Lena was rudely awoken by her stomach hurting at 2 in the morning. The pain wasn't too bad, but just enough to make it hard to get comfortable. At least, for a moment. She nearly yelped when suddenly the pain intensified by 10. Lena's eyes filled with tears and a pained whimper escaped her lips. Before she knew it she was sobbing and she found herself crying for Kara. Obviously, Kara heard her even if she was at her own apartment. She flew to Lena's place as fast as she could and raced to the bedroom. "Lena! What's wrong? Are you ok?" she asked frantically, scooping Lena out of bed and into her arms, using the classic bridal carry. Lena had no idea why she had cried the way she did, she usually had more of a pain tolerance than that, but right now, she was just happy that Kara was holding her, because in all honesty she seriously wasn't feeling well.
"I... don't feel... good.." Lena sobbed. Kara gave her a sympathetic smile and held her close, but she was careful not to squeeze her too tightly. Kara was rocking gently and cooing to the brunette until her sobs died down. Once Lena was more calm Kara asked "What hurts?" Lena buried her face in Kara's shoulder and quietly replied "My stomach. " Kara nodded and began slowly pacing around Lena's bedroom, slowly soothing her back to sleep with the movement and comforting words. Kara smiled as she realized she was probably going to get a lecture when Lena was feeling better about not treating her like a baby. She could already hear it.
"Kara, you carried me around like an infant, I am not an infant I am a grown woman and don't you dare tell anyone I was crying!"
Kara struggled not to laugh as she thought about it. She found it amusing to treat Lena like a baby. Lena was so annoyed by it but Kara could tell she secretly loved it, mostly because no one ever really babied her when she actually was a baby. But there was a limit, one that Kara has crossed many times simply for entertainment. Lena's just so cute when she's angry!
Kara was snapped out of her thoughts when Lena woke up crying again.
"Aww, still feeling bad, huh?" she asked soothingly. Lena didn't answer, she just kept crying. Kara again started pacing around the bedroom, but this time it wasn't working; in fact, with every moment she seemed to cry harder. Kara could see the pain in Lena's tear-filled eyes.
"Aww, Lee. You poor baby..." Kara said as her own eyes filled with tears. She hated seeing Lena in pain. The younger woman let out another pitiful cry and clung to Kara. The Kryptonian gently rocked the crying woman and shushed her softly. But no matter what Kara did, Lena's now obviously feverish body was wracked with loud sobs and pained cries. Kara hugged her close in attempt to comfort her, but once again it didn't work. Kara carried Lena to the kitchen and while supporting her with one arm, she searched the medicine cabinet with the other hand. She found some pepto and a thermometer. She gently placed the device on Lena's forehead and waited for it to beep. When it did, she was worried about what it read. "Wow... 102.3. I guess you've got a stomach bug or something, Lee." Kara stated, although Lena probably didn't hear her. Lena hiccupped and asked "Do I have a fever?" Now Kara was sure she hadn't heard her. Kara smiled sympathetically and answered "Yeah, you do. 102.3." Lena nodded and laid her head on Kara.
"How about some medicine?" Kara asked. Lena groaned in disgust. "No... I can't take medicine right now. "
"Lee, you need medicine. You're sick." Lena tried to protest further, but her stomach interrupted. She gagged and clapped her hand to her mouth, holding her stomach with the other hand. It took Kara a few moments to realize what was happening, but when she did, she super-sped to the bathroom. She sat Lena down just in time for her to throw up in the toilet. Kara pulled her hair out of her face and rubbed soothing circles on her back. Kara hated seeing Lena like this, all sick and upset, she wished she could make it better for her. When Lena was done throwing up, she immediately climbed Kara like a tree. The blond held her close and continued to rub her back.
"Do you feel any better, now?" she asked. Lena shrugged. "Maybe a little bit." Kara smiled. "Let's go to bed, ok?" Lena nodded.
Kara laid Lena in bed and gently laid down beside her; she held her close and stroked her soft dark hair until she fell asleep.
~ The next morning ~
When Kara woke up, she found that Lena was still tightly snuggled against her. She smiled and rubbed the younger woman's back. Lena's eyes fluttered open and she smiled up at Kara.
"Good morning, beautiful. How are you feeling?" she asked.
Lena yawned and sleepily answered "Much better actually. " Kara smiled. "That's great!" at that point she figured it'd be ok to aggravate Lena a bit. She smirked and said "Aww, did that mean old tummy bug go away?" in her best baby voice. Lena shot Kara an annoyed look and buried her face in her chest. Kara placed a small kiss on Lena's forehead and hugged her. Lena returned the embrace and said "Did you know you're my favorite person?" Kara smiled and said "You're my favorite person, too."
