Captain Anna was breathless as she returned to report the enemy attack. She had witnessed such a terrifying sight that she had raced to make it in time. The Order of Heroes got to their feet as they saw their ragged commander rush inside.
"The Enemy forces are led by Ike, the strongest of heroes!" Anna managed between exhausted gasps.
"You're joking, right? The Radiant Hero!?" Sharena almost fainted from shock. She had grown up hearing stories of heroes, and she wanted to befriend every single one. But the War with Embla meant that she met most of these heroes in less than friendly conditions. But even in her dreams, she couldn't possibly match the greatest of Heroes.
"This may be our hardest battle yet!" Alfonse bemoaned, "But we cannot lose here!" He put on a princely face to hide his fear. Countless thoughts ran through his mind. He wished he could see his parents one last time. He wished he could see Zacharias. He just hoped his sister could get away in time.
"Haha, you guys can stop being ironic now." The summoner laughed but stopped when they realized the Askrans were staring at them. "What?"
"I'm not sure we can share your levity, Summoner." Alfonse was grave as he spoke of the dangers, "This hero is the strongest foe we have faced yet." Alfonse had gotten used to the Summoner's various eccentricities, but even they had to realize there was a time and place for everything.
"You're kidding. This Ike isn't even the strongest Ike!" The Summoner insisted, "Remember when we got Legendary Ike?" Ike may have been good a couple of years ago, but Power Creep hadn't been kind to the Young Mercenary. In fact, the fact that he had Distant Counter on his prf only meant that he wouldn't be getting a weapon refine anytime soon.
"The Summoner's lack of danger aside, it's okay! We don't need to defeat Ike here! We just need to hold off their assault until reinforcements arrive." Captain Anna told them, much to the relief of the Askr royal family. They sighed in relief, but even they still had doubts. Could an army even compare to the might of the strongest hero in history?
"Wait, what do you mean my lack of danger!?" The Summoner demanded, not letting go of that potshot. "You guys are the ones who literally can't die! And this is nothing! Did you guys forget the Abyssal Maps?" The Summoner definitely didn't forget. The background was seared into their retinas from all the retries.
"I don't think you understand, Summoner" Sharena tried to teach her friend the dangers of Ike, "Ike has this skill that lets his special charge faster!" The Summoner hadn't grown up in Askr. so it was understandable if they didn't understand how scary it was. This kind of power was unheard of.
"So does every other unit that is released nowadays!" The Summoner was at the end of their rope
