Reid's Wheels up Giggle Fest (revised)

In an alternate beginning to Reid being reinstated to the BAU after his time in prison, during his first murder case back, he tried to talk about theories in his usual fashion and the rest of the team found it very hard not to show him just how much they've missed him.

Chapter 1: The Round Table Giggle Fest

In an alternate beginning to Reid being reinstated into the BAU after his whole prison ordeal, Garcia presented the BAU the next murder case at the round table and after the team saw all the crime scene photos Reid gets up and stands by the photos on the screen. He started telling them one of his long unsub theories. And, for once, everybody was eager to listen to what he was saying.

JJ smiles and whispers to Garcia, "Some things never change!"

Garcia whispers and giggles, "I know! I've missed this!"

Prentiss whispers, "What are you doing?"

Garcia whispers, "Doesn't it make you happy finally hearing Reid doing this again?"

"Of course it does," Prentiss whispers. "But don't laugh! It's Reid!"

Garcia whispers, "What do you mean?"

Rossi whispers, "He'll think that you're laughing at him and then he'll want to know what's so funny!"

"Yes, sir!" said Garcia. "No more laughing!"

Reid continues to tell the team his theory, and all of a sudden JJ starts laughing. Garcia looks at JJ and smiles. Prentiss also looks over at JJ.

Prentiss whispers, "JJ!"

"I'm sorry," laughs JJ. "I just never thought that I could actually miss this!"

Both Garcia and JJ silently laugh. Reid continues talking and all of a sudden Prentiss starts laughing, too.

"Oh, my God," laughs Prentiss. "I...I can't believe how much I've missed this!"

As Reid continued talking Rossi started smiling, and Alvez and Lewis also started laughing as well. Only Simmons wasn't laughing, because he was the newest team member and he wasn't used to Reid's long and boring talks yet. Both Reid and Simmons noticed everybody else quietly giggling at the round table.

"Uh, wait a minute," said Reid. "What's so funny, guys?"

"That's what I want to know," admits Simmons.

"Nothing," laughs Prentiss. "There's nothing funny, Matt! We...We're all just happy!"

"What?!" said Reid. "Come on!"

Simmons said, "Tell us, please. I can always use a good laugh!"

Rossi said, "It's just that it's been over four months since the last time the kid gave us his definitions on what he knows!"

Garcia laughs, "Yeah! And it's such a good feeling to finally hear him doing it again!"

"But, we're supposed to be serious about this case," said Reid. "Do you want me to stop?"

JJ gasps.

"No," said JJ.

Lewis laughs, "No, please don't stop!"

"No, man," said Alvez. "Don't stop. It's music to our ears!"

Prentiss laughs, "Spencer, please, just tell us what we need to know. We'll be fine!"

JJ said, "We're all just happy that you're back. We've missed you, Spence. Please continue!"

"Okay," smiles Reid.

Reid continues telling them his theory.

Garcia whispers to JJ, "Ohh! If anything that he misses makes him laugh, I'm going to capitalize on it!"

JJ smiles and puts her arm around Garcia. Everybody calmed down as Reid finished telling his theory.

"...and I've missed you guys, too!" finishes Reid.

Everybody looks over at Reid and smiles.

"Do you guys think the unsub will strike again tonight?" asks Alvez.

"We can't rule it out," said Prentiss. "We need to go there right away. Wheels up in 20, guys!"

Prentiss suddenly heard one person laughing and she looked around to see who it was. To everybody's surprise, it was now Reid laughing.

Simmons said, "Reid?"

"Spence?!" said JJ.

"What's so funny, kid?" asks Rossi.

"Nothing," laughs Reid. "There's nothing funny, guys!"

Prentiss said, "Reid!"

"What?!" said Garcia. "Come on!"

"Tell us, please!" said Lewis.

Simmons smiles and says, "Deja-vu!"

"It's just that I haven't heard anybody say 'Wheels up' in over four months!" laughs Reid. "It...It's such a good feeling finally hearing it again!"

JJ and Prentiss continued watching Reid laugh. Garcia gave a big smile to the others.

"Wheels up, Boy Wonder!" said Garcia.

Reid laughs harder and Garcia also laughs. Prentiss smiles.

"Wheels up, Reid!" said Simmons.

Reid laughs even harder and JJ laughs watching him.

"Wheels up, Doctor!" said Lewis.

Reid laughs even harder and Lewis laughs as well.

"Wheels up, brother!" said Alvez.

Reid buries his face in his hands laughing. Alvez also laughs.

"Wheels up, kiddo!" said Rossi.

Reid laughs so hard he was crying now and Prentiss starts laughing, too! JJ puts her hands on Reid's shoulders.

"Wheels up, Spence," laughs JJ.

JJ and Reid held onto each other tightly while they both were laughing. Everybody else was also laughing.

"Okay, guys," laughs Prentiss. "Wheels up in 25!"

"I think I'm going to like being on this team," admits Simmons.

Garcia walks over to Prentiss and hugs her tightly. The whole round table room was roaring with laughter.

Garcia narrates, "Most of the things that we desire in life are expensive, but the truth is that the things that really satisfy us are absolutely free: Love, Joy and Laughter!"

Chapter 2: Garcia's Suggestion

After the case was closed and the BAU team returned to Quantico, Garcia walked up wanting to talk to Prentiss.

"Oh, good," said Garcia. "You all are here! Guys, that was a whole lot of fun earlier! We really need to do that again! We've had a tough year! We've lost Morgan and Hotch for good, Reid here, going to prison, Stephen being murdered and the shutting down of the IRT! We've had more reasons to be sad this year than we've had to be happy. And, I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want to be sad anymore."

JJ walks over and hugs Garcia.

Garcia continues, "Our good doctor being back here with us where he belongs and our recent fun time with him are the only recent happy times that I can think of now."

Reid smiles at Garcia.

Garcia finishes, "I...I just want us all to have more fun and happy times, now. Can we?"

Garcia looks at Prentiss. Prentiss looks at Lewis and Alvez and then they all look at Garcia.

"Wait," said Garcia. "What are you looking at, Newbie?!"

"Nothing," said Alvez. "I'm just listening to what you were saying. Well, what do you think, Prentiss? Can we have some more fun and happy times?"

"Well, Penelope, you were right," Prentiss laughs. "We all did have a lot of fun with Reid earlier. Let's throw him a 'Welcome Home' party tomorrow!"

Garcia gasps.

"Yes," said Garcia getting excited. "He needs that! We need that!"

Garcia hugs Reid.

Prentiss said, "And I've just realized that I haven't seen Sergio the whole year that I've been back. Can I come over to see him tonight?"

"Yes," said Garcia. "He would love to see you!"

Garcia and Prentiss laugh while hugging each other.

"Well, Garcia," said Lewis. "I've just realized that because we were trying to help Reid in prison so much we haven't had a Girls Night Out in some time. Can we get together this weekend for one?"

"Oh, yes!" said Garcia. "Just the four of us! That's a dream come true!"

Garcia happily hugs Lewis.

JJ said, "Well, Will and I could bring Henry and Michael over to Spence's party. Does that sound good?"

"Yes! Yes," cheered Garcia. "My two godsons! That sounds wonderful!"

Garcia happily hugs JJ. JJ laughs.

"Kristy and I could bring our kids over as well," said Simmons. "Would you like that, Penelope?"

"Oh, yes!" Garcia says happily. "The more the merrier! Please do! Please do!"

Garcia hugs Simmons. Simmons smiles.

"Do your kids like dogs?" asks Alvez. "I could bring Roxy over to play with them!"

"Oh! Oh!" says Garcia. "Even the Newbie has a good idea!"

Garcia happily hugs Alvez. Prentiss smiles at him and he smiles back at Prentiss.

"Wait a minute," said Reid. "We would need a big place to have everybody over for the party."

"That's true," said Prentiss. "What about Rossi's place?"

"Oh, no!" said Rossi. "I like my solitude! Find someplace else!"

Everybody else said, "Rossi!"

Rossi laughs, "And everybody says I have no sense of humor! Of course you can come!"

Garcia happily hugs Rossi.

"Sir," said Garcia. "I love you! I love you! I love you!"

Chapter 3: Reid's Housewarming Party at Rossi's Mansion

The next evening at Rossi's mansion Reid's "Welcome Home" party was in full swing. JJ's sons, Henry and Michael, along with Simmons's four kids, Lily, Chloe, David and Jake were playing "Fetch" with Alvez's dog, Roxy. Music was playing on Rossi's record player. JJ was dancing with Will, Simmons was dancing with Kristy, Rossi was dancing with Garcia, Alvez was dancing with Lewis and Reid was dancing with Prentiss. When the song ended, Rossi was clinking a spoon to a wine glass to get everybody's attention for a toast to Reid.

"To Spencer Reid," said Rossi. "The smartest agent I've ever met in my life and a good friend to all of us! We all missed you! We love you! Welcome home, kiddo!"

Everybody else said, "Welcome home!"

"Thank you," said Reid. "It's good to be back home with all of you! I've missed all of you, too!"

The adults sipped their wine to the toast while Reid and the children sipped either lemonade or fruit punch. As the party continued, Garcia was giving Roxy a little tender loving care in front of Alvez. Reid dazzled the six kids with his magic tricks. Will, Kristy and Lewis were watching him. Reid took a quarter in his right hand and he made it disappear. He then walked over to Chloe and waved his hand by her ear and nothing happened. He waved his hand by Michael's ear and nothing happened. Then he waved his hand by Lewis and pulled the quarter out of her left ear surprising all of the kids and Lewis, too.

"Whoa," said Lewis. "How does he do that?!"

Will and Kristy laughed and applauded Reid. Some of the kids played some more with Roxy. More music was playing and JJ was dancing with Rossi. Garcia was dancing with Henry. Simmons danced with Lily and Prentiss danced with Alvez. When it was time to serve the cake, JJ and Kristy were lining up all of the kids for their cake slices. Prentiss was giving Reid the first plate of cake and Reid hugged her before taking it.

"What's this for, Spencer?" asks Prentiss.

"Well," answers Reid. "For never giving up on me while I was in prison. And for helping me save my mom, and for suggesting this party for me. Thank you, Emily. You're a great leader and an even greater friend!"

"You're welcome," Prentiss smiles. "You're not just our teammate, you're our family. We'll always have your back. Always."

Reid smiled and he walked away to eat his cake slice. Garcia walks up to Prentiss and hugged her also. Prentiss laughs.

"Thank you for giving us this party, Em," said Garcia. "It's a very fun and happy time after such a bad year! We all needed this!"

Garcia takes a plate of cake and walks away to eat it. Alvez walks over to Prentiss.

"Well, Garcia was right," admits Alvez. "We all did need some more fun and happy times."

Alvez and Prentiss were eating their cake slices while looking around at everybody else enjoying themselves. Prentiss realized that this party was the perfect place for one more touch of fun. Prentiss knew that she could do this.

"Well, this is a happy time," smiles Prentiss. "But we still need one more thing to make it fun!"

"What's that?" asks Alvez.

Prentiss picked up a wine glass and clinked a spoon against it to get everybody's attention. Everybody thought that she was about to make another toast to Reid.

"Uh, Spence?" said Prentiss.

"Yes?" asks Reid.

"Wheels up!" smiles Prentiss.

Reid started laughing uncontrollably again. Prentiss and the other BAU team members started laughing with Reid. All six kids started laughing because Reid's laughing was funny to them! Only Will and Kristy were not laughing.

"'Wheels up?'" asks Kristy. "I don't get it, Matt!"

"Yeah," said Will.

JJ was leaning onto Will's shoulder laughing.

"Spence," laughs JJ.

"Since when did 'Wheels up' become so funny?" asks Will.

Rossi and Simmons smile.

"I'll explain that later," said Rossi. "Right now it's Reid's party!"

Simmons hugs Kristy.

"Dave's right," said Simmons. "Right now, let's just enjoy watching Reid being happy!"

"I love you, Emily Prentiss!" laughs Garcia.

Prentiss walked over to Reid and hugged him tightly while they were both laughing.

"We love you, Dr. Reid," laughs Prentiss. "Welcome home!"

Reid narrates, "My friends and family are not perfect, but they are perfect for me. I love them now and I will love them for all eternity."

This story is dedicated to anybody who felt that Spencer Reid was put through too much pain and torture throughout the Criminal Minds series. A lot of people have been saying that Reid deserves some happiness in his life. This story was inspired because I thought that after Cat Adams and Lindsey Vaughn had caused Reid's entire bad time in prison, that the whole BAU team needed a good decompression time with some fun and laughter! I know that they don't usually laugh so much at the beginning of a case, but, I thought that they could start this giggle fest at the round table, and continue it at the Welcome Home party at Rossi's mansion.
