Words Aren't Enough
Chapter 1
Waves crashed against the shore. The sun begining to set in the sky. A combination of the colors orange and yellow were showcased in the sky.
The girls were covered in sand and their faces hurt from smiling so much. In t shirts and shorts joining hands. Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer. Age raced away from the beach and towards the large beach house that was in front of them.
Victoria and Ted Davis had bought the entire beach. While Victoria was pregnant with Brooke. The beach house that came along with it had been run down practically abandoned. Ted hired a crew of men to fix it up. Over the years they returned to this retreat during summer breaks or when they were in desperate need to reconnect as a family.
The couple stayed a far distance away from the young teenagers. The parents all huddled around the bonfire. Ted, Victoria, Deb, and Dan. Who had bought their son Nathan along as always. He and Brooke had been lifelong friends.
Karen trudged forward. Keeping her eyes on Deb.
Who smiled warmly at her.
"I'm glad you and Lucas could make it. There is plenty of food and drinks for everyone. Make yourself comfortable Karen." Deb said.
"I just figured since the truth about our sons is public news for everyone in town it was about time that they spend real time together and have the chance to build a relationship." Karen Roe said.

Lucas scanned the crowd of teenagers. Avoiding the gaze of his half brother Nathan.
Brooke smiled up at him.
He smiled back at her.

"Lucas isn't of us. He is my father's other son. That's it." Nathan said.
Brooke stared back at him. "I get it nothing more needs to be said." She shook her head in agreement and hugged her best friend tightly. Before getting into her parent's car.

Years Later
His words lingered in her mind throughout the remainder of their middle school and all throughout their shared high school existance whenever she saw Lucas in class or the hallway.
The group went their seperate ways for college. 4 years later they all resurfaced for the wedding of Peyton and Jake. Nathan's in the NBA, Brooke has her fashion line and Lucas is a writer. Haley became a singer.
Having the official title of best man and maid of honor. Brooke and Lucas can't seem to avoid each other no matter how hard they try.
