My Hero Academia: The Ultimate Spear

-A mostly empty building, Kobe, Japan: 00:03; ten months ago-

It was a cold, dark and dreary night, with thick clouds rolling through the sky. From a small patch between them, the moonlight shone down upon the tall main building of Happy Life Inc.

To the public, Happy Life Inc. was a family-friendly company that provided aid for those whose Quirks made it hard to have a normal home life. From custom made household items to special toys for children, Happy Life Inc. made them all, even offering special deals for those that normally couldn't afford the prices of the products. The company had received several prizes for its efforts at providing better affordable life for everyone, and several other countries were interested in making Happy Life an international business. Behind the scenes of this 'prestigious' company, however…It was much more sinister, used by some of the richest criminals of Japan as a means to spread their influence and make the shadiest of deals. Ranging from drugs to slaves, nothing was to low for these people conducting their business from the back rooms.

The headquarters was built with a heptagon shape on the ground level, but from the fifth floor and up it gradually became a cylinder. Covered mostly with large windows, the headquarters of Happy Life Inc certainly stood out from the other buildings in Kobe. Unknown to most however was the fact that the president of Happy Life Inc. also owned four of the buildings surrounding the headquarters, meant as a buffer to ward off the authorities should things one day go wrong.

The South building, which strangely stood West of the main building, directly overlooked the entrance of the headquarters, and on its roof, three guards were taking a short smoke break. Katai Suto, Akikazu Oe, and Narihira Imada had joined the company roughly around the same time and three men had struck up a quick partnership. Throughout their years at the company, the three of them had become some of the most trusted guards and enforcers Happy Life Inc. deployed.

Katai Suto, holding a cigarette between his index and middle finger, stuck the end of the cigarette between his lips and inhaled the smoke deeply; keeping it in for a few seconds, before exhaling. "Seems the boss doesn't blame us for that debacle last week." He said softly, before inhaling again. Suto was a tall and thin man, with long thin limbs and face. His hair was as black as the night sky.

"Lucky us." Oe snarled, gingerly touching his shoulder; which was bandaged underneath his work uniform. "When I see that bastard that took a bite out of my shoulder again, I'll put a bullet through his head." Oe was of average height, bald, muscular and seemingly inertly aggressive.

Imada who almost seemed to be a clone of Oe, save for the fact that he still had brown hair and a much pottier mouth. "I'll hold that little fucker down for you! How dare those Yakuza assholes mess with our operations! We should hunt them, bitches, down like the dogs they are." Oe loudly agreed with him, and together the two enforcers began to fantasize about how they would kill that Yakuza branch.

"Idiots," Suto muttered, throwing the dud of his finished cigarette of the building before grabbing a new one from the package in his pocket. "Just one more, then its time to get patrol the building again." Snapping his fingers to activate his Quirk: Lighter-finger, by snapping his fingers a small flame appeared above Suto's index finger. The black-haired man used the flame to lit his second cigarette, inhaled deeply again and used the air he breathed out to blow out the flame above his finger.

Ignoring his two companions, the tall man walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down at the street; roughly 9 stories downward. As Suto did so a thick smoky mist began settling down rather quickly, and in a matter of minutes, it completely covered the rooftop and began to dim the sounds of the city around them. Annoyed Suto threw his cigarette on the ground and used his foot to put it out. The thin man turned around and walked back to his companions. "Right dumbasses its time to patrol again…"

They weren't there. "Guys?!" Suto called out, moving his head from left to right and back again. "Where are those idiots? Did they get back inside without telling me?" He walked towards the only entrance and exit on the roof but stopped a few steps away from it. "Hold on…I have the key…the only key of this door…" Reaching through the thick mist, Suto tried to feel the door; but his fingers didn't touch anything. Quickly snapping his fingers again, the black-haired man turned on the flame and shone it at the door. His mouth fell open for a second, before quickly closing it and swallowing uncomfortably. The door was gone, the thick plated metal door had been sliced through and its pieces lay on the floor.

"SHIT!" Suto screamed in his mind, his right hand reached down to his gun holster; he pulled the revolver from its holster and removed the safety. Swallowing again, the tall thin man stepped on the door; walking over it to the staircase and down the stairs. At the bottom, he stopped and peered around the corner. Nothing…the whole building had gone dark and silent. With the flickering light of the flame, Suto could see that the hallway was also filled with trails of the smoky mist. A silently as he could the enforcer crept down the hallway, all his senses on high alert.

He nearly jumped, when something rustled behind him, but when Suto turned there was nothing. "Just my imagination…" He tried to calm himself and his thumping heart. Then there was a creak and further along the hallway an office door was opened with a creak. Suto waited for about 30 seconds, but when no-one came out he started inching closer to the door. Step by step he walked closer through the dark silent hallway. The closer he got to the door, the more a distinctive smell reached his nose. "Blood." Some parts of his subconscious mind registered.

Stopping only just away from the opening, Suto took a few breaths before storming into the office space. Only to stop abruptly in his tracks when he saw the sight before him. Oe and Imada were laying on the ground holding their hands to their throats, gurgling weakly while blood flowed from between their fingers. Suto could only stare in silent surprise when something rustled behind him again. Before he could react something sharp and thin moved, slicing down, for a second there was nothing; then with a sickening sound Suto's hand and the gun, detached from its limb, fell on the ground. The black-haired man tried to scream as blood spurted out of his severed arm but a hand grabbed his mouth and shut it tightly.

The attacker pushed against the thin man's back causing him to stumble into the room. Nearly tripping over his dying 'buddies' Suto turned, and before his eyes, the door was shut; leaving the office space pitch dark. There where some sounds outside and if Suto's ears didn't deceive him a faucet was turned.

Trying to ignore the pain of the mess that was his right arm. Suto took a few breaths, taking some time to try and calm himself. Oe and Imada's gurgling had stopped at his second deep breath. After a short while, Suto began to notice that his breaths were getting shorter and it was getting harder to do so. "Shit! Shit! Shit! Now what?" Without really thinking Suto snapped his fingers to make some light.

- Happy Life Inc. headquarters, Kobe, Japan: 00:23; one year ago-

The top floor of the Happy Life Inc. headquarters was one large penthouse, where the boss of Happy Life Inc. lived and spent most of his time. Rosanjin Fukutsuchi, president of the Happy Life Inc. took a sip from his glass of whiskey while staring at the clouds that hid the stars and moon from view. Fukutsuchi smirked deeply, only moments before he had struck the deal of a lifetime. Starting tomorrow Happy Life Inc. was welcome to start exporting its products to the United States and even better build a new office in one of the major cities.

"Not bad for someone like me huh?" Fukutsuchi took another sip of his whiskey. He was a huge man, well past 2 meters in length; and as a former summon-wrestler, he had enough bulk to dwarf most people. After being caught taking illegal performance-enhancing steroids, he had been disgraced and cast out of the sumo-world. After which it had taken years of crawling through the dirt and taking the darkest jobs, but eventually he had climbed up to the spot of right-hand man of the former boss; becoming the new boss about a year later when the former had died in a car incident. "An unfortunate accident indeed," Fukutsuchi smirked again.

Suddenly his night-time secretary contacted him through the intercom. "Excuse me, sir?" She spoke softly and with a polite tone; a tone that Fukutsuchi just loved.

"Yes, my dear?" He replied while starting to contemplate whether he should invite her up for a drink or two…merely to celebrate this achievement of course…

His secretary swallowed. "An E-mail came in during your meeting with the American ambassador. It's from the HR department, but it is rather strange."

Fukutsuchi rubbed his chin. "Really what does it say then?" He asked while thinking about his young secretary…shivers went down his spine as he fantasized about the young thing...she would be easily replaced...

"With kind regards, Midoriya?" The secretary said a bit confused.

As soon as he heard the name Fukutsuchi immediately disconnected from the intercom and barely was able to stop his trembling hand from dropping his glass as panic replaced all previous thoughts and wants. "O-Oh god." He whispered. "Midoriya..."

Shaking his head, Fukutsuchi tried to clear his head. "I'm being stupid, there is no way that family of assassins is targetting me…right?! Even if they do my security and defenses will keep me safe…right?!" With a trembling hand, Fukutsuchi took a nervous sip from his whiskey.

Just when he was about to remove the glass from his lips, a large explosion shook the building as from the south building a big fireball blew off the roof. The explosion's tremors threw Fukutsuchi off his feet. "Damn!" He cursed out loud slowly scrambling back on his feet.

Bewildered he looked around, before pressing the button of his intercom again. "What the hell is going on? Why is the south building on fire?!" He screamed at the device.

Instead of his secretary answering, however, there was soft humming. The very sound of it unnerved Fukutsuchi and send shivers down his spine. "Rosanjin Fukutsuchi the Midoriya clan sends its regards…" A soft, kind sounding voice answered.

"Who are you?! Where is my secretary?! Why are you here?!" Fukutsuchi screamed again.

"The secretary is taking a nap, she wasn't a target after all." The voice became silent, and suddenly the private elevator of the penthouse dinged. Fukutsuchi, with trembling knees, looked on as the doors slowly slid open and thick smoky mist began to float into the room. A dark figure glided out of the elevator and stopped before Fukutsuchi.

It was a girl, a young teenage girl with long green-hair and four symmetrical freckles on each of her cheeks. A thin black mask hid her eyes, while a soft smile was playing on the girl's lips. It was her attire however that drew Fukutsuchi's attention the most. A long dark-blue dress, of which the hems and front of the skirt were decorated with silver flower patterns. Its sleeves and collar were frilly and white-colored, while on her shoulders a thin cloak in the same color as the dress rested. It was also decorated with silver flowers.

The girl didn't look very threatening, far from it even, yet it was the small things that send shivers of terror down Fukutsuchi. Like how her clothes didn't have a single blemish or even a speck of dust and dirt. The blood, clearly not her own, that was dripping down from the black gloves; told Fukutsuchi a lot about what happened to anyone who had tried to stop the girl.

Swallowing the ex-sumo wrestler took a few steps back, towards the windows. "You are one of them aren't you? A member of the Midoriya family?! One of those assassins!" The girl's mouth curled further into a smile as she nodded.

"Izumi Midoriya, of the main family." The green-haired girl curtsied. "Though I cannot say that it is a pleasure to meet you. For however long that might be. I did learn about all the secrets of Happy Life Inc. after all..."

"Perhaps we can talk-" Fukutsuchi tried, keeping his voice steady despite his fear. "I have lots of money-"

The girl slowly shook her head. "No. No matter how much you might try to beg, bully, bribe or reason with me, it will not work. All the others tried and failed…so it would much easier for both of us if you just accepted it."

"A-A-Accepted what?" Fukutsuchi stammered fearfully.

"Death…I am going to kill you Rosanjin Fukutsuchi, just like all the others of your organization and those working with you." The girl began tapping her finger against her cheek. "Though I suppose that I should ask one of my cousins living in America to investigate that ambassador and see how much he knows, the employer was quite clear that everything and every one of your organization were to be exterminated. It has been such a long day too...you did have quite a lot of spies and informants in other companies and organizations, though thankfully I was able to deal with those rather quickly. Now it's only you left...

Something inside the huge man snapped. "I won't go down without a fight!" He screamed punching at the unmoving girl. Who simply, almost faster than Fukutsuchi could blink, waved her right hand a bit. For a moment there was nothing then the former Sumo-wrestler's left arm, still going towards the green-haired girl's face, fell apart; looking almost like thick slabs of uncooked meat.

Fukutsuchi screamed in horror and pain as blood spurted out what little remained of his arm. "Please! Please! Please don't kill me! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I don't want to die!" Fukutsuchi wailed loudly.

"Pathetic…You are barely even worth using my spear on." The girl said softly.

Fukutsuchi got a small hopeful smile. "So you wou-" His words were cut off when the girl punched in his stomach with such force that the large man was smacked against the window behind him; in which ominous cracks appeared. The president looked over his shoulder, thirty stories down the streets were filled with police, medics, and firefighters. They had come in response to the earlier explosion. Slowly he turned back to the girl, "No, oh gods please no!" He begged her.

The green-haired girl slowly walked towards him, elegantly and seemingly gliding. "I'm very sorry Mr. Fukutsuchi. Normally this isn't my style but the employer was very clear about you dying this way." Without saying a word she punched Fukutsuchi again, causing the glass to break. The huge man fell through the opening, screaming as he fell down till the moment he hit the pavement.

-Midoriya family estate, Mount Green-valley, Japan: 17:40; ten months ago-

The estate where the main branch of the Midoriya family lived, was simply said huge. Build in a similar style as Matsumoto Castle, even around the same year, it was located in one of the numerous hidden valleys around the mountain owned by the family. From the outside, it was a sinister-looking building with black walls and roofs. While the inside looked much warmer and more welcoming, servants and intruders knew this to be completely false as deadly traps and tricks where hidden all over; and changed regularly. Within the walls of this sinister estate lived the main branch of the Midoriya family, along with their attendants.

The current head of the family was Hisashi Midoriya (43), a tall muscular man with long green-hair who was in extremely good physical condition; infamous for his fire-breath that could turn someone to ashes in a matter of seconds. Wanted in over a hundred countries, Hisashi was regarded as an S-rank villain all over the world and the most skilled assassin of his generation.

His wife, Inko Midoriya (41) on the other hand was rather unknown to the public. Without a doubt the kindest of the Midoriya family she had, just like her husband and children, green-colored hair. With her Quirk, she was able to attract small objects to her hands, and while it seemed rather innocent at first glance one had to remember that Inko's favored assassin technique was to simply attract all the electrons of a person's body to her hands; causing that person to fall apart into a dusty nothingness. That being said the kind woman rarely went on missions and stayed at the estate most of the time to care for her children.

The oldest child of the family was called Jigoku Midoriya (21), inheriting his father's looks he stood just a little shorter then Hisashi though had a more slender build. A stoic individual that rarely expressed any emotion. Like his father Jigoku's Quirk was related to fire, though unable to produce flames himself, he could control, manipulate and shape any flame that he wished. It was for this reason that Hisashi favored his eldest child over the other four, as the two made a formidable team.

The second child of the Midoriya family was Inojin (17). Shorter than his father and brother Inojin was easily recognized by his squinty eyes and the fact that he was obese. The results of a lack of physical activities and his poor eating habits. An expert with computers and technology, he preferred to take down his targets from a distance with his Quirk to control mosquito; his current range of control being as far the coastline of China.

Izumi Midoriya (14) was the third child and eldest daughter of the main family. The green-haired girl was tall for a girl of her age, about 175 centimeters in length. Due to her extreme training, Izumi's figure disregarded any feminine charm, having a thin and sharp silhouette that hid her muscles that had been build and defined to perfection. Of the five Midoriya children Izumi was probably the most skilled in the art of assassination, gaining her grandfather's favor and exclusive training with the former head of the family. With her Quirk, called 'Death Finger', the green-haired girl can extend her fingertips into long, flexible, thin and razor-sharp claws that could cut and pierce almost any substance with ease.

The fourth child, and second daughter, was called Enshuu (12). Much like her siblings and parents she had green-hair that was often tied into two knots on either side of her head. Out of the five Midoriya children, Enshuu was the one that lacked a certain "Midoriya-ness". This was due to the fact that she was kidnapped shortly after her birth and kept into isolation for most of her life. When she was found again at the age of 10, Enshuu was unable to perform the multiplication table, write or even talk in full sentences. Despite that she was far from stupid, could even be called a genius, and had a natural aptitude for science and killing.

The youngest child, and third daughter, was Konan Midoriya (10). Silent and obedient Konan often played alone, folding origami animals and controlling them with her Quirk; which allowed her to control and move paper. At first glance Konan didn't seem to be very intimidating or even skilled as an assassin, which was a mistake as the small girl could be extremely brutal and had the habit of dragging out her kills; toying with her victims. "Death by a thousand cuts" was a sentence Konan seemed to live by.

Last but not least was Gensei Midoriya (67), the father of Hisashi, and former head of the family; though in practice was still the leader most of the time. A witty old man of medium height, grey-white hair and a remarkable Fu Manchu mustache. A pragmatic Assassin with a code, which he had instilled deeply into his eldest granddaughter, Gensei is, without doubt, the best of the best amongst assassins; though his age was starting to slow him down somewhat.

This evening, however, was quite unusual in two ways. The first reason being that for the first time in six months the entirety of the main family was present at the estate at the same time. Which, as Inko decided, called for a big dinner together. The second was an announcement that Izumi was about to make.

The eight members of the main family were kneeling at the low table, on which many traditional dishes where displayed. After saying their thanks and a few minutes of eating in silence Hisashi had asked what was currently going on the lives of all his children. As usual, they started with the eldest. Jigoku, in his stoic way, informed his family that he had taken on a contract to kill an international weapons dealer that caused much strife and conflict across the globe. While Inojin cheerfully recounted the way he had taken care of a rich movie-producer, who apparently used and abused many women and girls.

Noticing it was her turn to talk, Izumi quickly swallowed the rice she was eating. "I am doing good I think… two weeks ago I took care of the Happy Life Inc. contract, it took some time but it is completely wiped out."

Hisashi nodded at her approvingly. "Well done Izumi...I'm impressed you managed to do it all on your own."

"Thanks, father!" The green-haired girl replied with a smile, compliments from her father were rare and seldom spoken loudly. "Other than the contracts I have been busy with school, while the subjects are rather easy most of the time; I'm fascinated and even a little disturbed by my peers. Seeing how regular people live is quite odd at times, but very interesting at the least."

"Take your time to learn and study them, Izumi, it will help you gain an understanding of how certain people might react to certain situations. Which surely will be useful on the job." Gensei commented, before taking a bite out of a piece of meat.

Izumi nodded, before tapping her right cheek with her finger. "Oh! I did have something rather odd happened today. See after classes I walked with some of the girls in my class, when we suddenly stumble upon the battle between a villain and All Might!" The green-haired girl didn't notice how her father's grip on his rice-bowl suddenly turned tense and caused cracks to appear. "It was the first time I saw such a fight in person, so naturally I stayed and watched it unfold. The villain was able to create barriers of a strange substance that even All Might couldn't punch through, at least not without endangering everyone on the street. The fight seemed to become one of endurance. It was then however that the villain revealed to have hostages, which included the parents of one of my classmates. My classmate almost had a panic attack on the spot, and it didn't look like All Might would be going through the barriers anytime soon." Izumi paused for a bit, eating some more.

"You stepped up to help All Might didn't you?" Inko stated with a soft smile, knowing her daughter's habit of helping those in need; a habit that Izumi kept doing no matter how much Hisashi tried to make her do otherwise.

Swallowing her bite Izumi started talking again. "I did, though my classmates tried to stop me for some reason… All Might had stopped attacking the barrier for a moment so I stepped forward and told him that I could cut through the barrier. At first, he and the police officer that was there with him didn't believe me, so I proved it by piercing through the barrier and stabbing my index finger through the villain's left-leg." The green-haired girl flexed her right index finger a bit, showing which finger she had used to do so. "After that, it was over quickly, a single swipe and the barrier was broken; it took All Might less than six seconds to take down the villain and free the hostages."

"Six seconds?" Gensei said stroking his chin. "It seems that the symbol of peace is slowing down, last time I saw him in person it took him about two. Granted that was about eight years ago. Did he say anything to you?"

An unsure look appeared on Izumi's face. "He did, though I found it rather odd, to be honest. At first, he asked for my name, which caused him to raise an eyebrow for a bit, but then he told me that I could be a splendid hero; and that he would recommend me to the Principal of the U.A."

The cracked rice-bowl was crushed to dust in Hisashi's hand. "No." He growled.

Gensei, however, had a contemplative look on his face. "Would you like to be a hero Izumi?" He asked with a tone in his voice that Izumi knew he was seriously listening to her.

"I...I...I…" The green-haired girl hesitated, while her father growled 'No!' again; louder this time. Flashes sprung through Izumi's head of heroes she had studied, how they helped others selflessly. Then All Might appeared, grinning widely while shaking her hand in thanks. Her classmates hugging her in relief, thankfulness, and cheers. The people on the street smiling at her widely. "I think I actually might like to be one…" She answered honestly.

"I SAID NO!" Hisashi roared, angry flames licking his lips. Gensei tilted his head a bit in response, a small smirk playing on his lips; which only seemed to enrage his son further.

Inko took that moment to intervene. "Children go to your rooms please, Jigoku could you make sure Inojin doesn't try to listen in. Izumi, please make sure your sisters are ready for bed. I will come to say goodnight after this is resolved."

-Midoriya family estate, Mount Green-valley, Japan: 22:23; ten months ago-

Later that night Izumi walked thought a secret passage towards the south-east wing of the estate. The south-east wing was where Gensei lived and spent most of his time when he wasn't out on a mission. The green-haired girl was carrying a tray with a kettle filled with hot water, two teacups and a box filled with different tea flavors on it. As ever since her grandfather had taken over Izumi's training it had become a tradition for the two of them to drink tea in the evening when both of them were at the estate. This was honestly quite often as both of them rarely took on contracts that took them longer than a week.

Softly Izumi knocked on the door, before heading through. She found her grandfather standing at the windows of his living room, staring at the star-filled sky. "Grandfather? I brought tea."

Gensei turned towards her. "Ah, I was wondering if you would come tonight. Come sit down with me. Are there any new flavors?"

"No, but mother made sure that the peach you favor was back on stock." The green-haired girl answered putting the tray on the table and knelt on the cushion afterward. She waited for her grandfather to kneel as well before starting to make the tea. A comfortable silence washed over the pair as Izumi diligently brewed the tea before pouring it into the cups. The warm water was the perfect temperature to drink so they took a moment to do so.

Hesitant to break the silence, Izumi unsurely started talking "Grandfather is everything alright? I didn't mean to have dinner end in an argument...after we were all together for the first time in half a year. I just do not understand why Father was so angry?"

Gensei sighed deeply, looking down at the water in his teacup. "Before I answer that question let me tell you a small story. Do you know what I wanted to be when I was young?"

"An assassin?" Izumi guessed, but her grandfather gently shook his head.

"Not at all, I wanted to become a hero." The elderly assassin answered his own question, causing Izumi to stare at him in shock. "When I was about Enshuu's age it was my dream and goal, to become the first hero of the Midoriya family. My parents found it completely ridiculous and deemed it to be just a phase. My older brothers however where all for it, saying things that I could be a hero to the public saving people while at the same time act as a knife for the hero-association; take care of the dark-side of heroics. I found it the perfect idea." Gensei chuckled fondly. "It would be perfect for someone with my skills and training, and with the aid of both my older brothers, I was getting ready to do so and apply at a Hero-school…However..."

Izumi frowned sadly. "Your brothers died on a mission, killed by a monstrous villain; who also killed your father when he went to get revenge."

"Yes, All for One they call him; a seemingly immortal monster of a man. The things he is rumored to be capable of…" Gensei shook his head to clear it. "But with their deaths and my mother incapacitated by her sadness and loss; the task of leading the family fell onto my shoulders. And I was unable to fulfill my dream of becoming a hero." The elderly assassin snorted. "Your father always hated that story...going as far as to ignore my wishes and take several contracts offered by All for One. It is those jobs actually that explained your father's anger during dinner. You see during those he encountered and clashed with All Might several times. Most of those ended in failure on your father's part, and I don't have to remind you how much Hisashi hates to lose."

Izumi nodded well aware of that. "But what of tonight?"

Her grandfather was silent for a moment, formulating his answer. "Do you remember our first mission together? That day something changed for me. At that point, I had been leading our family for about fifty years, and I witnessed at least five generations of Midoriya growing up and be trained as assassins. None of them, however, had any interest in being anything else than an assassin, none of my older family members, none of my younger siblings and cousins; nor my children, nieces, nephews or even any of my grandchildren. Every single one of them was seemingly born with the desire to become an assassin or another type of killer, never anything else; and I honestly had become quite cynical at that point. And seeing how Hisashi trained your brothers and you...it left me without much hope."

Gensei took a long sip from his tea. "But then we had our first mission together, you were only nine I believe, to kill some politician; I don't remember the details about him. Our initial plan was to wait for him at the high way and ambush his car. At that point, I half suspected you to attack the car on sight, like your brothers and father would have done. But you surprised me greatly when after studying the car for a moment, you refused to move and start the 'hit' when you noticed that the man had three children in his car. Arguing that they where not the targets and thus shouldn't be harmed."

"We killed him the next day in his office, with no-one being anything wiser," Izumi recalled.

Gensei nodded. "So we did, but as I said you surprised me. And after that mission, I started paying closer attention to you, and it quickly became clear to me that of all my grandchildren you were the only one different; somehow only you inherited your mother's kindness and compassion. Something Hisashi, no matter how much and hard he tried, couldn't make you get rid of. Even when he explicitly forbids you from doing so Izumi, you kept doing small acts of kindness. Helping your mother or the attendants with household chores, making sure that Jigoku took moments to rest; or that Inojin actually came out of his room to move a little. Always watching out for your little sister, helping Enshuu whenever she needs it; playing with Konan and interacting with her when even your parents hesitate too at times. It was then after a long talk with your mother that I decided to take over your training. Which was also when I learned a secret you were desperate to keep hidden from your father."

"That I find heroes fascinating?" Izumi wondered out loud.

Gensei's lips curled into a small smile. "Even better, I discovered that when you thought everyone was asleep or away from home that you pulled out one of Inojin's old tablets and started watching clips about heroes in action; especially the video of All Might's debut…it startled me, and your mother when I informed her about it, how happy you were watching those videos. It made me realize that perhaps I wasn't the only Midoriya who wanted to be something more than an assassin; and that there was a pretty big chance that my granddaughter held the same dream I did all those years ago."

The green-haired girl blushed deeply. "But...but...but what about the family?"

"My dear, our family has been in the assassination business since the Sengoku-Era. All of our ancestors have been assassins since that time. Don't you think its time that there is a small change for once?" Gensei asked while chuckling softly.

Izumi hesitated for a moment, thinking deeply and recalling all she knew about the family's long history. "A small change for once would not be too bad…" She concluded tapping her cheek with her finger.

Her grandfather nodded at her. "Then how about this. We wait to see if the Principal of the U.A. calls us and see what happens from there. If he does not call or contact us, and if in ten months you still want to become a hero, you can take the entrance exam. Which I do not doubt you can pass with flying colors."

"That sounds like the best way to proceed yes." Izumi agreed. "But grandfather...what have colors to do with the entrance exam? And why would they fly?"
