Only the brightness of the sun could light the room...
Said room was dimly lit due to this, the rays of light shining through the window on one side having a soft glow that allowed particles of dust to be seen float about and around the man. They floated about with little to no direction whatsoever, aimlessly and the room itself was rather decorated with a more Tuscan image that radiated a sophisticated air. Overall, it was a high class type of setting with fancy and detail rugs, filled bookshelves, coffee table and leather couches. The strange thing was that there so much dust occupying this space as it seemed rather neat and put together to say the most and complimenting the visual prowess of the interior designer.
Pictures were hung about from left to right of both large to small helpings of people. If one were to examine closer, they'd see that everyone in each picture wore the exact same uniform and hat that were adorned with a golden S on the front. Something considerably hard to miss. With proper posture, not a single one of the individuals in the pictures slouched nor were they distracted by anything. Each stood firm and straight with their hands behind their backs, looking more dignified than others, having this instilled into them.
Rotating round and round ever so peacefully, the White propellers of the small, desktop fan emitted a soft breeze that caressed his skin fairly gingerly. The breeze from the fan wasn't very strong. In fact, it barely prevented the formation of sweat on his brow, though it was clearly capable of shifting the stack of papers that rested on the wooden desk before him. It wasn't enough to send the tower of sheet flailing about the room, but enough to cause a few of the top sheets to flutter calmly.
And with a slam of one foot over the other, black loafers settled just adjacent to the papers as the man slouch in his cushioned chair. Blinking a few times to rid the dust from his eyes, the man stared forward at the rectangular device in his hands that was turned to the side. The sounds produced from the device was a mixture of upbeat chase music and the hearty sound of an engine and tires screeching rather profoundly.
The man sat comfortably, using his thumbs on the screen of the device as the display of it reflected off his eyes and the light brightened his fair skinned features.
He was a man dressed in a gray, two piece suit without a tie and not buttoned. The man could be considered relatively handsome, having a head of brown hair, combed back with two bangs hanging over his face. Golden rings dressed both his pinky and ring finger on both his hand, the color matching his sharp, honey gold eyes.
As he played the mobile phone game, his eyes drifted from the device and to the stack of paper, staring at it for a brief moment as if he was sizing it up. "I mean..." He trailed off, his voice rather dry and lacking all motivation. "...we got another two months before the Entrance Exams." This was his way of saying he would attempt to put off going through the document for the next two months and procrastinate a day before the Exams. That was if he was allowed to.
"SIR!"
The shout startled him, it being sudden and trying to hide the fact he was neglecting his work, the man hurriedly sat up, his phone bouncing in his hands before it slapped face down to the floor. All he could do was stare at it, trembling at the sight and hearing the noise it made ring in his ears.
"Sir..." Approaching the desk, another stack of papers were held in his arms and it was considerably taller than the first. His voice sounded as if the man was becoming increasingly feed up with the antics of the fully adult man. "...we have a deadline, remember?" His white locks fell into his eyes as he spoke, his bloody red eyes on the seated man.
"Ugh..." Bending in his seat and groaning as he went to pick up his smartphone, the man frowned, fearing to flip it over to see the damage. He was disgruntled, visibly irritated and apprehensive.
"Sir, come on." Dropping the next stack on the desk, separating it from the other, the young gentleman placed a hand on his hip while using the other to drag his finger through his hair to shift his bangs back. "We need to approve these and confirm the participants for the Entrance Exams."
He felt his heart drop upon flipping his phone over to see that the screen went black, cracked on every side. "Man..." He sighed deeply and hung his head in defeat, the feeling of loss washing over his in waves. Sitting back in his seat after putting the phone on the desk, the man held his hands behind his head while closing his eyes. "Can't we just do it like U.A. and let those who want to apply simply participate?" Implementing a method such as this would definitely save time and eliminate work that he already didn't want to do.
With a deep sigh, he responded. "For the fifth time, you know we cannot do that." He reminded. "We have our set of rules here and we cannot allow just anyone to apply as there'd be a chance for some unwanted troublemakers to fill the ranks of our students.
"Yeah, yeah, I know..." Blowing out a heavy breath, the man remained sitting in his seat, eyes closed and his hands behind his head.
They had a serious deadline they had to meet before the month was over and there were preparations that needed to be made to plan for the Entrance Exams for the next year of Shiketsu High students and they did not want any mistakes. With his eyes locked on the man for a brief moment, something caught his eyes. "Huh?" Raising his pale hand, he reached to the first stack of papers. "Thought I shredded this one..."
Letting one of his eyes crack open and peaking, the man with the golden eyes watched his assistant...
After picking up the first sheet from the stack, he blinked at the sight of the next one. "Hm, this one also..." Taking the next one-
"Hey, Ketsu..." Sitting up straight in his seat, the well dressed man held out a hand. "Let me see those first."
"Hm?" Being dubbed as Ketsu, the right hand of the Principal, all he could do was sigh else be pestered until he'd eventually let him see the two sheets. "Whatever you say." Came his response to him, barely passionate about it and handing the two sheets across the desk. "Just hold yourself from doing anything rash."
Taking them, the young thirty-five year old rested back in his seat as he held both of the papers in either hand, looking back and forth at the information. Staring at them, his eyes would drift up and pass the pages and to the man that was standing on the other side of his desk. "Uh..." He voiced out, blinking a few times as he then held the two pages up higher so that the sunlight could make things clearer, but it was no mistaking what he already read. Placing the two on the desk, he tapped the pages with his index finger, squinting as he continued to stare. "Who're these two?"
"Right..." With a roll of his eyes, he remained standing in his place with a hand resting on his hip. "...they're the two foreigners I told you about, remember?" Ketsu inquired with a raise of a white brow.
"You mean the two Americans?" While most of the staff of this school would sound disgusted of the two, his voice was edging more on having his curiosity piqued which was the complete opposite. "Didn't you say the two of them has had run ins with Law Enforcements on the East side?"
He wasn't surprised that the man hadn't heard of them. Instead of paying attention to his duties, he was always nose deep into his phone and neglecting things that were ACTUALLY important. "Multiple." He corrected, eyes closed so he was unaware of the man behind the desk picking up his rubber stamp presser. "Seven a piece actually, and the only reason they aren't locked behind bars is-"
"Approved." With two quick motion, the man stamped the two sheets with a large, red stamp that read "APPROVED" in bolded letters. A grin was plastered on his face as he did this, personally enthused by his own actions and preparing himself beforehand.
Opening slowly to see the red mark across both sheets of paper. For a moment, things would seem sort of...peaceful. "...Sir..." He barely spoke, his mind clearly incapable of processing what had occurred just before him. But he was calm...as his voice would present.
"Now, Ketsu, listen to me at least..."
"Sirrrr..." He strained, his brow now twitching.
Gesturing with his hands to stay calm, the man could practically taste the fury building in the room and all he could do was laugh nervously. "Just hear me out."
Inhaling through his nose, both Ketsu's eyes shut. Until he felt he was of proper mind and body, he didn't want to speak else it would come out fairly harsh and that's not what he wanted. He had to searched for the correct words and put them together like a puzzle. Letting his breath leave through his nose, he allowed his bloody red eyes to open and look toward the seated man.
"Ketsu-"
"What the fuck!" Ketsu was instantly the opposite of what he wanted to be and exploding with fury and rage, anger building in him as he tossed his arm to the side. "The two of them are no good delinquents!" Exclaiming this as he slammed both his hands on the desk, he glared at the man behind the desk. "If they pass the Entrance Exams and become students here, there's no doubt in my mind that the two of them will cause nothing but trouble for myself, you, the working staff and all of the other students!"
"Whoa, language, Ketsu." With a sheepish laugh, it leaking with an awkward air, the man waved his hand.
Settling, Ketsu fixed his clothing, straightening his top. "Sorry, Sir...kind of lost myself there."
"N-no worries." Though he'd be lying if he said Ketsu didn't scare him. But he took in the words of the other man, he did nothing but allow him to speak finally sitting up with his hands folded over one another. He nodded genuinely mulling over the concerns of the man, but it was clear he had something to say. Slowly raising his attention to the man across from him, all he could do was grin. "Do you honestly think two foreigners are even capable of doing such a thing to Shiketsu?" He was very amused by the thought and his demeanor caused Ketsu to blink in what most would interpret it as confusion. "Shiketsu is a school of moral, integrity and discipline, so it honestly surprises me that you think two kids could influence it in such a way."
"Yes, you're right, I suppose." Standing at his full height, he turned his head away to hide his embarrassment from his previous outburst.
"In fact." Grin widening as he played with the ring in his pinky finger, the man felt giddy, filling with nothing but joy like a kid in a candy store. "It'll be quite the other way around."
...
"Achoo!" Her cute, catlike sneeze could barely be heard over the combined sounds of blaring sirens, banging metal, and the disgruntled shouts of those around. With one leap after another, she was casually clearing the gaps between the large metal vehicle that were stopped by traffic. Glossy, black locks bounced in the rays of the sun that hung in its place in the sky, leaping and moving with each motion she took through her travels across the roofs of the cars that were in no time moving.
Bodies hit the cement, colliding rather roughly. One after the other and every few seconds, shouts could be heard as he pushed through the crowd, using his arms to purposely shove whoever was in front of them out of his way and ultimately to the ground. Hateful curses and foul words of discontent followed after him, though he continued to run; faster and faster. His own matte black hair jumped up and down as he ran along the sidewalk as fast as he could, ocean blue eyes looking over to the halted traffic where he could see the girl whom shared the same skin tone as him leaping from car to car.
"Whew..." It looked more like a second thought, mindless in her efforts as she jumped from roof top to roof top. She used her index finger to rub it under her nose with fake tears welling up in the corners of her deep, ocean blue eyes. "Think someone's hating on me." In a fairly smug fashion, the girl laughed lightly almost as if she heard or was whispered a joke.
Shoving his way through another collective of civilians, either pushing them from his way or knocking them off their feet, he paid little mind to where exactly he was going and more to her. "As if." Came a scoff from the taller male of the two, sharing the same ocean blue eyes as her. "I'm the one that's bein' hated on, 'cause y'all can't compare, ya know." It was almost strange. His words could be comparable to that of an irritable prick, but instead of an vomit inducing arrogance, there was a certain confidence with his words.
Slamming down on the hood of a very expensive looking sports car, the girl settled her feet before gathering and launching to the next car ahead of her. With the back of her hand to her mouth, she laughed quite loudly and landed on the next car without losing any momentum and leaping to the next. "What?" Finally landing and taking the time to slow down, she placed her feet on the roof of a red station wagon and placed a hand on her hip whilst also ignoring the driver of the vehicle shouting at her. "Oh, wow..." Her brows raised up a she squated down. "...you honestly believe that, huh?"
Coming to a jogging stop, the boy dragged his fingers backwards and through his thick, black hair, grinning in a very self-assured manner. Turning to face the girl on the top of the vehicle, he gave a slight laugh of his own. "I mean, yeah, it's only natural that the more talented twin is better, right?" He spoke as if it should be obvious to the girl.
"Better?!" She exclaimed as her eyes widened. "Wow, I think you must've drank something that's messing with that already tiny brain of yours." Using her fist to knock on her own head, she grinned, her cheeks shifting to emphasize the freckles that adorned her chocolate cheeks.
"If it's the same thing you drank-"
"Alright, you damn kids!" Jogging toward the two was a man, dressed in blue with equipment that showed he was apart of the local law enforcement. Everything from the badge, the gun, and normal, ordinary handcuffs that seemed rather bulky and pretty uncomfortable. He was followed by two other officers of the law, both having their handcuffs drawn in preparation. "'Should we call for Hero assistance'?" In a mocky fashion, the first officer scoffed at the men behind them. "They're just kids. We'll just handcuff 'em and give 'em a warning."
The reason why they suggested aid from the Heroes was because this wasn't their first time hearing of the twins or dealing with them and they had a reputation for getting away. And because they were not breaking any real laws, what could they do? It wasn't like they were using their Quirks...
Both looked to the direction of the oncoming policemen, seeming equaly disinterested and this was displayed by the drop in their expressions, frowning deeply. "Ugh, always ruinin' our fun." The twins spoke in unison, never missing a beat. This fact brought their smiles back to their faces. "Jinx!" Again, their patterns were lined up correctly as the spoke in complete tandem. "You own me two punches!" Pointing in each others faces, the two seemed ecstatic despite their situation.
"Anyways~" With a dejected roll of her ocean blue eyes, the female of the two waved her hand in an dismissive fashion. "Who turn is it?"
Raising fist to her, he held it out for the girl. "Stop bein' lazy; I got this one." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Cool." Pounding his fist with her own, the girl nodded her head and stood up to her feet with her hands placed on her knees, stretching a bit. With a two finger salute, she grinned deeply at her brother. "Good luck." Tapping the toes of her all white running shoes on the roof of the vehicle, the girl leaped to the next automobile. Upon landing with a thud, she channelled all the strength in her legs and jumped at least fifteen feet from the ground while reaching up. Grabbing on the metal structure that held the streetlights, she flipped around it, rotating until she finally landed on top of the high structure, perched like a bird.
Name: Lilith Nakamura
Quirk: Gymnast - Her Quirk gives her the lightness and balance of a Professional Gymnast which allows her to twist and turn, flip and shift in almost an inhuman way along with skyrocketing her reflexes and agility!
Her appearance on the metal structure garnered enthused eyes, all watching her with indistinct murmurs of what the young woman could be doing. Some thought it was a local street performance while a few others guessed it was some form of parkour...and they were not completely wrong with either guess.
Through her glassy, ocean blue eyes, she experienced once again being higher than everyone. The people ogling her looked so small and innocent. Her eyes were steeled, observing as they moved about in their lives. Continuing the everyday rat race and achieving what insignificant goal they placed for themselves that gave them the will to go on with their meaningless march through the days. "Alright, Kane!" Waving back to her twin brother, she nodded and leaped from the metallic structure and landed gracefully on the wire between poles, her weight doing little to cause it to falter. "Same spot!" Was all the girl relayed to him as she began moving, running across the cables attached to the utility poles.
Seeing her off with his head turned in the same direction, the young foreigner allowed his hand to rest gingerly on his hip with an effervescent curl to his lips that only displayed his enthusiasm and want to catch up to the girl that easily put every gymnast to shame. Light danced in his ocean blue eyes, a crisp breeze caressing his darkened cheeks as his hair swayed ever so smoothly. It was admiration that could be taken in from the mere look displayed on his features.
"Tell her to come back here!" Their steps were heavy as they charged at him, swinging their fist as the civilians that covered the sidewalk naturally split apart to allow the Law Enforcements to pursue. Each of the men were equally both bothered and surprised by the exhibit of her agility.
"Uh! Oh, right!" Gasping, blinking as he turned his full attention to the three coming at him, the boy looked rather bewildered, but a instinctive smile crept onto his face. "Forgot you were here, hehe!" He began to gallop with a noticeable spring in his step as he turned, sprinting down the sidewalk and it was clear he was ecstatic by his action.
"Guh!" Him stopping first made the two junior officers come to a stumbling halt behind him to take in their seniors surprise by peering pass him to process his expression. "C'mon, after the kid!" He exclaimed with his head swinging left and right at the two men. And with a nod from them, the three of them gave chase, blitzing forward, running after the boy.
With his hair flopping along his back in its loose ponytail, his ocean blues had trailed off amongst the shout and grunts of those he barreled through due to his forward momentum. 'Not how I thought I'd spend some of my energy...' He thought inwardly. He was the sort that was easily excitable and would snap into action at any given moment regardless of if one could keep up with him.
Despite his attempts to keep a level speed in which the officers could keep up, there was still a distance between them and it was quite sad. The officers weren't particularly out of shape, but they weren't capable of even keeping up with the foreigner even for a moment, so this resulted in this ordering him to stop. Their yells filled the air, nearly on the verge of becoming pleas for the boy to stop everything he was doing. They were incapable of keeping up with him and this kid had all eyes on them. Heavy breath escapes their mouths, panting, but not entirely tired just yet.
And...he actually did it... Not because he was told to, but more because it was just a waste of his Quirk and it was utterly embarrassing to see. "Man..." He rolled his eyes with a scoff after completely erasing all the momentum he gathered. The brown skinned teen made no effort to actually turn and face them, sighing out with a hand on his hip. "Shoulda just left this part to Lily." Came him musing.
The senior officer's footsteps grew closer and closer to the boy. It was evident that he was bothered from having to chase his down, sweat drenching down his body and dampening his shirt and it gave it a darker hue. "You need a serious lesson," Raising his hand as he reached out to the boy, he aimed to grab his collar. "On respecting both the Law and your elders." Nearly tasting the capture, the older man licked his lips as he swiped at the foreigner...- though nothing. His eyes widened. All that registered here and through his vision was the boy turning his body to the side and effectively avoiding him. 'How did he...' Even as he came stumbling pass, he was clearly at a lost for words.
A big, bright smile was plastered on his face with his sight on the man moving pass him clearly uncontrollably. "Ah, no touching if you're Quirkless." The boy assumed rather bluntly, scoffing as he gave a slight push to the back of the officer with a hint of elation in his action.
THAT was a "slight" push? The Senior officer clearly would never believe this as he went tumbling to the ground, rolling along the pavement and putting a gap between them, though against his own will.
The two rookie officers watched, eyes widening at the sight and itching, fingers twitching to reach for their tasers. It was a mere push and only using the tips of his fingers. No matter how they thought or how it seemed, this kid had some sort of strength enhancing Quirk that granted him the ability to not only shove their Senior Officer to the ground, but do it with little to no effort whatsoever. To the eyes, the boy was not skinny by no means, but his size made it clear he should not be able to do such a thing.
"Sir!" The men called out to the downed officer, their volumn catching the foreigners attention which made him look over his shoulder, ocean blue eyes on them.
Pushing himself to his knees, one hand on his hip to grab onto his handcuffs, the Senior officer waved his men off. There was determination deep in his cold, grey eyes, his target being the dark skinned teen. He was embarrassed by the fact the boy casually made him look like a child. In his mind, he was certain that the boy was using a Quirk and the three of them were a weak away from being issued their very own Quirk cancelling cuffs. "Still, I can let this kid disrespect the law." Fixing his feet firmly on the ground, the older man shot forward and slapped one side of the handcuffs on the wrist of the boy during the brief moment he was distracted. "Now..." Panting heavily the man grinned as profound as he could, feeling a bit of self satisfaction in what he accomplished. "If you DON'T mind..."
His ocean blue eyes cut to the left and at the officer that had cuffed his left hand. There was a certain look in his eyes- scratch that, the look displayed was one of evident hatred and disgust. The feeling of a bit of his skin touching him was something he found himself loathing deeply, a sense of insatiable hostility toward the man nearly making him entire being quake.
Still panting from the chase, the man darkened eyes were locked on the wrist of the boy that was cuffed, gathering the other end in a very hasty, very ungainly manner that say the Senior Officer fumble with the metallic item. "Call that- GAH!" Suddenly, a cry of pain left his lips as he instinctively attempted to step away and gain some distance, but was yanked back so that he could stare nearly fearfully at the boy.
"Sir!" The two rookie exclaimed, calling after him.
It seemed as if nothing mattered anymore. Nothing around them maintained a overall presence and it was solely just the two of them...
Name: Kane Nakamura
Quirk: Peak - As the name would suggest, this Quirk pushes the users body beyond its absolute peak, granting a number of physical and mental enhancements such as enhanced strength and agility where he can toss a car then perform some extreme parkour in the same breath without any second thought!
Having used his free hand's index finger and thumb, he gripped the ring finger on the man as he casually pried the man's hand from his wrist. Whilst this occurred, a pleasant smile littered features, spreading from ear to ear as he looked down to the man as he had effortlessly removed the man's hand despite his being a fully grown man.
'W-what the hell!' Stammering inwardly, completely incapable of breaking free from the grip of the younger male. "G-get off me!" Why was this kid so strong? His wrist was on the verge of practically snapping at this point. "This is assault on an officer of the law-"
"If you don't have a Quirk, why do you think you can speak to me any way you want." Even with the smile on his face, the foreigner's voice had a certain edge as he spoke. He lived in reality and in a world of Quirks and those without one were at the very bottom of the totem poll, the lowest level of the food chain. "How bout you take a break." In one swift motion, the young man known a Kane stomped a single foot forward toward the man and slammed his palm into the officer's chest.
His eyes almost came bulging out of his head from the well placed strike to his chest. The pressure sent the man skidding back along the ground, the feeling of an intense pain accompanied by the sound of several of his ribs cracking in his ears. It entered his ears and it was unmistakable. Barely able to stand on his wobbly legs, the officer found himself becoming a victim of his own limits and was dropped down to a single knee.
Kane smirked as he watched the man clutch a hand over his chest. "Get up, I didn't hit you that hard..." Smacking his lips, sucking his teeth, the boy scoffed deeply with him placing both his hands on his hips. It was true...somewhat.
"Freeze!"
By this point, the scene had snatched the attention of the passersby, all watching from a distance, some even recording the event on their phones with premeditated thoughts of posting the video online.
Kane heard the call toward him, it issued more as a warning. So, with a grin gracing his lip, the boy nodded as he began to slowly and very cautiously turn to face the men. In this motion, he was raising both his hands just above his head as he face the two men, not too surprised or caught off guard by the tasers aimed directly in his direction. "Alright, alright, chill out."
They took it as an insult. His voice was cool, calm and collected, not expressing no remorse for what he did nor did it seem as if he would anytime soon. "You've physically assaulted an officer of the law, are you aware of that?" One of the rookie officers questioned, wanting to nail this into the kid's head.
With a certain gleam in his ocean blue eyes, Kane's eyes, for a brief moment observed the men until something caught his attention. Clocking his own timing, the boy cleared his throat as his sights drifted back over to the men. He had to be on time with this else this would be a failed attempt and he didn't need to look stupid on camera. Instantly, his face shifted, the boy taking on a more sympathetic expression, brows turning up. "And I am truly sorry for the ruckus I have caused." His voice was weak, fragile and lacking all the previous confidence it once held and completely substituted with what everyone was seeing before.
"Just stay still..." Though he seemed hesitated, one of the officers spoke to the boy, both himself and his soon-to-be partner edging closer and closer; inch by inch. "Turn around and put your hands behind your back!" Came the fierce warning.
Right on-the-spot, his features twisted. With all intents and purposes...he smiled. Just like a Cheshire cat, it leaking with intent and displaying that he clearly wasn't taking any of this serious. "No, no, real interestin', ya know..." Blatantly ignoring the men, Kane right out toward the street with his right hand and made a 'peace' gesture with his other. "But my rides here." Clapping tightly onto the could metal of a pole, the boy's hair flapped on his back as he was lifted from his feet.
Stuck in shock and awe, their mouths dropped at the sight of the local bus coming pass on it's route and inadvertently giving the boy a way out on the back of it. All they could see was the boy being taken away by the massive vehicle that was only moving on schedule, unaware of the boy hanging on the back of it.
With his hair flapping in the breeze, the boy settled his feet on the small platform that his feet could barely fit on, but he managed. "Whew." Looking back to his rear and toward the officers that were growing far more distant over time due to the speed of the bus. He smirked, snorting deeply, clearly showing his own amusement on his face and how little he truly cared.
Suddenly, the boy felt a vibration coming from his pockets. Using one hand to keep himself from falling to the street and bashing his face upon the pavement and ultimately being trampled and killed by the oncoming traffic, he reach in and pull his smartphone out and practically sweatshops at the sight of name plastered across of the incoming call display. "Ugh, already...?" Visibly, the teen seemed worried, feeling the beads of sweat build up at the back of his neck. This feeling was like that feeling where you knew you screwed up again, but no one you know should know and you were wondering if they knew. "C'mon, Old man..." His stomach was in knots, fearing for when he'd eventually have to answer.
The text sprawled across his screen read 'Gramps' and nickname from Grandfather or Grandpa...
...
His cold, icy blue eyes were steeled. Staring, watching the bus like a human watching ants on the ground as they scurried back to join their kinship. From the elevated height of the office, he could see the city and those that wandered it with a condescending gaze that mirror his expression of disgust. His lavender colored locks hung, bangs swinging aimlessly and before his eyes, almost making them less visible to the normal eye.
It was something simply poisonous to his eyes: kids running the streets rampant and everyone leaving things to either the heroes or local law enforcements. Then they would return to their day as if nothing happened. Wrapped in their phone or gossip, benumbed to what just occurred; what was truly displayed. Lack of care or worry for Heroes. It was foul and disgusting. Though, surprisingly, he didn't vomit.
No...
All he could do was watch from his office window, disgruntled and emotionally bothered by this. His nail hadn't torn skin regardless of how much his fist clinched and shook, filled with a bountiful amounts of fury. No one care and this was what bothered him.
With his bangs shifting in the "breeze", the middle aged man suddenly deadpanned, sighing as his icy blue orb directed themselves to the right and toward a male of a shorter stature than himself. He was holding up an small, portable fan that could be held in one hand, it being the culprit of sending the somewhat annoying breeze. While it was cool on his skin, he felt that there was no need for it and quickly shook his head.
"Would you quit that, Sunichiro." But it wasn't a request for the younger boy. "You're ruining my mood." With two fingers, the man brushed his bangs behind his ear so that his rather handsome face could be out on display. For who? Mind your business! Turning in the opposite direction of the boy and the miniature fan, the man walked over to his desk, eyes closed, not even once attempting to check if there was a chair under him before plopped down.
There wasn't, but just the man would show signs of falling to the floor, a large leather chair with wheels at the bottom would slide under him. This would protect the man from falling to his butt and the courtesy would be all but the males who was dubbed with the surname of Sunichiro. And, nearly instantaneously, the young, twenty-two year old would find himself standing at the other side of the desk, straightening his plain, matte black hair. This was an act of needing to look at least presentable for the man who seemed lost in deep thought.
The sun that shined through the window reflected off his thick, round glasses, making his eyes hidden to the sight of others. Holding his hands down together in front of his lower body, he remained as polite as he could, a look that said he wanted to say something, but didn't want to speak out of turn danced across his features. So what he settled on doing consisted of him rocking back and forth.
Sitting comfortably in his seat, the well dressed man rested his elbow on the chair's arm, his icy blue eyes having glossed over to the side toward nothing in particular as he held his head up with his hand to the side of his chin. There was a incredibly pensive look on his face, deep within his mind, thinking back and forth with himself.
"We're in a grey area..."
Sunichiro blinked at the sudden words that left the man's mouth, it being quite the surprise due to the fact that he commonly would remain silent for the duration of the time in his own head. "Wh-what, Sir?" But the boy quickly stiffened once the icy blue stare was suddenly directed at him. "I mean, is there something bothering you, Sir?" He corrected himself, looking up to the ceiling with a very intense gaze.
With his eyes on the boy for another moment or two, his sight shifted back toward it's last location and that was toward a wall. "People really don't care about Heroes- well, certainly not the common denominator." Blinking only a single time, the man continued. "Nana Shimura was our last Number One that stood for something and came to the rescue with that foolish smile on her face, but it was something everyone loved." It was like the man was remembering something by the look on his face, a smile spreading. "She was our Symbol that stood tall and now she gone, leaving us stagnant. No one resembles her in the slightest and those that stand up to become Heroes are mediocre and carefree...and now they've become ignorant of real threats...they shrug it off and figure the Heroes will handle everything."
Listening to the man, Sunichiro frowned at the man, tilting his head to the side. "What are you thinking, Sir?"
Resting with his hand keeping his head up, the man allowed his eyes to shift back to Sunichiro, remaining quiet for another second or two before he sat up straight. With his eyes shut, he placed his hands on separate arms of the chair, tapping his fingers along the edges. "Maybe the world needs a Hero they can look up to much like they did Nana Shimura." It became deadly silent in not longer than a second.
"...or someone that could install that fear once again..."
...
*No, no, real interestin', ya know, but my rides here.*
She smiled, amused as the light from the device shined against her chocolate colored face and reflecting off her large, ocean blue eyes as her ebullient smile played and danced gracefully on her lips. Pure joy could be seen as she watched the video that was nearly going viral at this point of her twin brother and the Law Enforcements, their encounter priceless and one that clearly amused her. The looks on their faces upon her brother's escape was utterly priceless and was all she needed to make her day.
Her eyes shut for a mere moment as he attention left her phones, head raised at a rather odd angle so that she of see over the horizon and pass the neighborhood houses. With the setting of the sun in the distance, the entirety of Musutafu was bathed in a warmth that came in the form of a orange glow, the sky matching this completely and granting some semblance of stability.
This brought about a smile on Lilith's face, one that radiated a sort of tranquility. It was welcoming and heartfelt above all else. She enjoyed moments like these where the world could show some of it's natural beauty which always caught her eyes.
Pushing off the brown, wooden fence she was leaning on, Lilith turned to her left whilst pocketing her smartphone into the pocket of her khaki colored short shorts. What was in her vision brought glee to her as she watched him approach while also dragging a few of her fingers through her thick, wavy locks that flopped down her back in exaggerated humps.
What she saw was her brother Kane, his eyes directed toward the street of their neighborhood, the boy rubbing the back of his neck as he walked toward her. The look on his face on told that he was somewhat bothered, but not hesitant with anything he was doing. Fear was actually his last thought that crossed his mind, the boy thinking more on an excuse, a lie that could possibly get him out of this mess.
"Glad you actually decided to show up."
Blinking, his eyes trailed forward to see his sister who stood at a height of 5'5 and just three inches shorter than him. The boy eyed the girl for a second or two even as he approached, closing both as he scoffed, shoving both his hands deep into his black jean pockets.
Placing a hand on her hip, the smile seemed glued onto her lips. "Thought you would have skipped town on myself and Grandpa Kidou because what you did." A chuckled escaped her mouth, clearly enjoying everything that was to come even beforehand.
"Yeah...thought bout it..." A deep groan could be heard from behind his teeth. This noise was filled with irritation and anxiety, the young boy playing what could happen several times over in his head. He needed to prepare his ears for the lashing he would receive probably sooner than later. "But the old man would prolly send some people out to find me." And very much to his disdain. "It's better to just run at him head-on; worry bout what's next after." This wasn't something he truly believe in and his voice showed this rather inadvertently with its instability.
Her face never attempted to change or show sympathy for her bother. The video itself was funny and brought laughs to her, but she never said they'd fight back if they were caught. "Yeah, we'll see about that one, bro." Lilith was admittedly a tomboyish girl and never truly held back with certain mannerisms depending on who was around her.
Then came a sound the resembled hard wood clanking against the sturdy concrete below them, causing both the twin to turn their heads in the direction of the two story home and a older gentleman coming down the walkway. Face inundated with wrinkles, a thick grey-white mustache and overgrown eyebrows that matched, the elderly man walked with a hunched back and a black hooked came for aid.
With one hand behind his back, his wrinkled lips parted laughing a haughty and jolly laugh, his voice straining from his age and his eyes never opening. Opposite of theirs, his skin was fair, remaining a healthy shade despite the small scars that riddled both his hands.
Her leisure posture changed in a matter of seconds upon seeing the man, turning in his direction with her back straight and arms down by her side. "He-hello, Grandfather." She spoke as if he was her superior, formal in this manner and making eye contact with him. "Do you need me to go inside?" Throwing this query at him, she felt the sweat bead up at the back of her neck. To her, she was an accomplice to her brother, so she didn't know if she'd face the wrath of their grandfather along with him.
"No, no." With two shakes of her head, the elderly man stopped just at the entrance of the fence. "You're fine right there, Little Lily." He still sounded as jovial as ever.
"A-alright..." Stammering over a knot in her throat that she somehow managed to get down, the girl seemed to relax just a little. 'He hasn't even looked at me.' Lilith thought to herself, brows having been turned upward, worry painting her features above all else. Her ocean blue eyes wandered over to her brother, angling the slightly upward due to him being taller than her and what she saw was him frowning deeply, having turned his attention to the streets.
But a gust of wind shook her. By no means was the breeze strong enough to knock her from her own to feet, but shift her bangs a something just barely made contact with her jaw. This caused her to take a sudden step back regardless of if her reaction time was delayed or not.
With his vision on the street, his ocean blue eyes cut over to see something swiftly approaching the side of his face just at the last second. He was capable of dodging it, though what Kane did was let the staff of the cane swat the side of his face and was taken back at the pain he felt and the blood he was tasting inside his mouth.
"And that's why you shouldn't go around attacking people..." Bringing his cane back to the ground, the older man's eyes never opened and his head remained directed forward without looking toward either of them.
Kane could be seen nursing his jaw with his hand, irritation and anger filling his features as he stomped toward the shorter male, pretty much towering over the 4'7 guy. "What the hell was that for, Old Man!" He bellowed as he stood in the pathway of him.
"Kane, calm down." Lilith held up her hands, hissing this toward Her brother in an attempt to defuse this tired situation.
Remaining steeled with his eyes shut and not even raising his head to look up to the 5'10 teenager, the older man chuckled lightly. "If you still don't know how to deactivate your Quirk or when it deactivates itself, you need to refrain from using it or you'll hurt someone, boy." Just a crack, but his eyes opened to show a glimmer of golden light being emitted as his head cranked back. "I'm tired of getting calls and having to get you out of trouble all the time when you can barely tell when your gift is on or off. You've become so arrogant that you think your Quirk will protect you so you'd rather take a hit other than actually dodging like I've taught you."
"Tsk!" He was almost like a bull seeing red, sucking his teeth as he stomped closer to the man they dubbed as a Grandfather. "Arrogant? What's that's suppose to mean?" Kane was exuding intent. Nothing deadly, but exceptionally confrontational, if one would label it.
"Oh?" Shutting his eyes back, the senior citizen gave another laugh, almost mocking the boy. This time he his hand moved quicker than before and whacked Kane across the bridge of his nose which ultimately caused the boy to give out an anguishing groan. "It's like having the thought that you can fight toe to toe against the same man that taught you everything." Again, he used the cane to swat Kane, but hitting one of his knees in one swift motion.
Shifting his left leg back along ground. Kane's teeth were gritted as tight as he could, glaring at him. "Quit it, Old Man!" He barked, fist clinched at his side's, shaking with absolute anger that he was barely capable of properly controlling.
Bringing his other hand from behind his back to rest with his other hand on top of the cane, all the older man could do was shake his head. "I promised someone that I'd punish you for assaulting an officer..."
Growling, Kane raised his foot and sent a simple push kick straight.
Due to his height, it was aimed more at his head, though the old man lifted his cane and held it out so that the bottom of his cane would take the brunt of the strike. "...but don't think of this as a punishment..." Realizing Kane's Quirk still was inactive as the kick connecting only pushed him back a few inches, the man laughed. "Think of it as, like you'd say, as having fun." No time was wasted as he instantly flipped the cane to the hook end, using the momentum to swat Kane's foot away.
And this caused the boy to grunt before pain soared throughout his chin as the short man swung the cane upward and whacked him. Attempting to regain his composer, he lunged forward and launched a punch down at him.
Which was instantly deflected with little to no effort, using Kane's usually hotheaded side and his cane to swat his fist upward.
The force behind this made Kane's fist slap his forehead, but he was incapable of recuperating as he felt the hook of the cane wrap around the back of his neck. And with a rough tug, his upper body was brought down at a very fast pace, his teeth clinched even after his forehead collided with something.
His body was bent forward in a bowing form, forehead connecting with his Grandfather's, both of them eye to "eye".
Despite both of his eyes being shut and after the fact both his and his Grandson's forehead made a resounding noise after hitting, the man seemed unaffected. There was a moment of absolute silence between the two that had one of the party fuming with anger and the other calm and collected.
"You must refrain from doing things like that." It was nearly a whisper to the boy. "I cannot keep protecting you, using my connections when you cause havoc with you sister around the city. It makes it look like I haven't taught either of manners and that anger you hold not allow you to accomplish anything, boy. All you need to worry about is successfully making it into Shiketsu with you sister."
Staring at the man, barely any space between the two of them, one could hear Kane scoffing. "I don't need another lecture, Old Man..." He grumbled as he whipped his upper body back, snapping the hook of the cane with relative ease.
This cane as a surprise to the man. It was naturally hard to gauge Kane's Quirk as it popped in and out whenever it felt the need to. Having his hand gripping the cane, it jerked him forward upon Kane's action.
Steadying his posture once again, Kane brought his left foot back and swung it forward toward the man's head. What the boy thought would be his Grandfather casually dodging his strike, but never taking in account that the man was off balance.
Lifting what was left of the cane to the side of his head to block the kick, alerts and warning went off inside his head. All toId the older male to get out the way of the kick, but he could sense that. It was like the presence of a freight train coming to mow him over, so it didn't come as a surprise to him as the rest of his cane snapped in two like a twig and not something made from verawood. But this brief second gave him the breathing room to leap away and onto the lush, green grass that surrounded their place of residence.
Breathing heavily, Kane's eyes were cut over to his Grandfather, staring at the man. The two of them were having a stare down, both knowing what could've happened, but no one truly vocalize it. "Whatever." He scoffed, clearly still angered, but man his way forward. "Stop tryin' to kill all the fun, Old Man, 'cause I'm doin' just fine." Gripping the doorknob to their home, he slung the door open, entering not a second later.
Sighing out with a hang of her head, Lilith was somewhat relieved by the turn of events. Naturally, her brother didn't know when to stop and would go until their Grandfather beat the snot out of him, but he stopped so suddenly this time.
"Dear, oh dear..." Shaking as he bent over to pick up the last piece of his cane, their Grandfather could be seen shaking his head, having boasted such impressive maneuverability being something he was quite use to. "I swear, the boy's anger problem is going to be the death of me one of these days." Though he remained lighthearted, chuckling through this.
Scurring to his side to pick up the hook piece of the cane, Lilith helped the man stand as straight as he could with a hand on his back. "It's alright, Grandfather..." Though she was still a bit worried.
"Oh, thank you, Lily." Nodding his head, the man raised his head in her direction. "Your brothers dragging you around town more often now, right?" But he knew he would not get much confirmation from the girl and by her turning her head away, it was clear. "Well, don't let him drag you away from your studies. I know Shiketsu's exam are coming up and you need to main that and your, what is it, ballet?" Now, with a haughty laugh, he smiled and placed a hand on her's. "Still on the fence on me training you?"
"I'm fine, Grandfather." With a smile if her own, she shook her head back and forth.
"Alright, I know when I'm being rejected." Using the hand that was filled with the pieces of his cane, he waved her off. "Just try and do me a favor and watch over your brother, alright?" He asked, receiving a look from her ocean blues. "He something happens, you remember how to stop him?"
Lilith stayed quiet.
"Right?" It was almost like the man was begging her to answer him and all he received from the girl was a nod. "Good." With a nod of his own,he began to cackle. "Now, how do you feel about some take out? I can order us some pizza." He offered as he was helped forward by the girl.
"That sounds fine, Grandfather." Lilith agreed with a smile on her delicate features. "But...I was actually thinking about cooking your favorite tonight." Her eyes shifted, being rather coy with the man.
And here is a very long prologue chapter from me! Well, it's probably not long for others, but this is my first story and this was a lot. But it was a lot that I enjoyed, so it really wasn't that bad.
But welcome to War & Love: Shiketsu Tales of the Brave and Stupid! I'm finally posting my first story. I wanted to actually do Shiketsu for my for SYOC story because it's barely touched on in the anime & manga. I wanted to flesh them out a bit more like what could possibly go on over there.
But I dont want to go on too long! Everything pertaining to this story is on my profile so find it there.
