A/N: I saw a few prompts on the internet and this story just kind of wrote itself. I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a review :)

Wait, what?
The 1st time – You love her, you idiot!
Austin Moon and his girlfriend Kira Starr were having dinner at the Melody Diner. They had been together for almost a month now and to say things were a little rocky would have been an understatement. Mindy, the waitress, had just left their table after recommending "the famous Cha-Cha Chicken Pot Pie" and the conversation was headed in a very dangerous direction.
"Austin, I have to talk to you about something. It's been on my mind for quite some time now and recent events have only confirmed my suspicions," Kira started.
"This is about Ally, isn't it?" Austin suspected. "Kira, I've told you a million times. She's my best friend, but that it. Nothing more and nothing less. There has never been anything more between the two of us."
"I don't doubt that. But that doesn't mean that there can't or won't be," Kira said. "You know you're in love with her, right? And have been for quite some time, it seems."
"Wait, what?" Austin asked. "Since when?"
"Since pretty much always, I'd guess," Kira shrugged. "I'm not mad, the two of us just aren't meant to be. That's why I'm breaking up with you. So, go get that girl."
Kira stood up and started walking towards the door just as it opened. The two new customers entering the diner were none other than Ally Dawson herself and her best friend Trish De la Rosa. Seeing their friend, they waved in greeting and headed in their direction. Kira greeted both of them with a smile and while Trish sat down in another booth, she stopped Ally from doing the same.
"He's all yours," Kira told the brunette.
"Thank you," Ally answered without thinking. "Wait, what?" she echoed Austin's words from before. Kira just smiled at her and left without saying another word. Ally looked at her blonde friend questioningly.
"Er … it's nothing," Austin assured. "Well, gotta go." And without waiting for a response, he fled the diner as well. Austin had some serious thinking to do.
The 2nd time – Sleepover confessions
A couple of days after the big break-up, Austin, Ally, Dez and Trish decided to have a sleep-over in Sonic Boom – the music store owned by Ally's father. What followed was a night filled with planning Austin's next performances, watching scary movies and playing classic games – like a round of Truth or Dare that may or may not have involved a dare concerning Dez and a phone call to the self-proclaimed "love of his life" Mindy that had Austin, Ally and Trish howling with laughter. Finally, the four friends were exhausted and starting to fall asleep. A while later, the room was filled only with the sound of even breaths. Well, except for one very uneven breather – the still-awake singer Austin Moon himself.
Because you see, ever since his break-up with Kira, Austin couldn't stop thinking about his ex-girlfriend's words. And after a lot of denial, he had finally come to accept the truth: he had feelings for his best friend Ally Dawson. And that was not the end of it, by now Austin was pretty sure that he was head over heals in love with the girl. Now, there was only one problem: those feelings were scaring the hell out of poor Austin because he had never felt something like this before. He was torn between wanting to tell Ally as soon as possible and wanting to take this secret to the grave with him. But seeing his best friend lying next to him, he had an idea.
"Ally?" he asked quietly. "Hey Ally? You still awake? Ally?" Slowly increasing his volume, he was happy to find the girl sound asleep. "Okay, good. Don't let me disturb you. Because I have something, I need to tell you, but I don't think I can do it in person just yet." Austin took a deep breath. "I like you. Like, like you as more than my best friend. As in wanting to ask you out. As in wanting to be boyfriend and girlfriend." Austin felt relieved to finally be able to say all these things aloud. "So, what do you say? I guess, I'll have to work on that a bit more before talking to you while you're awake, huh? Anyway, thanks for listening. Night, Ally."
Austin finally went to sleep, feeling a bit more at peace with his feelings. Not long after, Ally awoke with a start having heard everything unconsciously "Wait, what?" she asked. Seeing Austin sleeping peacefully next to her, she figured it must've been a dream. Shaking her head, Ally went back to sleep.
Unbeknownst to both Austin and Ally, on the other side of the room their other two friends were wide awake. Looking at each other with their mouths wide open in shock Trish and Dez were trying to make sense of what they just witnessed.
"Austin is in love with Ally," Trish whispered to Dez.
"Ya think?" Dez hissed back. "What do we do?"
"Come up with a plan to speed things up a bit. Ally is oblivious and Austin is scared, they definitely will need some help." Trish rubbed her palms together and the two of them started plotting in hushed voices.
The 3rd time – Miami heat
Miami is not a city known for its cool temperatures and the people living there were pretty used to it. But on this particular day, the Miami heat was almost unbearable. The mall was pretty much deserted – we're talking tumbleweed rolling across the floor deserted – because people were either shut off in their homes with the air conditioner running at full speed or at the beach or any other available water source. Well, all people except for a few brave store owners at Miami Mall, including Ally Dawson. Austin, Dez and Trish had decided not to let Ally melt in the heat all by herself and therefore were keeping her company.
And that's were the four of them were right now: at Sonic Boom surrounded by an army of air conditioners – as many as they had been able to dig up – and each one holding a fan. They were spread around the room, each and everyone of them more asleep than awake, exhausted by the heat.
"Ally, I don't think anybody's coming here today," Trish said suddenly. "Can't we just close up and go to the beach or something?"
"But I promised my Dad I'd keep the store open," Ally argued tiredly.
"Ally, we're melting here!" Dez argued.
"Maybe, you should take of your jacket," Trish told him.
"Oh," Dez said looking down at himself and then quickly shrugging his jacket of. "No, that's not it." Ally and Trish just shook their heads at their peculiar friend.
"Well, I guess there's really nobody coming here, is there?" Ally asked. "It's so hot in here!"
"Maybe you should leave the room," Austin said sounding like he wasn't quite aware of what he was saying.
"Wait, what?" Ally asked completely flabbergasted.
"Er …" Austin said looking alarmed after having realized he'd just called his best friend hot; not knowing what else to do, he started rambling. "Or maybe it's me. Haha! Well, I should better leave. You know, ahead to the beach to get a good spot or something like that. Oh, would you look at that: it's way hotter out here where I am now. Dez, you coming with? Bye guys." And with that Austin was out the door – much faster than anyone would have thought possible in this heat – leaving Ally looking at Trish questioningly.
The 4th time – What's that smell?
Dez and Trish entered Sonic Boom and were greeted with the sight of Austin and Ally in a heated discussion. They shared a worried glance, by the looks of their two friends – and the lack of customers – this had been going on a while.
"I just can not believe you!" Ally shouted at him.
"And I can not believe that you're making such a big deal about this!" Austin argued. "Come on, Alls. I was only ten minutes late."
"It's not the amount of time, I'm angry about. It's the principle of it!" Ally disagreed. "And it's not like you were late because there was an emergency, now is it?"
"I was on a date. It went really well, so I lost track of time," Austin explained heatedly.
"Oh, so you're saying some random chick is more important to you than me? Your best friend and partner?" Ally looked really hurt. Dez and Trish looked at each other, clearly thinking about whether they should intervene, but Austin was first.
"Of course not," he argued and, well, he should have just left it at that. "But you would've done the except same thing, had you been out on a date."
"Oh really? Well, I guess that just shows how well you know me," Ally said coldly. "Not at all."
At any other day, Austin would've conceded and tried to smooth things over. But today, he seemed to be trapped in his anger and wanted to hold his ground. So, he said nothing and the two of them just glared at each other. Trish suddenly had an epiphany and dragged Dez over to their two arguing friends.
"Do you smell that?" Trish asked loudly.
Dez sniffed the air. "What?"
Trish gestured towards Austin and Ally. "The scent of sexual tension is in the air"
"Oh thank God," Dez answered. "I thought you were referring to the assortment of cheese I am carrying." Dez pulled a plate of cheese out of his backpack and suddenly the air was filled with that scent. The other three wrinkled their noses.
"No, definitely the sexual tension," Austin said firmly.
"Yeah … wait, what?" Ally looked shocked.
"Well, …" Austin thought. "Gotta go." And with that he once again fled the scene leaving the other three standing there. Well, except for Dez who was pulling out a baguette and a knife in order to have some cheese.
The 5th time – Steal Your Heart
Austin and Dez were filming the music video to their newest song "Steal Your Heart". It involved Austin playing a bunch of different instruments – similar to his first video to "Double Take". Not surprisingly, it was quite a lot of work, so Ally and Trish were there as well to help out. Having just rolled the piano off stage and handing Austin his guitar – you can guess who did what – Ally and Trish were taking a break and just watched their very talented friend.
"Okay, cut!" Dez called. "We'll take a short break while setting up the drum set."
"You go on ahead," Ally told Trish. "I'll be right with you." Normally, Trish would have argued, but seeing Ally head for Austin, her inner matchmaker squealed, and she went to work without complaining.
Austin was putting the guitar away when he saw Ally approaching and smiled at her. He was pumped because things were running so smoothly.
"Is there anything you can't do?" Ally asked only partly joking. She was referring to the various instruments he had just played without a problem.
Austin grinned at her. "Oh, you know. Gather up my wits and ask you out." The last part he mumbled, and Ally was barely able to understand it.
"Wait, what?" she asked.
"What?"
"Austin, we're ready for the next take!" Dez called over. Trish punched him for interrupting their two friends, but it was too late.
"Well, gotta go." Austin rushed over to the drums and started playing.
The 6th time – A different kind of stupid
Ally was sitting at the piano in the practice room, trying to write a new song.
I'm finally me
Got everything I need
What you get is what you see,
I, I, I'm finally me
And I've never felt so free
There's no one else that I'm trying to be
I'm finally me
Furiously scribbling the chorus down in her book, she smiled. She really liked this new song. Ally was so deep in thought, she didn't even hear Austin enter the room until he was standing beside her.
"That sounded great, can I see?" He asked and tried taking the book out of her hands.
"Don't touch my book!" Ally told him for the millionth time. "Really, Austin how many times do I have to tell you that?"
Austin just grinned at her and watched her with a weird look in his eyes. "Hm," he said.
"What?" Ally asked.
"Well, I think I'm about to do something stupid," Austin told her.
"You're always doing something stupid, so how is this any different?"
Austin looked at her for a moment longer before leaning in and kissing Ally firmly on the lips. Ally was completely taken aback and before she could do anything, Austin had already let go of her. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment, both of them not quite knowing what so say.
"Well, that really was different." Austin gave her a quick smile and left the room. Once again, the blonde singer had some serious thinking to do.
Ally however was completely shocked and, thinking about the kiss again, started blushing "Wait, what?" And with that she jumped up from her seat and chased after her best friend.
The final time – Think About You
"So, this thing between Austin and Ally. Do you think maybe it's supposed to be a secret?" Dez asked. Him and Trish were wondering why it took their two friends so long to get together.
"Hardly," Trish said. "The only people who don't know they're in love with each other, are Austin and Ally themselves." Dez couldn't argue with that. It had been forever since Kira had broken up with Austin and, although Austin and Ally did share a few moments, there had been no real progress in their relationship. At least to Trish and Dez' knowledge. And the two concerned friends couldn't for the live of them figure out why. They were currently in the practice room, plotting.
"Hey Trish," Dez suddenly said. "Look!" And what do you know? In walked none other than Austin and Ally themselves. Now that alone wouldn't have been cause for amazement. What really shocked Trish and Dez was that the two best friends were walking into the practice room holding hands and looking at each other lovingly. They were startled by the presence of their two other friends, but made no move to let go of each other's hands.
"So, who finally confessed?" Trish asked, never having been one for discretion.
"It was me. I made sure it was short and sweet," Austin said proudly.
"Are you kidding me?" Ally looked at him incredulously. "You refused to talk to me after kissing me. So, I finally gave it up and went home. And a few hours later, you were standing outside my house, throwing rocks at my bedroom window until I came out on the balcony and sang "Think About You" in full length."
"It worked, didn't it?" Austin grinned at his new girlfriend.
"You bet, it did." Ally grinned back and kissed him.
"Wait, what?" Dez and Trish chorused, clearly missing some details of that story.
