Hope you enjoy! Kennash one-shot here.

Kenna uses her hand to support her head as she looks down at her sleeping husband. She sees that he's relaxed, the first time she's ever seen him like this. He's been relaxed at times but not to this extent.

She wonders what he's dreaming about because right then, he lets out a soft chuckle and smile before his lips relax again. She reaches her other hand to disturb his face but thinks about it. She doesn't.

Sighing, she settles onto her back and blushes when the memories of their lovemaking plague her mind. Her hand circles on her lower stomach, inching down every so often teasingly.

He made her feel like a queen. She is not a queen, but how he satisfied and pleasured her before bringing her to the brink of climaxing before stopping so he could claim credit with himself instead...

"Oh, God," she breathes out, her eyes fluttering closed.

Why did he come in like that, attack her body with kisses? What had he seen or done to incite such a reaction after saying he wanted to wait to make love or even have sex?

Her husband's so complicated - saying one thing but going against it. He's never done that, she knows how strict he is. Once he has an idea, he sticks by it.

She's not complaining this time.

"I want you to remember what it feels like to be with me - your wife."

Her words echo in her mind and she opens her eyes to see her handsome husband, still asleep beside her. He'd breathe her name out quite a few times. At times, it felt as if he was stopping himself. Perhaps from saying another name, she didn't know or maybe he was terrified at how hard he was falling for her. She hopes the latter.

He lets out a wistful sigh and his eyes open slowly, fixing on the ceiling. His lips are in a frown and Kenna's breath hitches in her throat. Maybe he regrets it.

She closes her eyes and evens her breathing to make it seem as if she's still asleep. But she doesn't fool her husband who can tell anything and everything with one look.

"Good morning," he mumbles, turning on his side to wrap his arm over her stomach.

"Bash?"

"Mhm?"

"What changed your mind?" Kenna asks softly.

Bash tenses up. "I don't know."

"You do," she states. "You just don't want to tell me."

Bash sighs, sitting up. "Kenna, I don't want to get into this."

"It's a reasonable question," Kenna replies. "I mean, at first I was scared - you had the same look in your eyes as Henry did when he... but then I felt safe because I know you wouldn't hurt me, but why did you come to me like that? There is only one reason. Something made you."

"I saw Mary-"

"Oh. I see-"

"With Francis. They thought no one could see them-"

"You don't need to say anything more," Kenna cuts him off. "I'm just... I'm a substitute for the real thing. If our marriage must be like that then so be it."

She makes an attempt to leave the bed but he uses his arm to keep her in place making her stop, tears springing to her eyes.

"When I told you to only think about me, you were thinking about Mary-"

"Kenna, no-"

"Thinking about how she's with Francis and not me. That's why you kept moving away from my face. I had to hold you in place but you kept-"

"Kenna, listen-"

"It's fine," she snaps. "It truly is. We are all here to serve Mary." She sniffles, wiping her tears. "And here I thought I had someone to myself finally. Not a king who would use me as a plaything, only wanting me when I've left his clutches when he married me to his own bastard son... Or the same son who... who was once going to marry my queen and best friend. You will never be over her, Bash."

Bash releases his grip on her and she slips out of bed, using the covers to hide her body. He didn't deserve to see her nakedness anymore. Bash rethinks about letting her go and he uses both arms to yank her frame back into their bed, pressing a kiss on her lips.

"I see you," he says firmly. "You, Kenna. Not Mary or anyone else, you."

She glares up at him, her eyes red. "You're lying," she croaks out.

"Kenna, I have always been second best for people. Perhaps, not even best anything. But to you... I come first. You understand me, you protect me, you..." Love me.

"I...?"

"You give me a chance to be happy," he whispers. "For something that could be mine, yours, ours."

"Then why...? After you saw..."

"I realised that I could be happy. Mary? She was made to be with Francis and our paths differ greatly. With you, I can start anew and not be scared that you'd leave me for another," he admits. "We're married until death, Kenna."

She forces his head down and kisses him hard. She closes her eyes when his lips move from her lips to her jaw. From her jaw, he leads down to her neck and collarbone, leaving love bites.

"I will always want you. From now until my last breath," he breathes out, kissing the valley between her breasts.

"I will always want you too," Kenna breathes out when his lips land on her lower stomach. "Don't..."

He stops, looking up at her. "You don't want me to-"

"Oh," Kenna says, blushing. "I was going to say that you shouldn't stop." She giggles when he pulls a face and continues to kiss her skin.

"As my wife commands," he replies, finally kissing her.

Kenna bites her knuckle, her breaths coming haggardly. "Promise me..."

"Promise what?" He asks softly, kissing the insides of her thigh now before he teases her some more, making her other hand clutch at the sheets tightly.

"You'll always think of me. When you're with..."

"Always," he whispers, burying his head between her legs.

"Oh, dear God..."

A while later, after a very dominating session of lovemaking with both ending on top at different points, Kenna opens her eyes and blushes when she feels her husband's lips meet her neck.

"There you are," he whispers. "I was starting to believe I'd tired you out too much that you'd wake tomorrow morning."

Her back is against his chest, his hand on her stomach, his breath on her skin.

"I'm thoroughly satisfied," she replies warmly.

"Glad to know, wife."

"Say that again."

"Wife," he drawls, kissing her shoulderblade. "I'm the luckiest bastard alive."

Kenna playfully rolls her eyes, reaching behind her to rub the back of his neck. "Don't you forget that."

They are disturbed by Mary's voice outside, concerned for her lady's lack of appearance all day. Kenna groans, feeling Bash dig his face into her back, his fingers trailing to her nether regions.

"If you'll just keep quiet, perhaps she'll go-"

"Bash!" Kenna giggles.

"Kenna?"

Bash lets out a groan of disapproval and he releases his wife from his grip. He sees the covers drop from her frame as she tells Mary that she was feeling unwell with a headache but is feeling alright now through the door.

"Why?" Bash asks quietly, making his wife smirk. "Although I am quite enjoying the view." He rests his head on his arm, leaning against the headboard of the bed as he watches her get dressed in record time.

His fingers trace a dent in the headboard and he grins a little. He ought to check the damage fully later.

Kenna places her hands on her hips and turns to face him. "You need to get out of bed too. If Mary's come looking now, it won't be long until-"

"Bash, are you in there?"

"...Francis comes along," his wife finishes.

"I'll be right out, Francis!" Bash calls out, releasing a heavy sigh that makes his wife laugh.

"I'll still be here tonight," Kenna says sultrily. "And every other night. We're married, remember?"

Bash lets out a smirk. "Is that so? I forgot with all the riding you-"

"Bash, duties awaits," Francis says, repeatedly knocking on the door. "Urgent. Really urgent. Like Father needs us urgent."

Bash gives his wife a look and a roll of his eyes. "If he's with me, he won't be anywhere near you," he tells her, coming out of the bed to kiss her deeply. "I will see you tonight then."

Kenna beams and nods. "You should probably get dressed before attending to your duties..." She says, glancing downwards quickly with a laugh. "And before that, you should sort that out."

"Kenna!"

She leaves his grip and opens the door, staring at a baffled Francis. She gives the Dauphin a polite curtsey before whispering in his ear about his half-brother's predicament.

The blonde's eyes widen and he's laughing much to Bash's displeasure and annoyance, telling Bash to take all the time he needed. He'll wait.

As Kenna attends to her queen, she's certain that her husband and she will get on just fine. If their sex life is anything to go on, already letting out sparks and fire and... She blushes, just thinking about it.

"Kenna? Are you listening?" Mary asks, bemused at her lady-in-waiting's reddened cheeks.

Kenna blinks. "Uh, yes. I-I am."

"Are you alright?"

"I'm... wonderful," Kenna breathes out, a grin playing on her lips.
