Of Origin And Endings
The world changed on the 24th of November, 1859. For, on that fateful day, Charles Darwin published a theory. A theory that took humanities core ideas and left us with nothing but questions.
"Who are we? What is our purpose? And most importantly, where did we come from?"
Long gone were the beliefs of a greater being creating our world in seven days. The new world was emerging and the theory of evolution had implanted itself into the minds of the youth.
The very idea that we may be descended from animals was a strange one at the time. It was unheard of and crazy, but it was also wild and full of possibilities.
Are we man or are we animal?
Blaine Anderson strolled through the outskirts of Westerville, Ohio pondering over such a question.
What are we?
He didn't know. Maybe he never would. He's never had any desire to find his origins or to pinpoint exactly were he was meant to be and did that make him inferior to others? No way.
He silently reassured himself as he turned the corner and saw the old theatre he currently resigned in. Unlike others, who caused themselves unnecessary inconvenience questioning their beginnings, he looked towards his future. The place were he truly belonged, on stage with his friends and family.
By "friends and family" he wasn't referring to those traitors from the new directions; Rachel who wrote a show that was basically about him and refused to let him act in in. Kurt who, despite Blaine staying with him (even when other guys had hit on him) and only cheating on him twice, left to start dating Sebastian Smythe of all people. Tina and Sam both abandoned him because apparently he was being "selfish" and they had to "move on with their lives".
They weren't worth his time. Not anymore.
He climbed the crooked steps leading to the seating area. The red door, chipped to reveal pieces of brown wood beneath, creaked as he pushed it open.
Whether he could answer that never-before answered question or not, it didn't matter.
As he looked onwards, up on to the stage to see his real family, he just knew. At the sight of miss piggy combing her hair, Kermit tapping his feett and the swedish chef wrangling with his chicken, Blaine knew.
That as long as he had the Muppets, no matter what the outcome was, he'd always have someone to catch him on the other side.
AN: I'm sorry it just happened
