Introduction
This is my second book about my favorite fictional protagonist ever, Elizabeth Bennet and the love of her life, William Darcy. In this story, our heroes will have some passionate encounters in the opulent Magnificent Mile in Chicago, in the vicinity of the wild Everglades in Florida, and in the wondrous San Diego area.
Darcy is not unlike the original, proud and haughty. He gets bitten by the love bug almost from the beginning, which, naturally, doesn't prevent him from shamelessly insulting our heroine. Lizzy is as prejudiced against Darcy as would be expected. After all, he wounded her vanity in a spectacular fashion! Not unexpectedly, as the title suggests, she's also exceedingly stubborn. So much so you'll want to gently shake her to bring her to her senses! That's our good ol' Lizzy!
Even at their worst, we can't help treasuring them because we comprehend that deep down; they are each in themselves, amazing human beings. And together, they will move mountains!
Please forgive my style and grammar errors, but kindly point them out, so I can promptly correct them. I decided not to use a private beta because that would take away the thrill of the ride for me. You will be my betas. As long as I agree, I'll follow your suggestions. If I get no comments, I'll keep churning until I'm done.
My chapters will be very small, compared with my first book, to make them easier to edit and to allow me to post more frequently. They will be similar in length to those of the original masterpiece, around 1,000 words per chapter. As always, the characters belong to the great Jane Austen, and I'm merely borrowing them for a few chapters until the end of this book. Ha! This is dedicated to my lovely wife of thirty-two years and counting…
