Chapter One: Paws Off (Protection)

Mina was normally a very forgiving and easygoing person. Even given their hectic lives as hero students, it was hard to really get on her nerves. Sure, she could get frustrated and a little mad sometimes, but rarely did she become truly irritated with someone.

Right now, however, her patience was being tested to its utmost limits.

They were at the Summer Training Camp once again, working with the Wild Wild Pussycats to improve their Quirks. It was their second year, and with the League of Villains no longer in the picture, it was already a much better experience than the first one.

But even though they didn't have to worry about villains popping up, Mina still had to deal with the Pussycats—well, one of them in particular.

Pixie Bob was trying to call dibs on her boyfriend.

Last year it had been funny to watch the heroine mess around with the boys of her class and "call dibs" on them. And this year, it was still funny, except for the fact that Pixie Bob couldn't seem to stop calling dibs on Mina's boyfriend in particular.

Izuku looked uncomfortable at best and terrified at worst as the blonde heroine felt up his arms adoringly, chattering all the while. "You've aged well this last year! By the time you graduate, you'll be such a hunk! I better stay on my toes so I can snatch you up as soon as I can!"

Mina's eyelid twitched. She would not lose her temper. She would not. Izuku was still shy about PDA, she didn't want to make him even more uncomfortable—

Pixie Bob muttered something in the teenager's ear and his face blossomed a deep shade of red.

…Nope, never mind.

Mina marched up to them from her current training exercise, causing Izuku to blanch as he spotted his girlfriend coming in. Pixie Bob saw her as well, and smiled at her. "What's up, girlfriend? Need help with something?"

Without a word, she tugged Izuku's arm out of Pixie Bob's grasp, lifted a hand to the back of Izuku's head, and pulled him down to kiss him briefly. While his brain was still trying to function, she pressed his face against her neck a little possessively and twisted her head to stare at Pixie Bob, whose mouth had fallen open. Her lips curved up into a smirk as her spare arm slipped around Izuku's back and pulled him flush against her.

"Mine," Mina told her with faux sweetness. "Paws off, kitty."

Pixie Bob looked like her soul had left her body, but then the sound of uproarious laughter had Mina jumping in surprise and twisting her head the opposite direction. She blushed slightly when she realized Ragdoll and Mandalay were both watching, and both looked all too amused.

Ragdoll was hugging her stomach and laughing uncontrollably. "Th-the look on your f-face! Ahahahahahahaha!"

Mandalay just snorted, shaking her head. "I wondered how long it'd take before she encroached on someone else's territory. Sorry about that."

Mina flushed a little more and she could feel Izuku practically on fire against her, but she managed to retain her composure. "W-well, you're forgiven…as long as she stops hitting on my boyfriend."

"She'll stop," Mandalay promised, walking over to Pixie Bob's frozen shape and gently tugging her towards the camp cabins. "I'll make sure she knows not to mess around with the boys so much."

"You kittens have fun!" Ragdoll sang cheerily as she and Mandalay took Pixie Bob to recover from her shock.

Mina sighed and finally let Izuku go, although he stayed close to her for a moment before wrapping his arms around her firmly. She blinked and looked up at his face. "Izuku?"

"S-sorry," he stammered, looking ashamed. "I-I should've said something when she was—"

"It's okay," Mina told him gently. "I know how shy you are. Plus she's always been a bit…obnoxious about this stuff. She had to be told off at some point."

He nodded slightly. "So…we're good, right?"

She snorted, smirking at him. "Of course we are. But if you wanna be sure…kiss me?"

Izuku didn't hesitate before planting his lips against hers, reassuring Mina 100% (not that she needed reassurance, of course) that her boyfriend was still most definitely hers.

"Alright, back to work, you two." Aizawa's annoyed voice had them both yelping in surprise. He'd seen the whole thing, and as amusing as it was, there was still work to be done. He stared at them with his usual, dead-eyed look. "Or it's extra studying after dinner for you."

"Y-yes, sir!" They both stammered, then fled back to their respective training areas.

He shook his head in exasperation. Teenagers.
