A deep crash echoed throughout the tower. The sound of the alarm gong being hit travelled through the city. Torches came alight, curtains were drawn back, horses reared and cowered in their stables.

Peter nearly fell out of his bed as the harsh noise exploded and interrupted his peaceful sleep. Narrowly avoiding smashing his foot into his dresser, he untangled himself from his blankets and clumsily stumbled over to the wardrobe on the other side of his room. A cold draft swept up through the floorboards, biting at his bare feet.

Blindly groping around in his closet, his hand hit something solid. Grabbing it and dragging it out, Peter let out a sigh of relief. He set the holding cell for his iron spider suit upright. As he tapped the clear force field, the energy rippling at his touch. It fell away in a shimmer of white, allowing him to get the armour out.

After a swift suiting up thanks to the nano-plate enchantment, Peter leapt out his open window. The wind rushed past as he plummeted, his web-like scarf fluttering in the wind. The ground raced towards him. With one motion, a web shot out of his wrist. It attached itself to a nearby lantern post, and Peter swung onward.

Peter dodged the neighbor's pet roc on it's nightly flight. An ox pulling a wagon raised it head as he swung over. The full moon and starlight shone onto his scarlet armour.

By the time he reached the Avengers Watch Tower, the moon had sunk behind the hills, a slight tinge of purple streaked across sky above the West mountains. With a mighty swing, he hurled himself onto the wall and latched onto the stone. As soon as he touched the bricks, they began to shake. In a fit of panic, Peter tried to unstick himself. Just as his hands came off, the shaking bricks slid into the wall, and he tumbled head first onto the rug inside.

"Truly, the spider is a misunderstood creature of grace and intelligence. The ancient cults were in awe of his power. " Even lying face down on a fur rug, Peter immediately recognised who was speaking. Rolling onto his side and propping himself up with his elbow, he huffed. "I am graceful and intelligent!" he retorted, knowing that nothing could wipe that smirk off Tony's face. Tony took Peter's hand and pulled him up with a chuckle. "Even with his limitless wisdom, the spider fell for the elf's torch," Tony responded as the pair began to walk down the hall. "You never told me the walls did... that!" Peter said. "Well, it was Pepper's idea after I found you. An enchantment so when that rune on your emblem is detected, the walls open up just for you," Tony explained, casually tapping the Stark Family rune on Peter's chest.

As they continued on their way and climbed the stairs something struck Peter. "Wait, what about the Avengers Fortress?"

"Huh?"

"Y'know, where you moved all the Avengers stuff after-"

"Oh, yeah right." Tony stopped walking and placed a hand on Peter's shoulder, the smile fading from his face. "Well, there was an incident."

"An incident?" Peter echoed, nearly tripping over the next step. "Yeah. You never really got a chance to meet Vision, did you?" Tony replied with a sigh. "You've told me about him, he seems great," Peter said.

"Well... There was an attack on the facility by a horde of demons... And Vision was the only one inside..."
