AN: This is the longest thing I have written so far. We know that everything that happened in the books and the show was because of Rhaegar and Lyanna, but what would happen if the truth got out. Feel free to tell me if I made any mistakes and leave your review.

Dragons peace

The loyalist force lead by the crown prince Rhaegar Targaryen arrived at the Trident, there the prince saw the rebels army in their camp on the other side of the river. His forces numbered around forty thousand man and he knew that the rebels forced numbered slightly less. Beside the prince on their horses stood the three members of the kingsguard Barristan Selmy, Lewyn Martell and Jonothor Darry each looking in the same direction as the prince.

"Its going to be a difficult battle, but we do have more men. We will be able to win." said Jonothor. The prince stayed silent.

"It a shame that all of those man will die for nothing." said ser Barristan.

Rheagar spoke in a calm and determent voice "What if they don't need to?"

The three knights looked at each other, they did not know what their prince meant by that. Prince Lewyn was the one who asked "What do you mean? Robert wont surrender, he rather die than bend the knee. And the other support him."

"I'm mean that they don't need to die, all that we need to avoid unnecessary bloodshed is to speak with the lords who lead them."

"And how will you achieve that?"

"I want someone to deliver a message to the rebel leaders for me. Tell them that I wish to parley."

"Your grace? You cant!" protested ser Darry.

"I will go." said ser Barristan. "I'm from the Stormlands, Robert will listen to me."

"Tell them that I wish to meet them tomorrow, I will arrive alone as a sign of good will. We will meet on their side of the river, out side the camp."

"You cant! Robert will kill you. At least let us go with you."

"Those are my orders ser Barristan, now go." The knight nodded and road of to the rebel encampment.

"If I do may ask, what do you intend to tell them?" asked Lewyn.

"The truth."

The two knights were now even more confused "The truth?"

"Yes the truth that we should have told when this all started."

Ser Barristan rode in the rebels camp, the eyes of everyone present were pointed in his direction. He stopped few meters into the camp and asked to speak with the lords who lead them. A man quickly ran to the commanders tent.

The soldier entered the tent panting and out of breath, the four man there were looking at the large map when he arrived.

"What is it?" asked Robert Baratheon.

"A-A kingsguard…" the man stopped to catch his breath.

"Spit it out!" ordered Robert.

"A kingsguard is here, he wishes to speak with you, my lords." The four looked at each other, lord Jon Arryn was the one to speak first.

"Bring him here, we will listen what he has to say." The soldier did not waste time, he immediately ran off again to get the knight.

"Why would they send a kingsguard to talk with us?" asked Eddard.

"Maybe Rheagar wants to surrender." Brynden Tully said jokingly.

Lord Arryn sat back into his chair and answered "I'm not sure, but it seems we are about to find out."

Ser Barristan Selmy was brought to the commanders tent by a group of men, once they entered it the men were ordered to leave.

"Ser Barristan, what brings you here?" asked the Blackfish.

The knight bowed slightly "My lords I come here baring a message from prince Rheager, he wishes to parley."

"What!" yelled Robert, the large man stud over the table, his hands griping the edge. It looked like he was ready to flip the table at any moment.

"What do you mean?" asked Eddard.

"The prince does not wish for thousands of men to die needlessly. He is wiling to speak with you. He will meet you tomorrow on your side of the Trident."

"Parley! That son of a whore kidnapped the woman that was to be my wife. You think I will let him leave alive!"

Eddard put one hand of Roberts shoulder, to witch the storm lord reacted by looking at his best friend. "Robert, we need to give him a chance, lets at least hear out what he has to say."

"Ned, for gods sake, he kidnapped your sister and you are ready to let him come and talk to us."

"I'm." Robert looked at his foster brother with a mixture of surprise and anger. The bastard prince took Lyanna away from him, all he wanted was to see her safe in his arms and Rhaegers corps beneath his feet. It surprised him how calm Eddard was in this situation, no matter the circumstances the silent wolf was always calmer then him. Right now he just wanted to rip Rhaegers head off.

"Ned is right, lets at least hear him out." said Jon Arryn.

Robert sighed "Alright, but if I find out that he hurt Lyanna in any way I will kill him on the spot!"

"This better not be some a trick Barristan:" said Eddard.

"I swear upon my honor it is not."

"Fair enough. Tell your prince we accept. We will meet him tomorrow." said the Blackfish.

"Thank you my lord. I will inform the prince." The knight exited the tent and went to his horse, After he mounted the animal, he gave one last look at the tent "I hope this turns out well." and then he rode off back to the loyalist side of the river. Once he arrived he informed the prince that the rebel lords agreed to speak with him.

"Good, lets hope that this will be enough to stop the bloodshed."

"Your grace, if I do may suggest that you don't go there alone, take us with you."

"I cant, I gave my word that I will come alone and I will." Ser Barristan sighed, his prince was truly a good and honorable man. Rheagar will someday make a fine king and if the gods allow him to survive this battle he will be there to see it. "You can go now ser Barristan."

"As you wish." The knight bowed and exited the tent. Prince Rheagar walked over to a small chest and out of it pulled a letter. He held it in his hand and stared at it for a moment. "If only we told them form the start, things might have been different. I just hope that tomorrows talks work if not many will die, too many. I just hope that I don't need to fight Ned, if I kill him you would never forgive me and I would lose everything i love. And if he kills me …. "The prince thought for a second what will happen if he dies here. Robert will win and then march on the capital to take the city and kill his father. Not so long ago he was the one with plans to overthrow his father but that dream was shattered at Harrenhal when the mad king arrived out of nowhere. But if everything goes as planed tomorrow that dream might live again and peace might be broth back to this land. Who would have known their love would cause so much suffering. The prince sat down in a chair and continued thinking about the woman he loved the most, his wife Lyanna Stark.

The morning came quickly, when ser Barristan came into the royal tent he saw that the prince was already up and in full armor. The armor was black with a three headed dragon of house Targaryen made out of rubies on his chest plate.

"Sleep well your grace?"

The prince chuckled "No, not really. Actually I did not sleep at all."

"Worried about the talks?"

"Yes, I know that lord Arryn and Brynden Tully will listen to what I have to say but I'm not so sure about Eddard Stark and Robert."

"I wouldn't worry that much about lord Eddard, my prince. To me he seems as man who does not let his emotions get the better of him, unlike Robert."

"The words of house Baratheon are after all Ours if the fury." the prince said with a smile.

The kingsguard laughed at the joke. Robert really did personify those words. "Yes they are."

"Is the horse ready?"

"Yes my prince."

"Good, lets hope this turns out well for us." The prince saddled his horse and road off to the rebel side. His three kingsuard followed him but only to their side of the river. It was on the other side where the rebel lords and prince Rheagar met.

"Good morning my lords." said the prince as he approached the group. They greeted him back, all but Robert who watched the prince with his murderess eyes.

"You asked us to parley, then lets talk." said Jon Arryn.

"I came here to ask you noble lords and your bannermen to stand down. I wish to avoid the deaths of these men who came here following us."

"Stand down, Ha. You are as mad as your father." said Robert "I will not rest until Lyanna is back here is safe hands."

"She is safe I assure you. No harm has come to her." Robert was ready to take his warhammer and smash the prince with it but Eddard managed to keep him under control.

"As you see we aren't going to surrender and I know that you aren't just going lay down your arms either. Then tell us what is the point of this?" said Brynden.

"I came here to tell you the truth."

"Explain." said lord Eddard.

"I did not kidnap Lyanna, we ran away together."

Robert could not hold his fury any more, it burst out like a raging storm. "Lies! You took her away, you took her away from me. You weren't pleased with your wife Elia, so you just had to take someone else."

"You are wrong cousin, I did not take her because I lust over her. We ran away together because we love each other. I would never hurt a hair on her head." The prince turned his gaze to the northern lord "I swear to you Eddard I would never harm Lyanna. I would gladly give my life for her." Eddard noticed the sincerity in the princes voice, it seemed like he was telling the truth.

"And how do I know that this is true, do you have any proof?" asked Ned.

"Yes I do." The prince pulled out a small letter and gave it to the lord. "This is it. Lyanna wrote it for you." Ned took the letter in his hands and opened it immediately noticing that it was his sisters handwriting. He carefully read every word inside the letter and it confirmed everything the prince said. He took a few moments to process the information.

"Ned? Ned whats it say?" Roberts booming voice woke the young lord.

"H-he is telling the truth."

"What?"

"This is Lyannas handwriting. These are her words in this letter." Robert did not believe his friend, this must be some kind of a trick to fool them into laying down their arms. Ned handed the letter to Jon Arryn who read it as well.

"If this is true, then why did not you bring Lyanna her with you?" asked the lord of the Vale.

The prince sighed, he knew that this moment would come. "The reason I did not bring Lyanna here instead of this letter is because she is pregnant with my child. The trip would have been too exhausting for her. We didn't want there to be any complications with the baby." Those words finally set Robert Baratheon over the edge. His beloved Lyanna would never conceive a child with a man like him. He must have raped her. The storm lord lifted his hammer and charged at the dragon prince. Rheagar only had few seconds to react, he managed to pull out his sword and block the incoming attack. As soon as they saw it the three kingsguard rode to assist their prince. Ned yelled at his friend to stop but Robert did not listen, he only continued swinging his mighty war hammer and the prince matched every blow that was thrown at him. Shield in one hand and sword in the other prince fought valiantly, his grace and speed against Roberts strength and fury. Then finally Robert managed to knock the dragon prince to the ground with a strike of his hammer. As he was about to lift his weapon to deliver a finishing blow a sword found itself pointed at the storm lord. Robert looked up expecting to see Barristan or Lewyn but neither was there, instead of them there stud Eddard Stark his sword in hand. Robert did not believe that his best friend would ever betray him, but now there was sword belonging to Ned Stark pointed at him.

"Ned?" Robert asked in confusion.

"I'm sorry old friend but I believe him. Killing him wouldn't be right."

"How can you believe him?"

"Rheagar was always a man of honor. He is not a man who would just steal someones wife. And Lyanna..." the lord of Winterfell paused for a second "She is wild, she has the wolves blood in her just like our brother Brandon. Running off is something she might do." The lord on Stormsend stared at his friend refusing to believe his words.

"No! That is not true."

"I'm sorry Robert. But that's the truth." The storm lord lowered his weapon and looked at the crown prince and then back at Ned again. He did not say word, he only mounted his horse and rode back to the camp refusing to speak a word. Ned offered the hand to the prince, who immediately took it. Eddard lifted the prince off the ground asked what will happen next.

"He will sulk a bit, drink himself to oblivion and fuck half of whores in the kingdoms like he usually those but it will pass eventually. Being left by a women is a nasty thing especially if she leaves you for your cousin." said the Blackfish.

"I will go after him." said lord Arryn. The prince turned to look if by some chance an army isn't charging in their direction but it wasn't. He only saw his three fateful kingsguard behind him.

"So what do we do now?" asked Ned.

"Now we talk some more." said the prince. The prince and his guards went to the rebel camp where they spoke about what do to next. The prince asked for the support of the rebel lords in overthrowing his mad father. After some careful discussion the lords of the Riverlands, the Vale and the North agreed. Jon Arryn and Brandon Tully believed that the mad king needed to be taken of the iron throne if there was ever a chance of peace in the seven kingdoms while Ned wanted justice for his father and brother. The prince assured them that all will be done and that his father rain of terror will end. The lords asked if his army will join there's to which the prince agreed. His army was loyal to the crown but was more loyal to him then to his father. With their combined force they should be able to take the city with ease and overthrow the mad king. As the men were discussing further plans Eddard asked what were they going to do with Robert.

"It depends in what state he is in and if he wants to come with us at all." said the Blackfish. The men werent sure what were they going to do with Robert, he was the head of the rebel army. Well at least he was, now the leader would be prince Rheagar. It was then when the storm lord walked into the tent, half drunk and with the upper half of his armor missing.

"Robert?" said the prince.

"I heard what you said. You wish to overthrow Ares and put yourself on the throne with the help of my army." The prince stared at the drunken lord "That was my plan. To kill all of you Targaryens..."

Robert was cut off by the prince "Last time I checked you had Targaryen blood in you as well."

"Shut up! I'm not finished. And to take the throne… but now things have changed. I would still love nothing more then to kill you but I wont. If you want to combine our to armies and march to the capital you will not do it without me." Storm lord gave a large smile "They support you and so will I, but if you do something remotely similar to your father I swear I will raise an army and I will take you down from that throne."

"Noted," The prince outstretched one hand towards Robert "I will not become like my father, you have my word cousin." Robert grasped the princes hand firmly. "Now all that remains is for us to ready our troops for a march to Kingslanding. I will go to my camp and ready my men. I expect you to do the same."

"The men will be ready by tomorrow." said Jon Arryn. The prince nodded and left the commanders tent with his royal guards. "Well you heard the prince, lets get to it."

Robert laughed and took another sip from the wine bottle "I will get the men ready, dont you worry." Robert exited the tent and grabbed the first man he saw. The storm lord toward over the small Manderly soldier "Spread the word, we march for Kingslanding tomorrow." Robert let go of the man "You heard me, get going!" the man did as he was told as fast as he could. Robert shouted the order few more times to the men around him and they quickly did as they were ordered. The Baratheon continued to go around the camp letting the men know to get ready.

"That's one way to do things." said the Blackfish.

Meanwhile at the loyalist camp, when the prince told his men about his plan there were objections against it and him but Rheagar managed to sway them by promising that he does not intend to kill his father only to remove him from power. After some more careful negotiation the bannermen agreed.

The day after a mighty army left the shores of the Trident and set off for the capital. The army numbered around eighty thousand man being bolstered by five thousandth men from house Frey.

As soon as the word of the mighty army being led by prince Rheagar reached Casterly Rock, Tywin Lannister mobilized his forces numbering around ten thousand and marched to join the crown prince. Once the two armies came together the rebels had ninety thousand men, the largest force Westeros was seen since the day of Aegons conquest. As the army marched to the capital Ned approached Robert, he wanted to ask him something.

"What really changed your mind? I know that it wasn't because of his words."

"You said it yourself the letter was hers. I still love her Ned and I always will but if she really loves him that much then who am I to stand against her happiness. I'm doing this for her, as I did everything before. But if I find out that he tricked us I will smash his head into pieces with my hammer." The two men looked at the crown prince riding in front of them.

"He is telling the truth. I know it." said Eddard.

The day came when they reached the capital of Kingslanding, the large army encircled the city from all sides. Prince Rheagar begged the defenders of the city to stand down and open the gates but they refused. The mad king Ares who sat on the iron throne in the Red keep was enraged that his son had joined the rebels. His sons betrayal did not surprise him, the king suspected that his first born son had plans to overthrow him for some time. No one was going to take his kingdom from him, this city will not be taken and if it does they will all burn for their treason.

The rebels carefully drawn out the plan of attack The Westerlands, the Riverlands and the northern forces will try to scale the walls while the Vale, the stormlanders the Dornish and the Reach forces will attack the gates. With a bit of luck the defenders will quickly surrender and the battle will be over. The battle for the city commenced with the Lannsiter and Stark forces attacking first and the rest shortly after. The battle was fierce but the defenders were too few and it was starting to show. The first gate to go down was the Mud gate with the first man inside the city being Robert Baratheon. The army pored into the city from all sides all the defenders quickly surrendered. Now all that remained was the Red keep. Shortly after Robert broke down the gate, the mad king received the word that the rebels were inside the city. The king ordered his pyromancer to use the wildfire, to burn them all. After hearing the kings words the young knight knew that he had to make a choice. He killed the pyromancer as soon as the man had stepped out of the throne room. Then he returned to the king, now he had a much harder choice to make either kill the king or let him live. His sword in hand the young man was ready to strike the mad man down but he decided otherwise, he sheathed his sword.

After some short time the rebels came to the gates of the Red keep, the prince once again told the defenders to stand down and this time they obliged and opened the gate. The rebels entered the keep and marched to the throne room, as they were about to enter it they noticed the pyromancers body on the floor. Prince Rheagar pushed the doors of the throne room open and walked inside. Beside him stood Eddard Stark, Robert Baratheon, Jon Arryn and Brynden Tully on his right and Tywin Lannister, Barristan Selmy, Lewyn Martell and Jonothor Darry on the left.

"It is over father, we won."

"You won nothing my son. You will all burn soon."

"They wont." the king turned to his remaining kingsguard "I killed the pyromancer, this city will not burn today."

"What? Traitors all of you. You will die for this!"

The prince approached his father "No more men will die today father. Not by your hands. Ser Barristan, ser Lewyn take my father to his room and guard him."

"Yes my prince." the both knights said in unison. They took the man old man to his chambers and kept their watch over him.

"Ser Jaime are Elia and my children alright?

"Yes my prince, they are unharmed."

"Good, will you bring them here for me?"

"At once your grace." As the young knight passed beside the group he couldn't not stare in his father. The king and his father where once friends and now Tywin was the one of the men overthrowing the king.

The prince walked over to the throne and sat on it while the others watch. Tywin was the first to speak.

"What are your orders my king?"

"First we need to bring things here under control then we will take care of the rest."

"My castle has been under siege for a year now, I would appreciate If you would send word to Mace Tyrell that the war is over and that he can get the fuck out of my lands!" said Robert.

"It will be done Robert. Ser Jonothor tell the maester to send a message to lord Tyrell."

"At once."

Several moments passed, the men were still discussing their next plan of action when the princes daughter Rhaenys ran into the large room. "Daddy!" shouted the girl. At that moment the prince could not describe how happy he was to see his child, he got up from the throne and took the silver haired girl in his arms and lifted her up. "You came, I knew you would come back."

"I'm here, daddy is never going to leave again I promise." It was then when Elia entered the room carrying the little Aegon in her arms. She looked at the group of men that were there, she never expected to see Rheagar in the company of these men, especially Robert. She slowly approached her husband and he went to meet her.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all of this. I never planed for this to happen. Can you forgive me?"

She looked at him with her compassionate eyes "There's nothing to forgive my prince. All that is important now is that it is all over." The new king looked at his son and daughter, a large smile found itself on Rheagar lips. Robert was displeased with the scene, the prince said that he loved Lyanna yet to him this scene proved otherwise The storm lord wanted to say something but was stopped by Ned.

After the situation in Kingslanding stabilized Rheagar, Ned and Robert set off on their journey to Dorn. The new king left lords Tywin and Jon to rule the land until he returns. First the trio went to Stormsend to see what had happened to Stannis and the ones defending the castle. Robert thought that most would be dead by now but that wasn't the case. They were all alive thanks to no small part to a smuggler who managed to get some onions into the castle. After that they continued to Dorn.

Once they arrived in Dorn at the Tower of joy the three men where greeted by the remaining members of the kingsguard lord commander Gerold Hightower, Arthur Dane and Oswell Whent.

The three kingsguard were greatly surprised to see the two rebels lords beside their prince.

"Your grace, its good to see you are well." said the lord commander.

"Thank you Gerold, its good to see you too once again."

"It seems you decided to surrender lord Baratheon."

Robert was slightly angered by the mans words "I did not surrender! I would have rather died than surrender.!"

"My cousin is right, the rebels did not surrender." The three knights were confused "The rebels army and my army joined forces and took the capital form my father."

A dark thought crossed Arthur Danes mind "My prince you didn't?"

"Don't worry Arthur I did not kill my father, he might be mad but he is still my father. I took the throne and now we come here to get my wife."

"Your grace there is something you should know. Lady Lyanna is in labor as we speak."

"What?" asked Eddard.

"Thank you my brave knights for protecting her, I owe you a lot."

"You own us nothing your grace. It is our duty to serve."

"Lets get inside, I wish to see my new child." The six men entered the tower, Rheagar and Eddard immediately went to Lyannas room, as they entered it they both said her name in the same time. She was surprised to see that her brother was there with the prince. She was holding a new born baby in her arms wrapped up in a blanket.

"Its a boy." said Lyanna "What should we name him?"

The prince gave it a slight thought and then looked at his brother in law "You have suffered the most because of our mistake Eddard, I want you to be the one who names my new son."

"I'm honored, truly. If that's what you really want."

"Yes it is. Please Ned." said Lyanna.

The lord of Winterfell gave it a thought and came up with an answer. "Jon. His name will be Jon."

"Jon, I like it." said Lyanna.

"Jon Targaryen, that is a first tut is shall be as you say." The three talked some more about everything that had happened to them in the past few months. It was when Lyanna lifted her gaze to the door of the room when she noticed Robert Baratheon standing at the edge of the door refusing to take a step further. She invited him in but he refused, he only said that they would talk later when she felt better and then he left. Days past and the tower was filed with happiness and laughter but Robert wasn't a part of that. He mostly avoided company and Lyanna, he only wanted o talk to Ned. After Laynna had regained her strength and recuperated from the hard labor the group was ready to set off back to Kingslading. Before they went on they way Lyanna called Robert to talk, knowing that he could not avoid this any further he accepted.

"I'm sorry Robert, I know that we were supposed to get married, I know that you love me but" the woman paused "I love him."

Those words hurt the storm lord more then any sword of arrow could, deep inside he hoped that the letter was fake and that she was trapped by the dragon prince. That he would be her brave rescuer, the one to free her and to take her back home. That she would become his queen. But now there was no doubt she truly loved the Targaryen. "I know… and that's why I wont stay in way of your happiness. But I will always love you Lyanna, always."

The she wolf did not know what to say, even after everything she put him through he still loved her. She ran off with someone else and yet he loves her still. She could only respond by thanking him.

Robert smiled slightly "There no need for that. I will be there if you need me. Just remember that."

She put one hand on his cheek "Thank you Robert." her voice was full of love and compassion. "Now lets get going the others are waiting." The group set off back to the capital in full spirit. Once they reached it Lyanna was officially crowed queen of the seven kingdoms. Elia Martel and her children stayed at the capital, they were still Rhaegars family after all. Elia did not harbor any ill feelings towards Lyanna, the two women quickly became good friends even though that they were polar opposites of each other. After some careful decision making the young king decided who was going to sit on his small council. Lord Jon Arryn was made the hand of the king, probably no small part thanks to lords Eddard and Robert. The new master of coin was Tywin Lannister who was slightly displeased that he was passed for the title of the hand but he did not show it. Varys remained as the master of whisperers and maester Pycelle as the grand maester. The position of master of ships was offered to Robert Baratheon but he turned it down, instead of him lord Paxter Redwyne received the title. Lord Eddard was also given a sit on the council as an official adviser but he refused by telling the king that his duty lies in the north but that when the crown needs him he will come. The kings two siblings Viserys and Daenerys were broth back to the capital with sad news that their mother died while giving birth to the new princess. The new king mourned his mother but he did not let that stop him from doing his duty. With peace restored to the seven kingdoms the large army disbanded, each part going back to its homeland. Ned took his wife Catelyn and his army north while Robert returned to Stomsend, some say that lord Tywin has his eye set on the storm lord as a suitable husband for his daughter. The seven members of the kingguard continued to serve the new king as they did the previous but this time with a lot more pride. The mad king was kept confined to his chambers, he demanded to be released but his word fell to deaf ears. In the end Rheagar was happy what he got to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves, but he still considered himself guilty for the deaths that occurred, as did Lyanna. Now they focused on bringing prosperity to their land and preparing for whats to come.
