Chapter 1

Portal to Ponyville

"Shadow hurry up!" Sonic shouted as a ragged black and red hedgehog walked into the kitchen very lazily and chugged an entire pot of coffee.

Shadow fixed his messy spines and stretched his arms out then scratched his back. Sonic tapped his foot impatiently as Shadow shoved a piece of toast in his mouth. He slipped his skates on his feet then stood up straight.

Shadow turned towards his impatient boyfriend "Sorry I can't function without my fucking coffee in the damn morning. I feel all sluggish, like a stupid ass zombie."

Sonic scoffed as he pushed Shadow out the door "Everyone's waiting on you dumbass! Even Solana and Osiris are waiting! Hurry… up! We're going to visit the ponies remember? We might even see Kirby again. Won't that be fun?"

Shadow sighed exasperated as Sonic continued to push him along. They burst out the door and into the clear, sunny day. Shadow almost ran over Tails as Sonic shoved him, but Tails darted away just in time.

"What the hell Sonic?" Tails asked in annoyance. "Calm down. The portal isn't going to close. Remember we don't have those stupid random portals anymore? Aeon fixed it. Although… Bad things might be able to come through… Anyway, we'll deal with it when it happens."

"Yeah but I wanna go already!" Sonic shouted. "I haven't seen the ponies in a… Pony's age! I wonder what has changed since we were gone."

"Alright then," said Shadow, putting a calming hand on Sonic's shoulder. "Let's go you antsy hedgehog. Tails, where's the rest of our party?"

"Jenny and Smoky are coming in a little bit," Tails replied. "I think Zonic is coming too. Where are—"

Solana climbed up Shadow and onto his shoulder, while Osiris tried to trip Sonic up. Sonic bent down and lifted Osiris up onto his head with a grin. Zonic, Jenny and Smoky ran up then out of breath.

"Sorry," said Jenny. "Smoky and Zonic were having a bit of an argument, so I had to give them a talking to."

"And you had to fix your fur Jennifer," said Zonic. "Don't forget about that."

"I only had to fix it because Smoky snuck up on me and messed up my tail with whipped cream!"

Tails tried not to laugh as he hugged Jenny. Sonic giggled and Shadow shrugged. He was still trying to wake up. Jenny grumbled good naturedly. Solana squeaked happily as the party walked through the portal and stood in Ponyville Square. Sonic shot off a blue energy blast from his finger which burst into an array of colors in the sky. "Sonic!" Someone shouted as Sonic was tackled to the ground by a blur of light and dark pink. "Hi Pinkie…" Sonic said straining to breathe as Pinkie Pie hugged him tightly. "Whoa there Pinkie! Don't choke him Sugarcube!" an Orange pony with pale yellow hair called as she walked up to the party. "Sorry! It's just been SOOOO long since I've seen him!" Pinkie giggled as she released Sonic from the death hug. "Hi… "pants" Pinkie, Applejack." Shadow helped Sonic up from the ground. "Pinkie!" shouted an annoyed voice as a violet alicorn with dark purple hair landed on the ground beside Applejack. A yellow pegasus with pale pink hair and a purple dragon with green spines landed beside Applejack as well. "Hi Sonic…" the yellow pegasus shyly said as she happily trotted up to Sonic. "Hi Fluttershy. How're you been?" Sonic spoke quietly as not to startle Fluttershy with his loud voice. Fluttershy and Sonic continued talking as Tails ran up to the tall purple Alicorn standing beside Applejack "Hi Twilight! It's been so long. I missed you." Twilight leaned down to Tails' level "Hi Tails. I've missed you too. We need to catch up." Twilight smiled as she laid down on the ground so Tails can hug her. Tails exclaimed in surprise "You're so tall now! What happened?" Twilight laughed as she continued her conversation with Tails. A rainbow trail suddenly flashed by as a light blue pegasus with a rainbow mane sped past the party. The pegasus did some loop-de-loops in the crystal clear blue sky then expertly landed without a sound in front of the party. Shadow ran up to Rainbow Dash and they bumped his fist to her hoof "Good to see ya Dash!" Rainbow laughed smugly "Its always a good day when I'm around." Shadow rolled his eyes and began laughing with her as they pranked each other with a joy buzzer. "Must you make such a scene darling?" A pristine white unicorn with curled lavender mane strutted up to the party. She flipped her mane around fabulously as she opened her crystal blue eyes with fluttering luxurious eyelashes. "Rarity!" Jenny pawed up to Rarity and they posed together then laughed regally as they talked about fashion design. Applejack trotted up to Smokey and shook her paw then curtsied politely. "Jackie!" Smoky cried as she hugged Applejack. Applejack laughed at the cute nickname as she hugged Smoky back. Zonic, Solana and Osiris sat under a tree and breathed in the fresh air. A white alicorn with a blue, green, pink and purple mane with a dark gray alicorn with a light blue and dark blue mane landed next to the party. Sonic gasped in happiness "Tia!" Sonic hugged the white alicorn smiling broadly. Celestia returned Sonic's hug "Hello Sonic. It's wonderful to see you again!" Shadow walked up to the gray alicorn and bowed politely. "Hey Luna. Been awhile hasn't it?" Luna shouted in her Canterlot voice as she hugged Shadow undignified by wrapping her front hooves around him. She is not used to speaking quietly as she shouted "SHADOW! IT HAS BEEN A PONY'S AGE SINCE I'VE SEEN YOU! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?" Shadow covered his ears in pain "Volume Luna!" Luna nodded embarrassed as she spoke again " Shadow. It has been a pony's age since I've seen you. How have you been?" Shadow nodded approvingly "I've been great and you?" Luna smiled happily as she continued her conversation. The party was awestruck when a warp star came from the sky and landed on the ground revealing Kirby. He hopped off the star and it disappeared as he tackled Shadow "Fuzzy-Wuzzy!" Kirby yelled happily as he rubbed his cheeks against Shadow's soft leg spines. Shadow groaned as Kirby looked up at him with dark blue eyes which shone like sapphires. Shadow sighed annoyed as he slowly pet Kirby's pink head. The entire party headed toward the Castle of Friendship as Twilight lowered the sun and raised the moon. The party settled into their respective rooms and fell asleep as Twilight and Spike flew back to Canterlot and the other ponies went back to their homes to sleep...
