Chapter I: My Path of Fate
"Arise, Chosen One."
I blearily open my eyes. I notice I'm laying on the floor of a…place. No idea what this place is though. I sit up and look around.
My surroundings are quite unnatural.
I see a vast floor of pure white, nothing else. This place has a calming air to it, and I have no clue on what's going on.
"Where in the world am I?" My voice echoes through the barren plane.
A booming inhuman voice answers me.
"You are in my domain Chosen One."
"What the!? What's going on!?"
"It is as I said, you are in my domain."
"And what in the world does that mean!?"
"It is as I said, you are in my domain."
I'm starting to feel a twitch in my eye. Maybe it's the fact that I have no idea on where I am. The fact that a voice whose volume alone could shatter glass. Or the fact that I am just now noticing that I, in fact, have no body.
I deeply breathe in and out.
"Okay, can you specify on where I am, what I'm doing here, AND WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!?"
I believe the stress is starting to get to me.
"You are in a realm that Fate has determined to be the most appropriate of the situation."
"And as to why you are in this realm, it is because you are dead."
What?
I'm dead?
-images of blood and deformed metal shot through my head—
-images of a past life that I lived through flashed before me—
-images of a life that granted no fulfillment—
I see. That explained quite a bit of my situation.
"I'm dead?"
"Correct."
The truth doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would. I was a pretty average joe. I believe I only lived until I was what, eighteen? I better get the rest of this mystery solved though.
"I suppose the fact that I'm dead doesn't really matter right now, but who-No, what are you?
"I am Fate. The aspect of reality that determines the destiny of all things. It is Fate that determined the realm you see before you as a suitable place for our discussion. It is Fate that decided to bring you here as a Chosen One."
He is Fate? What does that even mean? What does that mean for me? Are there other aspects of reality that are breathing and scaring the intestines out of some poor stranger? I have so many questions.
"You…are an aspect of reality itself? Okaaay, are there other aspects that have sentience like you? And why exactly am I here?"
"There are four other aspects of reality. Chaos, Order, Time, and Space. They are the other aspects that Fate has decided to exist. We have given ourselves a title to save time when explaining our existence. We have all decided to name ourselves as Aspects."
I don't know if this all-powerful being in front of me is egotistical or the most arrogant out of all aspects.
"Well, that explains what you are, but that doesn't explain why I'm here."
"I shall now indulge you on the gravity of your situation."
A monologue. Joy.
"As I have explained, there are five Aspects. The Aspects were once one being known as the Omni-Primordial Arbiter, who governed reality.
WOW. That's a glorified and mouthful of a name.
"The Omni-Primordial Arbiter split into five aspects for unknown reasons, causing a shift in reality and creating multiple realities throughout the plane of existence.
Multiple realities? Like the Multiverse theory?
"The result was, as you put it, the formation of the Multiverse."
Cool, Fate can read minds. Now what does that have to do with me?
"With this formation of multiple realities, me and my fellow Aspects decided our purpose was to bring reality back into one piece and restore the Omni-Primordial Arbiter to its' former glory."
"However, there were….issues."
Of course there was. If I had the ability to facepalm myself I would do it several times.
"For some reason, our sentience gave us human values…such as morals and the consequences that come with having human moral standards…"
Omnipotent beings with human moral standards. THAT is NOT a good combination. If what Fate said was true, then all five aspects should have different moral perspectives on what right and wrong is…those perspectives being based on their own aspects….oh no. That would mean Order would believe that only organization and…order…is right while the Aspect Chaos is totally and completely wrong. Chaos would think the complete opposite and so on and so forth.
"You understand the issue then? Order would not merge with us because he believed Chaos to be a problem for reality, on the other hand Chaos does not care about the respective wills of any other Aspect and only cares for its own chaotic needs. The same moral outlook applied to Time and Space."
"That is certainly a problem…but how does your family feud involve me?
"In order to decide which moral compass was more important, we decided on a game."
"A….game?"
"Yes, a game to decide whether all five Aspects of reality should merge and form the Omni-Primordial Arbiter or to follow our own moral standards. We call the final conclusion of the moral debate or the end of the game, the Revelation."
"What kind of game are we talking about here?"
"We decided that we would have a battle Royale between our Chosen Ones."
What?
"In order to make the game fair, we chose a human to represent us and fight in the Battle Royale."
What?
"I will explain the game in full. There will be three rounds to decide the Revelation. Each round consists of a world you will be reincarnated into and a point system. In order decide the Revelation, the Aspect with the most points will choose between merging into the Omni-Primordial Arbiter or follow its own standards. Whichever path it chooses will decide the fate of reality. In order to earn points, you must eliminate another Aspect's Chosen One in each round. You receive one point for each Chosen One you eliminate. The round ends when all but one aspect remains."
That is a lot of information to cram. The Aspects of reality decided on a game to decide the future of reality itself, Nice. They chose their own human to represent them in their game. I am Fate's Chosen One. Do I even have a choice in the matter? Doesn't look like it….Do I gain anything from playing this death game?
"Fate, how do I benefit from this?"
"You shall be given a wish that only limits to the modification of reality or aspects of reality."
"So, a wish of anything I want that doesn't screw reality over."
Sounds pretty good to me. Next question.
"You said each round reincarnates each Aspect's Chosen One into a world to fight the other Chosen Ones…Where exactly am I being reincarnated into?"
"You are being reincarnated into one of the selected worlds of the Multiverse. As Fate would have it, you have knowledge of the worlds you are reincarnating into."
"What does that mean?"
"The first world selected for the first round of the Reality Royale is Remnant."
Oh. OH. MORE QUESTIONS.
"More shall be explained in your infancy, I bid thee farewell for now."
"Wait what!? HOLD ON A-
And from that point on, all I saw was darkness.
Well, there ya go. Comments are appreciated. Tips are appreciated as well. Fate allows questions. I plan to make the next chapter longer and have Fate explain some more stuffs. I might break the plot...eh, who am I kidding? Probably will. This entire story will consists of three separate...books? Not sure what to call it.
This is the first book. As you can see the first round is in RWBY, every teenage boy's dream/nightmare. This is an SI kinda OC main character thing I got going on. More stuffs will be explained next chapter. See ya till then.
