AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was originally one of my MLP/Monkees crossovers I wrote in the early 2000's, when I was in college. I decided to retool it and cross it over with "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show," like I did with an earlier MLP/Monkees crossover. And no, this does not mean I'm going to do an entire series of MLP/Mario stories (a lot of my MLP/Monkees crossovers have already been retooled here on ). Just something I felt like doing. MLP belongs to Hasbro, Sting, Bumble, and the bees belong to Sunbow, and the Super Mario Bros. belongs to Nintendo. I'm also mixing Mario canons, because Toadette and Toadsworth makes an appearance.
It was just another normal day in Flutter Valley. The Flutter Ponies were flying around the Sun Stone, having fun.
"It's such a beautiful day!" Morning Glory shouted.
"Yes, it is," Honeysuckle had to agree. There were times where she didn't have patients for Morning Glory's cheerfulness.
After a full day, the Flutter Ponies flew to their sleeping quarters for the night. However, another Flutter Pony was watching them. She was a bright neon orange color, with yellow hair, and sun symbol on her hindquarters. She wanted to be queen of the Flutter Ponies, and she going to. Once the moon rose, she made her move. She made sure she had everything in her pouch and flew to find Rosedust. The Flutter Pony checked every single sleeping area until she found Rosedust. She advanced toward her, and then Rosedust woke up.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"The future queen of the Flutter Ponies," the strange Flutter Pony answered.
"What do you mean? I'm queen of the Flutter Ponies."
"Not for long, dearie."
The Flutter Pony reached in her pouch and took out a roll of duct tape. She managed to rip a long piece off and wrapped it around Rosedust's mouth. She couldn't open it. Then the Flutter Pony took some rope out of her pouch and managed to tie it around Rosedust's front and back legs. Then she used some more rope to tie down her wings. Then the Flutter Pony managed to get Rosedust on her back and took off.
The next morning, Forget-Me-Not, Peach Blossom, and Honeysuckle were flying around, making sure everything was in order. Morning Glory and Lily were visiting Bumbleland, bringing Queen Bumble and her bees some flowers. As the other three Flutter Ponies were fluttering about, a strange Flutter Pony flew toward the Sun Stone.
"Greetings, Flutter Ponies," she said.
"Who are you?" Honeysuckle asked.
"My name's Sunny," the Flutter Pony said. "Queen Sunny to you."
"What do you mean Queen Sunny?" Peach Blossom asked. "Rosedust is our queen."
"Where is Rosedust anyway?" Forget-Me-Not asked.
"Oh nowhere important," Sunny said. "I'm your queen now, Flutter Ponies."
"I don't know about this," Honeysuckle said. "I don't trust her!"
"Is that anyway to talk to your queen?" Sunny asked. She looked at the other Flutter Ponies and her eyes began to look different.
"I am your queen," she said. Forget-Me-Not, Peach Blossom, and Honeysuckle looked into Sunny's eyes and began to feel different.
"All hail Sunny," they said. "Queen of the Flutter Ponies."
"I knew you'd see it my way," Sunny said. "Come, Flutter Ponies. You have some serving to do."
After awhile, Morning Glory and Lily returned to Flutter Valley, and found Forget-Me-Not, Honeysuckle, and Peach Blossom gathering flowers.
"What's going on?" Lily asked.
"We are gathering flowers for Queen Sunny," Forget-Me-Not said, in a strange monotone voice.
"Huh?" Morning Glory asked. "Queen Sunny? Who's she?"
"Queen of the Flutter Ponies," Honeysuckle said, in the same monotone as Forget-Me-Not.
"Uhh, no, Honeysuckle," Morning Glory said. "Rosedust is Queen of the Flutter Ponies, remember?"
"Sunny is Queen of the Flutter Ponies," Peach Blossom said, in that same monotone.
"Where is Rosedust, anyway?" Morning Glory asked.
"All hail Sunny," the three Flutter Ponies said in unison. "Queen of the Flutter Ponies."
Morning Glory and Lily looked at them as if they were crazy. They were about to ask what was going on, when Sunny flew up to the group.
"What's going on here?!" she shouted. "Why aren't you two working?!"
"Working?" Lily asked. "Working on what?"
"Gathering flowers for me, of course!" Sunny shouted. "I demand fresh flowers surrounding me at all times! Now hurry up and bring me my flowers!"
"Yes, Queen Sunny," Forget-Me-Not, Honeysuckle, and Peach Blossom monotoned, and immediately got back to work.
Morning Glory and Lily looked at each other again. Something strange was going on. But they decided to do what Sunny said, for the time being.
"I don't know," Lily said. "But look at their eyes, Morning Glory. They look like they're in some kind of trance."
"I think you're right, Lily," Morning Glory said. "I wonder what happened?"
"I have a feeling that Sunny had something to do with it," Lily said. "We have to find Rosedust! She could be in trouble!"
"Where could she be?"
"I don't know. If you were an evil Flutter Pony who wanted to be queen, where would you hide the real queen?"
Morning Glory thought it over. She was at a loss, and so was Lily. Then they decided to spy on Sunny. Maybe they'd learn something. That night, they watched Sunny leave Flutter Valley.
"Let's follow her," Lily whispered.
"Right," Morning Glory replied.
