HI all so this takes place as an Alternate end to I am my monster because I don't think a single hug really would have fixed things.

The hug wasn't working, the giant monster that was Steven wasn't calming down, only becoming more enraged by the second.

"It's no use, we have to...poof him," said Garnet, tears spilling down her face

"But will he poof? I mean he's half-human," said Pearl

"We have no choice but to try," said Garnet softly. Yellow drew her own weapon, a massive sword.

"I'm sorry Steven," said Yellow softly as she thrust the sword into his chest. The resulting cry of agony was cut off by a cloud of bright pink. His gem falling towards the sea only to be caught by Connie

"I have you, Steven, it's ok," soothed Connie as she cradled the diamond

"Will he reform?" asked Pearl

"There are millions of possibilities, but our best hope is a fusion to bring him out of his gem, but there's a cost, he won't be able to exist without the fusion so someone he'd want to be with is going to have to do it. Our best hope would be Connie," said Garnet

"But I'm too young, I can't," said Connie, she loved Steven but what she said that night was true, she wanted to be her own person first.

"What if, Steven fused with another one of us, then when Connie feels ready she can join the fusion then Stevonnie can separate from the other fusion, Connie's body knows how to fuse she should be able to do it," said suggested Pearl

"But who should be the initial fusion?" asked Amethyst

"Well, smoky would be my first option but I don't think Steven would want to be stuck with one of us for so long, and the diamonds are also not a good idea," said Garnet

What about me," said Lapis softly

"What? But Lapis I thought you weren't comfortable with fusing again," said Pearl

"I wasn't, but this is for Steven, I'm the best choice to help him through feeling the way he is, he's not going to get better unless we reach out to him, and besides, if I am going to fuse with anyone, I want it to be either Steven or Peridot," said Lapis

"Wait What? Why me?" asked Peridot. Lapis blushed. Garnet smiled wryly,

"Give me his gem Connie, please, I'll give him back to you when you feel ready," said Lapis. She took a wavering breath, she was stepping outside her comfort zone, way outside it, but she had to do this, for her friend, the first person to be nice to her, the person who freed her from the mirror and from Jasper, the first person to care about her. She held his gem and twirled, dancing with the pink gem in her hand. There was a bright light and a tall purple curly-haired four-armed woman with angelic water wings appeared.
