Merida Sees Godzilla

It was a peaceful evening in the country side of Scotland and Princess Merida couldn't be more happier this evening. Though it was only a few days ago, she was still happy that she not only helped to change the laws of her kingdom about the whole marriage deal, but had rekindled the bond between her and her mother, Queen Elanor. Now she was taking a small stroll on the back of her most trusted horse, Angus, along the cliff side that stared out to the loch and to the sea. The sun had not quite yet set, but Merida knew that she would be wanted to come home soon. Deciding not to make her parents, mostly her mother, angry, Merida turned Angus to head back to the castle. But before she could go any further, a familiar sight appeared to her right. Looking to it, she saw a sight that she thought she might hardly see anymore: it was a Will o' the Wisp. A trail of them suddenly formed behind the first one, leading to a path unknown.

Merida bit her lip as she thought about following the trail or going back to her parents. She knew that she would get into trouble for staying out so late, but she also knew that if she didn't take the chance now, then she might end up regretting it. Turning her horse down the path, she then said, "Follow them, Angus."

The horse neighed before taking off after the trail of Wisps. They lead her deep through a forest, across a small stream. The trail of Wisps soon lead her directly over a lookout that observed a great deal of the loch. But when Merida looked around and saw that there were no more Wisps to follow. She became confused and questioned, "Why did they lead us here? I don't understand, how is this a part of my fate?"

She soon got her answer when both she and Angus heard something rumbling coming up from somewhere deep in the loch. Merida looked about the surface of the water, but couldn't see anything yet. But the rumbling sound turned into that of a growl as the feeling of something came closer. The growling sounds made her noble steed a little nervous, and Merida placed a comforting hand on his neck and tried to calm him, "Shh. It's alright, Angus."

But the growling grew even louder and Angus rose up on his back legs as he whinnied in fear. Merida screamed as she fell off his back and Angus took off running into the trees. Merida looked back to the running horse and shouted, "Angus, come back!"

Unfortunately for her, Angus didn't heed her rider's call and continued to run off. Merida rose to her feet and was about to run after him when the sounds grew even louder. The red haired lass slowly turned around and her eyes grew wide at the sight. Within the loch, the water was starting to swirl as something was starting to emerge from the depths. Merida wanted to run incase that it was something that was really dangerous, but she found herself glued to the spot. Her breath was taken away as a massive creature's head broke through the surface of the loch. Merida could only watch in awe as the creature had a square shaped muzzle, and only its torso and a few dorsal plates on its back were visible. Even from this distance, Merida could see that the creature had big sharp teeth, long arms with huge claws on both of his hands. It let loose a small groan as he looked at his surroundings. Merida's attention was averted when she saw a blue light coming from underneath the loch's water and began traveling towards the creature. She then noticed that the light was somehow a part of the creature as the light started to travel up his dorsal plates. When it reached the back of the behemoth's head, Merida watched in awe as the large creature took a deep breath before throwing his head up to the sky and let loose a torrent of blue fire.

Merida couldn't take her eyes off the pillar of flames until they stopped. The large creature looked down and suddenly turned his head in her direction. Merida became nervous as he started to come closer. The creature lowered his head when he stopped moving and looked down at her. Merida was worried about what the creature would do to her, but she didn't have to worry as the creature only snorted a blast of air from its nostrils and it made Merida's hair blow back.

The creature then raised his head and started to back away from the cliffside. Merida watched as the creature then turned and started to dive back into the loch. The creature started to sink as it swam back into the depths of the loch. Merida once again watched in awe as its dorsal plates started to disappear under the water.

When it was fully gone, Merida took a deep breath. She could no longer hear the sounds of it growling coming from the water, meaning that creature was truly gone. The sound of neighing caused her to look back to see Angus galloping back to her. Merida placed her hands on her hips and said, "Oh, come back did we?"

Angus slowed to a trot as she added, "Didn't want to face my father without me?"

The horse only sputtered in self defense before looking out to the water. Merida then reassured him, "Don't worry, he's gone." She also looked out into the loch and said, "He's gone to who knows where."

Moving to the horse, Merida grabbed onto his saddle and climbed on. Then with a smile she said, "Come on. We have to tell Mom and Dad…" Her smile didn't falter as they started galloping back to the castle as she said, "Of our encounter with Godzilla."

Author's Note: And here is the fifth of my Godzilla Sightings fanfics. I was really wanting to do this one for a while. It was one of the first few that I wanted to do, but I didn't get around to it until now. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
