Harry woke up in the 7th year boys dormitory. He nearly cried as a flash of all of the memories of the night before came back. The Forbidden Forest, Remus, Fred, and Tonks dead because of him. He snuck downstairs, not wanting anyone to see him. But in the common room, she was waiting for him. Her hair and face were dirty from fighting.
"What the hell were you thinking?" yelled Ginny.
"Saving you by killing myself"
"You leave me for a year, and when you finally get back, you go and get yourself killed!"
"Take a walk with me, and please calm down."
Together, they took a stroll around the now ruined Hogwarts grounds. The castle, the towers now looking like they could collapse at any second, was a shocking sight to Harry. He had gotten used to seeing it perfect, with not a storm cloud on the horizon.
"I did it for you, you know"
"What?"
"I let Voldemort kill me so he couldn't kill you"
She seemed a lot less angry, but now she looked as if she were about to cry. Harry put his arm around her shoulders and she looked up at him.
"If you had died, we still would have kept fighting without you"
"I know, but they couldn't have hurt any of you if I had died."
After a long pause, Ginny finally said, "I still love you"
"I do too"
"So, are we going out again?" There was no trace of anger or sadness in her face anymore.
"That depends on if you want to or not"
"Of course I want to"
"Then yes, we are going out again"
They went back up to the boys' dormitories and saw Hermione sleeping next to Ron.
"When did that happen?"
"Sometime in the last 24 hours"
The next morning at breakfast, Kingsley, the newly appointed Minister of Magic, made some announcements.
" To Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, the late Fred Weasley, and the late Lavender Brown, I award Order of Merlin 3rd class. To Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Arthur Weasley, and the late Remus and Nymphadora Lupin, I award Order of Merlin 2nd class. Finally to Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger, Minerva McGonagall, and the late Severus Snape, I award Order of Merlin 1st class. For every recipient of an Order of Merlin 3rd class, their house will receive 25 points. For each Order of Merlin 2nd class, the house will receive
50 points. And for Order of Merlin 1st class, 100 points to that house. Gryffindor won the cup again and they all went back to life as normally as possible after the battle.
2005, 8 years later
The nurses finally gave the baby to Ginny, she cradled him in her arms and the baby instantly stopped crying.
"What should we name him Harry?"
"James Sirius Potter, of course"
"Why is it always the Marauders?"
"Because my dad was one and both of my godfathers were Marauders."
"Fine, James Sirius it is."
They apparated to the Burrow so the rest of the family could see James. Everyone instantly crowded around Ginny and the baby, while Harry was pulled over by Ron.
"Congratulations Harry"
"Thanks"
"Look, Hermione's pregnant, she doesn't want anybody but the two of us, you and Ginny to know, so please don't tell anyone."
"Of course not"
They went back to everybody else and everybody congratulated Harry. When he was finally able to pull Ginny aside, he told her what Ron had told him.
"That's why Hermione was trying to talk to me in private, but other people kept coming to congratulate me and see James."
"Well let's go home"
They left and went back to their house. They put James to bed and went to bed themselves, having some fun before actually going to sleep, knowing that they had the rest of their lives to raise this baby together.
