Zimbo is preparing to leave his monster parents' cave in a week, since the monsters Maya and Jun have had enough of him. He hasn't seen his birth family since his birth parents (Jon and Pamela) and stepparents (Karan and Vera) have all died in different years, only leaving him and his much older half sisters Bhola and Leher (who are now living in a budding Kampala) as the last ones standing.
Meanwhile, the monster parents are so physically and mentally sick, that they are going to die within a few days. That's because their mental health declined quickly from the good times of yore, and of course, their frequent abuses by monster gangsters. A day later, Zimbo finds the rotting corpses in the cave are his newly dead adoptive parents.
He is so traumatised by the shared deaths of his monster parents, as he is learning to realise that they were apes, albeit huge and rather ugly ones.
