towards making his railway the best and most reliable locomotive system around.
There are many engines that work on the island. For example, Edward is a blue mixed-traffic tender engine. He runs his own branch line. Edward is one of the oldest engines on Sofor and is occasionally made fun of for his age. Despite this setback, he is also very wise and optimistic and spreads his knowledge and encouraging attitude towards the other engines. Percy is a green saddle tank engine who was brought to Sodor to help run the island during the big engines strike. James is a mixed-traffic red tender engine who works on the North Western Railway, usually working along the Main Line. He can be vain and sometimes boastful, but means well and is a hard worker. Gordon is a big blue express engine who works on the Main Line. Gordon is also one of the fastest and strongest engines on the Island of Sodor. His main job is to pull the express train. This often makes him feel superior. Henry is a mixed-traffic green tender engine He was originally a failed prototype engine, and needed special Welsh coal to operate properly. Following his accident when pulling The Flying Kipper, Henry underwent an extensive rebuild, giving him a new shape. Toby is a steam tram who works on Thomas's branch line with his coach Henrietta. Toby is wise and always willing to share his experience land knowledge with the other engines. He is careful with every job he undertakes, causing him to rarely have any accidents.
But one of the most really useful engine on Sodor is a small blue engine named Thomas. Thomas is a blue tank engine who runs his own branch line. He originally worked as the station pilot at the Big Station but longed to leave his yard to go out and see the world. After helping to rescue James from a nasty accident, Thomas was rewarded with two new coaches, Annie and Clarabel and was given the responsibility of running his own branch line.
Thomas and his friends have been on many amazing, fantasic adventures. Such as discovering a lost town, finding the mysterious Misty Island and saving the Magic Railroad. But his greatest adventure was about to being. He just didn't know it yet.
One evening on the Island of Sodor Thomas was pulling his coaches, Annie and Clarabel, both full of passengers being taken to Knapford Station. Once he arrived at Knapford he saw his best friend Percy. Thomas smiled as he pulled up to his best friend.
"Good evening Percy". Thomas said in his cheery voice and looked at his friend. Percy looked at his friend and smiled happily.
"Good evening too you too Thomas" Percy said in his usual cheery voice. Percy had just finished delving his mail truck and was getting ready to head back to Tidmouth sheds. Once Thomas delivered his passengers and dropped off his coaches, he and Percy made their way to Tidmouth sheds
Once they arrived at Tidmouth sheds Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Emily and Toby were already there.
"Hello everyone". Thomas said smiling at his friends as he and Percy got into their sheds.
"Hello Thomas! Hello Percy"! All the engines said. As Thomas got into his shed and strong cold breeze blew over him. He shivered a bit
"Whoa, it's getting petty chill". Thomas said as he got into his shed.
"It's been like that all day. Harold says there it a storm making its way to Sodor". Edward said nervously to Thomas.
"Oh please. The last time we got a "storm" it was nothing but a light rain that lasted for only eight minutes" Gordon said annoyed and rolled his eyes.
"Gordon's right. Sodor hasn't had a storm in the last seven years"! Salty the Diesel engine passed by the sheds. Thomas smiled as Salty passed by.
"What happened the last time Sodor had a storm"? Percy asked Salty
"Last time there was a storm in Sodor it got so terrible everyone left they're homes and went to he docks and once it was over everyone had to use buckets, shovels and frate cars to remove the water." Salty said remembering that day. Everyone looked at him a gasped surprised. Everyone except for Thomas. Thomas looked up at the moon. The moon was full and shined brightly high up in the sky. Salty smiled and looked at Thomas
"Moons big and bright tonight isn't it"? Salty asked Thomas
"Yes it is. Every time I see the moon it's always big and bright. And sometimes when I look at it, I don't know why but sometimes I feel like it's, calling for me". Thomas said looking at the Moon.
"Maybe it is. Maybe your one the next Sailor Guardians ". Salty said chuckling a bit. Thomas and the other engines looked at him confused.
"Oh, you've never heard of the Sailor Moon? The Moon Kinddom? The Sailor Gaurdians"? Salty asked them. All the engines gave him a very puzzled look.
"Sailor Moon"? Thomas asked confused
"Moon Kingdom"? Edward asked confused
"Sailor Guardians"? Henry asked confused
Salty smiled at the engines
"Well then, it's story time." Salty said as he got read to tell them the story of The Moon Kingdom
"Many, many years ago. The Kingdom of the Moon was home of Moon people and existed during a time called the Silver Millennium. The Silver Millennium was a peaceful time period during the prehistoric age when the Moon Kingdom existed in harmony, along with the rest of the planets of the Solar System. It was ruled by Queen Serenity, it was located in Mare Serenitatis (The Sea of Serenity). Kingdom was also home of Princess Serenity and her four guardians, later to be know as the Sailor Guardians, The Outer Sailor Guardians, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Neptune were guardians who had defended the Moon Kingdom from invaders from beyond the Solar System, while Sailor Pluto protected the Time Gate. The Outer Sailor Guardians had stayed in separate, of the Moon Castle with their talismans. It was also home to a cat named Luna and and a cat named Artemis. There was also connection between the Moon and the earth, but it was forbidden for Moon people to go there. Royal members of Moon Kingdom bear on their foreheads symbols of small crescent Moon, but civilians do not have one. The Moon Kingdom, though it had a fairy-tale appearance, demonstrated an advanced technology. It existed within a dome which produced an artificial climate, and had an advanced computer called the "Eternity Main System". Some say it made living steam engines." Salty said telling the story. The engines in the shed listened in fascination.
"Those who resided in the Moon Kingdom were long-lived beings and had two specific duties: First, they were to protect the Silver Crystal, an extremely powerful "holy stone" which had been handed down through the generations. Second, they were to watch over the evolution of Earth and protect it from any negative influence." Salty said. The engines were amazed by this, all except for Gordon.
"That place sounds Wonderful"! Said Percy amazed
"Sounds like a really lovely place". Emily said
"Is it still standing? Surly it couldn't go down easily". James said. Salty remained silent for a few minutes.
" Actually James, it's sad but true, the Moon Kingdom fell years ago". The engines gasped.
"What? What happened?" Toby said surprised
"Well During that era, Endymion, flanked by his four guardians , held the position of First Crown Prince of Earth. Despite a prohibition on relations between people of the Earth and the Moon, he and Princess Serenity fell in love. However, as sad as it is, even the most powerful can't last. The Moon Kingdom fell to the Dark Kingdom. The Dark Kingdom was ultimately responsible for the fall of the first Moon Kingdom. Out of jealousy and under the influence of the evil Queen Metalia a sorceress named Beryl raised up the citizens of Earth in a war against the Moon.They laid waste to the Moon Kingdom as well as getting rid of much of its people, including Princess Serenity. As a result, the Moon Kingdom was completely destroyed, with Prince Endymion, Princess Serenity and her guardians all dying in the battle. The war was the end of the First Silver Millennium. But all Hope was not lost, Queen Serenity, at the cost of her own life, used her powers to seal away the Dark Kingdom and send her people to Earth to be reincarnated in the present day to hopefully one day, bring back the Moon Kingdom and defeat the Dark Kingdom because the Dark Kingdom is not finished. The Dark Kingdom's main goals are to unleash its full power, awaken Queen Metaria, and take over the universe. Towards that aim, Beryl seeks to gather human energy, and later seeks the Silver Crystal, with the intent to fuel the Dark Kingdom's power."Salty finished his story. The engines looked at him fascinated by the story he told. Gordon looked at Salty.
"Oh please. That's nothing but a bedtime story for little baby's, that you made up". Gordon said annoyed. Salty just laughed
"I wouldn't be saying that if I were you Gordon. Because it's all true". Salty said. The engines gasped with surprised. Their eyes widened with wonder. They listened closer to listen to what Salty had to say.
"And I can prove it. Who wants to see it"? Salty asked the engines. Some had already fallen asleep. Some didn't believe the story and others didn't wanna see it but Thomas was too interested to say no.
"Please Salty. I wanna see your prove on the Sailor Garudians". Thomas said exited. Salty smiled at the little blue engine
"Ok then. We will go first thing tomorrow. Good night". Salty said as he puffed off to the Diesel works. Thomas smiled exited about tommorow
"Don't waste you're time tomorrow Thomas. There is nothing Salty has the can prove the existence of those Sailor Guardians or that Moon Kingdom." Gordon said to Thomas, but Thomas wasn't listening he was too fascinated with the story of the Moon Kingdom and the Sailor Garudians and he soon feel asleep and soon began to dream.
Thomas opened his eyes and couldn't tell where he was. Darkness surrounded him but he did hear someone calling his name.
"Thomas? Thomas? Thomas?!" Thomas had never heard this voice before. It sounded like a girls voice and she sounded worried. Thomas looked around for the girl calling his name
"Hello? Where are you? Wherever you are follow my voice". Thomas called out. Suddenly a bright light filled the darkness. Thomas blinked a few times and looked up and was amazed at what he saw. A beautiful slender woman with fair skin and bright silver eyes. She has long silvery-white hair done up in odangos. She wears a white dress with a bow on the top, adorned with a gold crescent brooch. She has a golden-colored crescent moon on her forehead. The woman gave him a soft smile.
"Hello my little Thomas. You don't know how long I've waited for this moment". She said smiling and walking to him. Thomas didn't understand what she meant. She got in front of his face and gently kissed his nose. Thomas blushed brightly at that. Suddenly the symbol of a crescent moon appeared in his forehead and where the number one on his was. He then looked at the woman
"You may not recognize me Thomas, but I am Queen Serenity, and it's almost time for you to come home and reunite the Sailor Garudians". She said in a soft, gental and caring voice. Thomas still didn't understand what she meant. She must have known what he was thinking because here is what she said next.
"Don't worry, you will know when it's time". She gave him a soft smile then Thomas woke up.
He thought it was a dream but it felt so real. He wasn't sure what to think at the moment but he felt that something was going to happen. He just wasn't sure what.
