Okay, so. I got this idea for an Assassination Classroom fanfiction. It's not an original idea. Many people thought of what would've happened if Nagisa continued to train as an assassin. This is a fic about both that, and a few other ideas that I'm surprised to find a lack of.

Disclaimer: I don't own Assassination Classroom. If I did, Karma would've used shotguns a lot. Assassination Classroom is owned by Yusei Matsui and Shueisha. Leave a review!

"This can't be! This has to be a mistake!" The sound of his father's cry was what turned the head of Ryunosuke Chiba, a 16 year old high school male, away from his studies. He was studying in order to get to his dream college and become an architect, but hearing his father's shout caused him to sneak out his room and walk downstairs.

"I know that we borrowed money, but 800 million yen!?" This stopped Chiba in his tracks. 800 million? How? What was happening? His mother had been hospitalized for a terrible car crash which resulted in his dad needing to borrow money, but 800 million is almost 7 times what his father needed. He peeked around the corner, his maroon eyes instantly zeroing in on his father, yelling at his phone.

"What interest, you never said anything about interest when we made the deal!" his father continued to yell. He listened, and suddenly grew pale.

"What, no no no, wait, I'm sorry. 800 million right? I get you the money in a few months, just please, don't hurt my family." he pleaded. Chiba's eyes narrowed, the knowledge that someone had threatened his family making him rather unhappy. He watched as his father hung up, before crumbling to the floor, beginning to cry. Chiba walked over to him and put his hand in comfort. His father looked up to him.

"Oh, Ryunosuke. Did I wake you?" his father wiped his eyes. Chiba shook his head. "Well, how about you go to bed then. Don't worry, I'll find a way to fix this." His father gave a shaky smile. Chiba walked back up the stairs and sat in his chair. He stared at his book, before shutting it and plopping down on his bed.

'Why? How?' Chiba thought to himself. Despite what his father said, Chiba knew his dad wouldn't be able to balance the debt and finances by himself. Chiba glanced at the drawer of his desk. Unknown to most, hidden inside was an air gun and rubber knife. Remnants of his time in the assassination classroom.

Chiba was a student of Kunugigaoka Middle School. A student of class 3-E to be precise. While many had considered it to be the class of rejects and losers, the government had given them the mission of killing a yellow mutant octopus, who had supposedly blew up 70% of the moon. The octopus, later named Korosensei, was eventually killed, but not before helping turn the entire class into top students and excellent assassins. Chiba in particular was unmatched in his long range sniping abilities.

He stared at the drawer, before shaking his head. The situation was pretty bad, if the company's drastic change in his father's debt and threat to his family was anything to go by. But it didn't warrant the need for him to become an assassin. Especially considering that Chiba was still just 16. Even Korosensei, who had been killed, was killed by Chiba's classmate, Nagisa Shiota, instead of him. Plus it's not like he could find a good gun just anywhere.

"I have a few months. I can get a job no problem. No need to turn to assassination," Chiba murmered. "Besides, if the going gets rough, I can just tap into my college stash. Not enough to pay the entire thing off, but it'll make a good chunk." His college stash was his share of the 30 billion yen for when the class killed Korosensei. Nodding to himself, Chiba closed his eyes, and slept.

-the next month-

Chiba sighed, and dug into his closet. Most of the jobs he applied for were already taken by others, and the one that weren't were either things he couldn't do very well, or he was rejected from. He had managed to get a job as a grocery check, but the pay was only 720 yen, and the debt had increased more, much to the family's dismay. Even the 5 million yen share he had received would only do so much, but he had to lessen the burden somehow. He pulled out the small safe he hidden, and pulled out the money. 5 million, just as he thought. He sighed again, and walked out.

"I'll be back," Chiba told his father, his mother still in the hospital.

"Be careful." His father's eyes were bloodshot, bags under his eyes. Chiba frowned upon seeing this, and walked out the door. The loan shark company was across the city, so he decided to take the train. Riding the train, Chiba wondered what to do.

"5 milllion yen will only do so much. What do I do after that?" Chiba muttered, not noticing a few punks behind him perk up. They grinned, eyes glued onto Chiba.

Chiba got off the train and walked towards the company's building. He glanced at the orange sun, falling behind several buildings. He broke into a jog, only to slow down as he heard a voice call out to him.

"Hey!" Chiba glanced behind him. He saw two taller teens grinning at him wickedly. Chiba turned around, only to stop as another pair of hands grabbed him from the front.

'When did they-!' Chiba was dragged into the space between buildings. The teen shoved him, causing him to fall onto his butt. He glared at the three, who only snarled at him.

"Hey there, we were on the train with ya. Heard ya mention something about 5 million yen?" the tallest mugger growled at Chiba. "How about you hand that over, and we'll let you be."

"Forget it." Chiba growled back. He stood to try to walk past them, only for the thug to grab him.

"Where do you-?" The thug began only to be cut off as Chiba smashed his elbow into his face. Chiba punched him and began running, only to be grabbed and thrown again. Rising up, he threw another punch, but was kneed in the gut. He fell back, and curled up as the three surrounded him, kicking and stomping on his body.

"Excuse me." The three turned. Chiba looked back at the entrance of the alley and saw a familiar person standing there. Light blue hair, not even an inch taller than when they graduated. Nagisa Shiota.

"Oh ho ho! What have we here?" the thug smirked. He stalked over to Nagisa. "What are you doing here little girl? Want to have some fun?" Nagisa frowned at the teen.

"I'm a boy." Nagisa took out a ruler from his pocket. The teen looked at him and laughed.

"A ruler? What the hell is-" the teen began, only to stop. Nagisa was smiling. But not in a natural way. There was something dangerous. Something under the sweetness. The teen began to sweat. The sight of Nagisa faded, leaving only a massive snake. The viper hissed as it slithered closer. The teen backed up, before he whipped around and ran away. His friends followed, also terrified by the aura Nagisa gave off. Chiba stared at Nagisa, surprised.

"You okay?" Nagisa pulled Chiba's arm and helped him stand. Chiba nodded his head.

"Nagisa, what was that?" he asked the assassin in front of him. Nagisa smiled, a sweet, gentle one this time. But Chiba wasn't fooled.

"What was what? I was just preparing to use my stun clapper on him. I guess that-" Nagisa started, only for Chiba to interrupt.

"Your bloodlust. It was similar to when you went up against Takaoka. Like you were about to kill someone." Chiba recalled that moment. Nagisa thought that half the class was poisoned and Takaoka had supposedly blown up the antidotes. Nagisa was enraged and would've actually tried to kill Takaoka if it weren't for Terasaka. But just then, the feeling that Chiba felt. It was as if 10 Nagisas were about to kill him. Nagisa's smile slipped off his face, and he beckoned to Chiba to follow him.

They went to a nearby cafe, and the two sat down. They ordered small coffees and sat in silence. Finally Nagisa spoke.

"You remember how my mom acted, right? How she had forced me to act like I was her daughter," Chiba nodded slowly. "Well, after graduation, she stopped. But other people didn't." Nagisa sipped his coffee, and continued to talk.

"My bloodlust continued to grow. It was growing before the Assassination Classroom, but during the class, I was able to focus it, release it. After graduation, I had nowhere to release it. So I developed a technique, one designed for me to safely release my bloodlust towards others. I actually designed it to be used alongside my stun clapper. So that even if they didn't know the fear of death beforehand, they would when I used it on them. Karma calls it, Death's Presence. Pretty cheesy huh?" Nagisa chuckled. Chiba smiled. It sounded like something that the red devil of 3-E would say. Nagisa gestured to Chiba.

"What about you? Why were you attacked?" Nagisa asked. Chiba's smile fell. He looked at Nagisa, before deciding to tell him. Chiba didn't really like telling others his problems, but Nagisa was the class' best assassin, right alongside Karma, he knew how to keep a secret. He told Nagisa about his mother's car crash, the hospital fees, the car fees, the debt, and the loan sharks.

Nagisa folded his hands and rested his chin on them. He looked thoughtfully at Chiba. Chiba looked back, drinking his coffee quietly. Nagisa seemed to debate with himself about something. Finally, he sat up straight, and looked at Chiba with piercing blue eyes.

"I noticed that you haven't kept up your training." Nagisa stated. Chiba nodded. Nagisa then said something that surprised him.

"If you restart your training, I could have you help me out with some bounty hunting." Chiba stared at Nagisa surprised. He had expected some advice, a job recommendation, or just a pitying apology, not this.

"Bounty hunting?" Chiba frowned. Nagisa nodded.

"I told you that I developed a technique that allowed me to release my bloodlust. That's not the only way I was able to contain it." Nagisa told Chiba. He stood and motioned Chiba to follow him. They paid and left. As they were walking, Nagisa told Chiba about what he had been doing for the past years.

"After graduation, my mother and father decided to give their marriage another try. We went to live with my dad and his parents. My grandpa apparently was a samurai, and he detected the bloodlust I had in me. He made me take lessons in Kendo, Kenjutsu, Iaijutsu, Shinkendo, and Bushido. He gave me lessons about mudras and hand symbols." Nagisa recounted. Chiba was impressed. Not only had Nagisa kept up his training in assassination, he had also added numerous additional styles to his arsenal. As if he wasn't deadly enough already.

"After I finished my Bushido and Shinkendo training and began my Kendo training, I decided to try and enter a sword fighting tournament. I invited Karma, Sugino, Kayano, Ms Bitch and Mr Karasuma to come watch. Mr Lovro also came to see how much I had improved." Chiba remembered the Russian Assassin, and how he had complimented his sniping skills. So Lovro was still interested in Nagisa's skills. He had seemed quite eager to teach Nagisa after all.

"Mr Lovro was impressed, and he offered me a job as an assassin. I declined, but then he told me that he was offering a job for as an assassin, not for assassination. He said that I could use my skills as just a bounty hunter, and that I didn't really need to kill anyone. I had already decided to find a way to pay my mother back for all she spent on me, and just a job at bounty hunting seemed to be a good way to make money. I thought about it for about a month, and I decided to take him up on the offer. He told me to recruit a few classmates in case it was too rough for me alone."

"So you offered it to me." Chiba said. Nagisa nodded.

"I asked Karma and Kayano. They both agreed. But we still need a person for long ranged combat. Either you or Hayami." Nagisa said. He stopped and looked at Chiba. His eyes were focused, as if they were planning another assassination.

"You could accept my offer if you want. But you have to understand that if you do, you accept the possibility that you might kill someone or be killed yourself. We'll try to keep the killing at a minimum, but our targets won't. And we might have to kill, depending on the situation." Nagisa warned Chiba. Chiba looked down, thinking.

"Will it be an even split?" Chiba asked. Nagisa nodded.

"We also vote on the target," Nagisa added. Chiba looked at Nagisa. There were only around two months left, and he needed quick money. But the possibility of death and killing still hung onto his mind. Chiba opened his mouth to refuse, but as if to stop him, the memories of his mother in the hospital, his father crying surfaced. He steeled his nerves. His family came first and foremost, not his morality. Still hesitant, he nodded.

"If you give me about a month, I'll do it. But only until I've paid off my debt. I'll work with you guys until then." Nagisa smiled a happy smile.

"Welcome to our team."

So that was Chapter One of "A Sniper's Life." I think it turned out pretty good, but I would always appreciate some constructive criticism. Let me know what you think, and whether or not I should add Hayami and some others to the team. Choose one of the following:

Hayami (she's gonna be in this story one way or another)

Rio (because the prankster duo)

Itona (why not?)

Terasaka (because Karma)

Okuda (because Karma)

Isogai (the resident prince charming)

Maehara (the playboy)

I'll probably try to make Chiba kinda like Deadshot and a few other snipers. Nagisa is the Ninja Samurai. Karma is, well, Karma. Kayano. Hmm, dual knives or pistols. Wait, should Nagisa use guns too. It would make sense, but swords. Karma should definitely use a shotgun. No wait, assault rifles. Ah, so many choices. I'll let you guys decide. Until next time, Azure out!
