"Wild Kratts! Wild Kratts!"
Chris and Martin stormed to the big screen in the HQ. Martin was in his bathrobe and Chris had one boot on and the other thrown across the room. Laura came in wearing her hot pink robe and her hair in a towel. Koki and jimmy sat up from their hammocks... Aviva still lay quiet on her hammock, not noticing the commotion.
Gavin and Cadan were on the big screen. Behind them was a tank full of fish and water. Chris and Martin welcomed the children.
Cadan said, "Wild Kratts... We got new fish for our tank but something doesn't seem right."
Gavin answered, "We have the water checked and treated accordingly..."
Cadan continued, "And treated the fish with medicine so they don't pass diseases."
Gavin finished, "We need your help."
Martin said, "Ha! An adventure in a fish tank? That works fine for me."
Chris smiled, "Fish likes all kinds of hiding places. While we're on our way, ask your parents to get some more fish plants. We're coming."
"Thanks Wild Kratts!"
Martin and Chris looked at each other. Martin said, "I can't wait for an adventure in the fish tank."
Chris fished around for his boot and slipped it on his foot, "Yeah. Let's get dressed for swimming. Aviva has the minitizer. Aviva... Aviva?"
Koki answered, "She's still in bed, asleep."
Martin smiled, "Aw! The girl needs her beauty sleep."
Chris groaned, "But we need that minitizer! Only she knows where it is."
Koki said, "We're not going to bother Aviva. She had a bad night last night dealing with your two."
Martin and Chris shattered as the memory occurred in their minds...
*Flashback*
"I told you two to not play with the creature power suits until AFTER I update them!"
Chris said, "But we needed them so badly to go flying... Flying to catch up with the osprey."
Aviva groaned, "Guys... I don't care whether you were flying or swimming. I have to update the creature power suits every so often."
Martin smiled, "How long does it take?"
Aviva answered, "A long time."
Chris said, "What are we supposed to do during that time?"
Aviva answered, "I don't know. That's your problem. Go do your manly things."
Martin grinned, "Laura and I can spend time together."
Chris frowned, "You always hang out with Laura... I'm just a distraction now."
Martin looked at Chris, "Silly bro... If you were so uptight, you would be a married man... Just like me."
Chris frowned, "Being a married man has its ups and downs... You are so prideful."
Martin took Laura by the shoulders, "Honey! I think I need some alone time."
Chris groaned and tightened his fists. He turned and picked up his creature power suit while Aviva was distraction and slipped it on and left the Tortuga... by himself.
Minutes later, his creature pod went off, "Chris, where's your creature power suit?"
"Aviva... I got nothing to do except just sit around doing nothing. The oil of the Createrra was changed yesterday. All the inventions has been oiled also... I got nothing to do."
"Chris, I'm sorry, but that's your problem. I need to get that power suit updated. It'll just take a couple hours."
"A couple hours?! What am I supposed to do?"
"I don't know. Run off with some animals like you used to."
Chris groaned and took off his power suit, "Have Jimmy transport it... I'm not in the mood right now."
In a split second, the creature power suit was transported. Chris looked to the setting sun and sighed. Minutes later, he heard a soft voice, "CK?"
"Aviva? What do you want?"
Aviva next a couple feet from Chris and said, "I noticed how you have been really grumpy lately."
Chris looked at the sun, "Oh, so you just noticed... I have been like this since Martin was married in the first place... He's replacing me very slowly. Am I even in this world?"
Aviva smiled, "Chris, you are real to Martin as you are to us. You're no spirit that we pretend to talk to. Martin just has a lot of responsiblities now as a married man."
Chris sighed and looked away, "I wish that I kept to myself."
"CK?"
"I wish I never stepped out of that closet to receive a gift of bullets in my neck. Had I stayed in the closet, I would be still living in the forests of Kansas."
Aviva sighed, "Your parents would still find a way to contact you to the world."
Chris looked at Aviva, "Really? Then, why did they refuse to let me stay with Martin in the first place?"
"They were just scared, CK."
"Doesn't matter, Aviva. Dad told me that it was my decision if I wanted to leave the forests when I got older... Now that I'm older, I wished I had stayed home."
Aviva answered, "No matter what you choose, Chris... The forests would always be your enemy. Chris, you nearly died in the forest fire. The last time we checked, it was still trying to recover from the forest fire nine years ago."
Chris looked at Aviva and then looked to the sun, "Aren't you busy with the creature power suits being updated?"
Aviva frowned, "I'm trying to be a friend and comfort you."
Chris said, "I don't need friends..."
Aviva stood up, "Fine! You better not come crying to me when you have a girlfriend and she leaves you the second you act like this," Then, she stomped away to the Tortuga.
Chris looked at the sun and said, "That's why I'll never have a girlfriend in the first place."
*End of Flashback*
Chris was quiet after remembering his side of the past. Martin said, "We'll let her rest. Come on, Laura. Let's get dressed."
Chris watched Martin and Laura go to their bedroom. He started to tear up as Koki went to give Jimmy the moniter to get to the boys' house.
Chris reached for a ladder and climbed to Aviva's hammock. With a gentle tap on her shoulder, the girl woke up in a flash, "What do you want?"
Chris groaned, "I'm sorry by how I reacted last night... I was just... well, not in the mood to deal with my attitude. I am so, so sorry."
Aviva sat up and said, "I told you not to come crying to me, Chris. Now go away!"
Chris climbed down, without saying one word. He folded the ladder up and put it away. The creature power suits sat on the table waiting to be used. Martin came back into the HQ and slipped his creature power suit over him. He turned to Chris as he slipped the gloves on, "Aren't you going to get your suit on?"
"I don't need it. You're the swimming brother..."
"Okay... I guess," Martin answered.
Jimmy landed the Tortuga outside Gavin and Cadan's house. A ramp went out to the window and both brothers climbed in the house.
Cadan cried, "Hey, Kratt brothers! We got some more fishy stuff."
Martin cheered, "Great job, guys."
Gavin smiled, "We also got more medicine and stuff just in case."
Chris turned the creature pod on, "Koki, we need the minitizer."
Koki smiled, "No need for that. Jimmy's sending it now."
In a flash, the militizer transported into Chris' hand. Chris flipped it to the floor and Martin was first to jump unto it, "Come on, bro!"
Chris hestitated, "I'm staying here so I can help the children level the meds if the fish needs it."
Martin strugged his shoulders, "Alright then."
Chris reached down and picked up his small older brother and threw him in the fish tank. Martin began swimming with the pet fish.
"Hey, guys! What a great day to go swimming! Well, basically, you guys always swim, even on your bad days."
Gavin and Cadan laughed as Martin talked to the fish. Chris took out the medicines and read the instructions and information it provided.
Martin said, "There isn't enough hiding places for the fish. Just throw in a couple plants."
Cadan threw in a pink plant and a green plant. Martin took the pink one and swam downwards and moved the gravel and planted the fake plant and covered it with the pebbles. He did the same for the green fake plant.
As Martin planted a fish nipped him on the back. Martin jumped and said, "Why, hello, Mr. Fish Dolittles! What are you pecking at me for?"
The fish didn't say anything. As Martin played and talked, the children laughed and cheered. Chris got so annoyed with it that he had to go to the ramp and spread out the medicines.
He searched through the creature pod internet services for more information. He was not acting normal and he knew it.
Martin was soon tired of swimming and reached for the surface, "Where's Chris? If you have to, push him to the militizer and get him in here. He's missing the fun."
Cadan answered, "Where did he go?"
Martin raised an eyebrow, "I swear I don't understand him sometimes."
Gavin cried, "Uh... Martin! Dolittles think your flakes of food."
Martin screamed and splashed in the water. The children put their hands in the water, crying for Martin to get into their hands. Martin swam to the sunken ship decor and looked out of the hole. Dolittles looked at him with his button eye and swam around and around. Martin activated his creature pod and called his brother.
Chris answered his creature pod, "How's swimming, bro?"
"Uh... Chris. I got a tiny problem here. I can't get to the surface because Dolittles here thinks I'm food... I need to get the surface bad."
"Ask the children to get you out."
"I can't... They tried, but Dolittles is smart. I need your help. Stop acting like a baby and help me."
Chris frowned, "I'm not a baby... I'm trying to gather information about these fish medicines."
"Chris! I need your help!"
The creature pod zapped out. Chris stood up and walked into the boys' room. Cadan was pointing at the sunken ship, "Martin's in there, Chris!"
Chris reached his hand in and cupped the holes with his hand. But Dolittles nipped Chris' skin, which didn't even hurt. As Chris lifted the ship, the fish followed the hand. Martin came out of the ship and said, "Thanks, bro..."
Dolittles was not done. He took a leap as Martin climbed to Chris' hand. Dolittles took a fish hook grab on Martin... and fell back into the water. This time, Chris was shocked.
Dolittles brought Martin lower down the tank. Chris said, "How big is this tank?"
Gavin thought, "About 80 gallons."
Chris said, "This fish is smart and fast. I can't get Martin from him."
Cadan said, "Try getting in the tank, Chris."
"I am much too big, guys."
"Use the minitizer!"
Chris knew he had to help Martin. He leaped unto the minitizer and went mini size. Gavin picked Chris and threw him into the tank.
Chris was used to swimming in deep parts, but finding out he didn't have his mask, he reached the surface, "I don't have my mask..."
Cadan said, "I'll run to the Tortuga and get it..."
Chris said, "Don't forget to mini size it, Cadan."
Gavin said, "You have to save Martin, Chris!"
Chris held his breath and went under. As he swam deeper, pressure, even in a fish tank, built up. Dolittles saw Chris and eyed him. He had Martin trapped in a moonstone that had one entrance.
Chris saw Dolittles and swam towards the fish. Dolittles picked up his pace and crashed his mouth on water. Chris jerked away and reached for the surface and let out a hard gasp, 'I need... need... my mask!"
Cadan came running in, "I got it!"
Gavin activated the minitizer, "Put it on the minitizer, Cadan!"
Cadan put the mask on the minitizer and the mask went slowly. Chris was waiting earnestly, but he cried out, "Help!"
Dolittles caught Chris... Or was it Dolittles? Chris held his breath which built up in his head as painful needles. Another type of fish came by and hooked Chris in his mouth. Chris couldn't breathe much longer. Martin was cryong out for Chris, still trapped by Dolittles.
Chris let his breath go... He draped over the fish in pain... He felt the water about him being fished around. Soon, he was coughing and breathing.
"He's alive!"
Chris opened his eyes as a blue light blinded him. As the light went away, he saw Gavin and Cadan standing side by side of Aviva, whose eyes were widened with fright.
Chris sat up, "Martin..." Then, he fell backwards back on the minitizer, exhausted.
Aviva stood up, "Okay, kids. Show me where Martin is."
Martin fished his hand, "I'm there. Aviva..."
Aviva smiled, "Looks like not just Laura is a lucky one. Dolittles seem to hook and line Martin," She fished her hand to the moonrock. Martin quickly swam to the safety of her hand and Aviva pulled him out. Martin said, "Get me away from that tank!"
Aviva walked over to the minitizer and opened her hand. Martin shook himself and stood up, "Thanks, Aviva!"
"You're welcome, Martin. You have to hang around a little bit until we get Chris in the Tortuga."
"Is he okay?"
"Because he wasn't prepared, he has a minor concussion. He's in serious pain for all that pressure push unto him."
"Will he be okay?"
"He'll be fine."
Gavin and Cadan said, "So, what's wrong with the fish?"
Martin laughed, "In my opinion, I think they're scared of Dolittle and his mate. Those fish are mating. Nothing's wrong with them really."
Cadan cheered, "We're going to have baby fishies!"
That evening, the gang went to bed later than usual. Martin and Laura were already in bed. Aviva lay awake pretending she was asleep. Once the gang was asleep, she slipped out of her hammock and went over to Chris' sleeping bag and wiped her fingers over his hair.
Chris looked up and said, "What?"
"Just checking on you. You gave me quite a scare in that tank."
Chris got closer to Aviva and lay his head on her lap, "I'm sorry... I had to save Martin..."
"But next time, consider being prepared, promise?"
Chris looked up, "I promise."
Aviva fixed her and fixed herself in Chris' sleeping bag. Chris was wide eyed, "What are you doing?"
"Just getting comfortable," She answered as she rolled to her side closest to Chris and closed her eyes. Chris looked around to see if anyone was watching. Aviva looked up, "Aren't you going to sleep or stay awake all night?"
Chris got himself comfortable and tried to stay from Aviva. But she got closer and snuggled up to Chris.
