A/N: Hello everyone! So, this note includes a small announcement. I have decided to back the writing challenge I started last year! It will be the same prompts, but I have revamped it by adding some new ships. I thought I would start with Adrienette, seeing as it is also Adrinette April! I think this will also give me something to do since I currently am out of work due to the pandemic. Plus, it gives y'all some extra entertainment while we are all on quarantine during these trying times. Hope you enjoy!
30 Day OTP Writing Challenge
Day 10- Spooning
Adrien Agreste x Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Miraculous Ladybug)
"Did you actually say that?"
Adrien laughed. "Yeah I did," he said. "Why do you act so surprised?"
"You just continue to surprise me, that's all," Marinette said, tightening her grip on his arm. "Just don't say things like that around my parents."
They laughed as they continued walking down the dimly lit street. She laid her head on his shoulder, her arms still wrapped around his. Adrien put his free hand on top of hers and gently rubbed her fingers.
She shivered slightly as a cold breeze blew past them. "I can't wait to get back inside," she said, closing her eyes and gritting her teeth as the cold embraced her. "Are you sure your father said it's okay for you to spend the night?"
"I'm sure," he said, pulling off his scarf. "It took a lot of convincing, with the help of Nathalie of course." He pulled his arm free and wrapped the scarf around her neck.
Marinette brought her hands up to touch it, feeling the soft material underneath her fingers. "Well, thank goodness for her," she said. "And Adrien, you didn't have to do this."
Still holding onto the scarf, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "I can't have my princess getting cold, now can I?", he said playfully. He reached down and laced her fingers with his own.
As they continued to walk towards the bakery, Marinette pulled the scarf over her face, taking in the sweet scent. Adrien smiled as he looked at her, admiring her soft expression. "Hey, Marinette," he said, getting her attention.
She turned to him. "What is it?"
"I love you," he said, feeling his face get warm.
It was as if all the cold around her had disappeared in that moment. Her cheeks garnered the same pink warmth as his did, so much that not even the scarf could hide it. "I-I love you, too," she said, her voice soft.
It was then that they finally reached their destination. The lights were still on as the bakery prepared to close. The bell rang as they opened the door, alerting her parents to their arrival.
"There you kiddos are!", Tom said, opening his arms. "How was the movie?"
"It was good," Marinette said, releasing Adrien so that she could hug her father. "But now I'm ready to relax."
"I'll bet," he said, wrapping his arms around his daughter. He glanced at Adrien, who was still standing there awkwardly. "Come here, you get one too."
Marinette moved out of the way, allowing her father to nearly suffocate her boyfriend in a hug. "You're part of the family too, ya know," Tom said, ignoring Marinette's "Papa!".
Adrien laughed. "Thank you, Mr. Dupain," he said, his arms still trapped to his sides. "May we go upstairs now?"
"Yes, you may!", Sabine shouted from the backroom.
"Papa let him go," Marinette said.
Tom finally released Adrien from the hug, giving him a pat on the shoulder. "Sorry about that," he said. "I just enjoy seeing you every time you visit."
The young boy rubbed the back of his neck. "Thank you for allowing me to spend the night here with Marinette."
"It's our pleasure," he said, watching as Marinette grabbed Adrien's arm to start pulling him up the stairs. "Your mother and I only have one rule for you two."
The teens stopped at the bottom of the stairs and gave him their full attention.
Tom paused for a moment before saying, "No monkeying around." He shook his finger in front of him. "Your mother and I will be just a floor below you two, you know."
Their mouths dropped open as their faces became a bright shade of red.
"PAPA!", Marinette yelled, covering her face.
He laughed, feeling his wife come up next to him. "Oh, I'm just playing," he said. "I know you kids are more responsible than that."
"You kids go ahead and get settled in Marinette's room and we'll bring up some snacks later," Sabine said, playfully punching her husband's arm.
"T-Thanks Mom," Marinette said, her face still burning. "Come on, Adrien."
She continued to pull him up the stairs, climbing all the way up to her room in the attic. Once they had reached her room, Marinette immediately flopped onto her chaise lounge. Adrien laughed, walking over to her.
"Aww, is my lady sleepy?", he asked in a playful voice.
She responded with a yawn and closed her eyes.
He sat down next to her, brushing loose hairs out of her face. "We can get ready for bed if you'd like."
"Mmm," she mumbled. "That sounds good." She sat up slowly and stretched her arms. Getting up, she walked over to her dresser and pulled out a tank top and pajama pants.
Adrien's eyes followed her as she walked over to the clothing screen. She giggled and turned to him. "No peeking," she said, waggling her finger at him.
He watched as she went behind the screen and began taking off her clothes. Her form, albeit being just a shadow, was fascinating to watch. The way she wiggled her butt a little as she put her pants on made his heart flutter a little. The next time he saw her, she was garnered in her usual pink pajamas.
"Okay, your turn," she said, handing him his bag that he had left there earlier.
He grabbed it from her and proceeded to go behind the same screen. As he was changing, Marinette decided to climb up the ladder to her bed. It was still made nice and neat as she had left it, with the pink comforter now wrinkling as her hands and knees sank into it. She laid down near the top of her bed, wrapping her giant cat pillow around her chest.
The skylight above her gave her a small view of Paris's sky, letting in a bit of moonlight. Her breathing relaxed as she sank slowly into the soft bedding beneath her. Her eyes became heavy as her body craved the sensation of slumber.
The weight of the bed shifted next to her as Adrien laid down beside her. He laid on his side, keeping himself propped up on an elbow. "Aw, you look so cute, my princess," he said.
She smiled. It didn't matter how many times he said that to her. It always made her heart feel as though it was being lifted from her chest. "So do you, my prince," she responded, taking notice of his Ladybug themed pajamas. "I can't believe you still have those."
"I have to support my lady, you know," he said. "I don't know if you heard, but I'm her biggest fan."
She felt her cheeks warm up. "I never would've guessed," she said, poking his nose. "You're such a dork, Chaton."
Adrien moved in a bit closer to her, wrapping his arm around her stomach. "I know," he said.
She turned onto her side and threw an arm across him. "Come here, you dork," she said, leaning her forehead against his. Their lips touched as they shared a quick kiss.
Since they had begun dating, they had shared many kisses. Marinette still wondered how each one still managed to make her feel as if she were floating above the clouds. Adrien's lips were always so soft and tasted like the slightest hint of mint. Her chest still burned like an internal fire, with the warmth flooding her entire body before making its way to her face. She let her hands caress his arms, feeling the goosebumps that spread across his skin.
Their lips parted, their foreheads still touching. Adrien brought a hand up to her face, caressing her cheek softly. She stared in admiration as a big, goofy smile spread across his face.
"You're adorable," she said. "I just want to…" She reached up and ruffled his hair.
A laugh escaped his lips and his smile widened as her fingers began stroking his blond hair. She giggled as she watched his rosy cheeks turn a darker shade of red. "Stop it, you're making me blush," he said.
"That makes you even more adorable," she said, her fingers still entangled within his hair. Another yawn escaped her mouth, causing her to rub her eyes.
"Come here, Marinette," Adrien said, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close.
The warmth of his embrace made her eyes feel even heavier, as if sleep was actually tugging at them. Adrien felt his becoming heavy too, especially now that he had his lady snuggled up to him.
Marinette knew this position. It was their favorite and they did it often. She loved the feeling of his arms wrapped around her front. The feeling of his face laying up against hers so that his soft skin touched hers. This type of closeness brought a sense of comfort to her and never failed to make her body relax.
As she held him close, a thought popped into her head. "Hey Adrien," she whispered.
"Hm?", he pulled back slightly to look at her. "What's up?"
She bit her lip, a small smirk on her face. "Turn around."
He lifted a brow at her, but quickly obliged. He let go of his embrace with her and rolled over onto his other side. Many thoughts ran through his mind at that moment. Marinette was never the one to be the trickster, so his body shook slightly at the anticipation for what she had in mind.
Without hesitation, Marinette scooted in closer to him and slid her arms around him. She pulled herself in close, wrapping both arms around his chest. She laid head in the crook of his neck, nestling her cheek against his.
It was still warm, and she could feel the heat tickling her own cheek as it grew even hotter from her touch.
Adrien felt his body relax as Marinette intertwined her legs with his own. Her long hair had been taken out of their signature pigtails, making it so he could feel the slightest tickle on his neck.
He smiled and let himself sink further into her bed. "You're very sneaky, my lady," he said, holding her hands in his.
"Mhm," she said, tightening her grip on his chest. "You're always the big spoon. This time, I wanted to give it a try."
It was true. Adrien loved the feeling of holding Marinette in his arms. It gave him a sense of comfort, like nothing could ever happen to her so long as he held her. He would lay there and take in the sweet scent of her hair that she had just washed not long before.
Now he felt her beautiful warmth on his back, encasing him in an aura of comfort and love. He could feel the rhythm of her breathing on his skin.
"You make me feel safe," he whispered. "Please never let me go."
Marinette nuzzled his cheek. "I won't, I promise," she whispered back. "Je t'aime, mon Adrien."
"Je t'aime aussi, ma Marinette," he said. He felt her kiss the back of his hair and her breathing became steady as he fell asleep behind him.
Before he closed his eyes, he could see two dim lights next to them. Small orbs of red and green that had been with them the entire time.
"Goodnight to you two, too," he said, yawning.
The teens fell asleep, not noticing that another presence had come in to place a blanket on top of them. They smiled in their sleep as she gently kissed their rosy cheeks.
Sabine climbed down the ladder and stood next to the attic door. "Aren't they just the sweetest?", she whispered.
Tom stood at the top of the stairs, taking a peek at the sleeping teens. "As sweet as can be," he whispered, a big smile on his face. "I'm glad they finally found each other."
Sabine nodded. "I'm convinced they were literally made for each other," she said, squeezing past her husband to go down the stairs.
He stuck his head back through the door, looking at them one last time. "Goodnight, kiddos," he whispered before shutting the door.
She had no idea how right she actually was.
