Chapter 1

"At last, we have finally captured the elusive One-Eyed Jack," said an icy voice. It belonged to a dark, foreboding figure in a black hooded cloak. Armed goons were posted behind him. He shuffled towards One-Eyed Jack's direction.

"Tarot! I should have known." Exclaimed One-Eyed Jack. He felt that his hands were bound behind his back, his legs were bound as well. He felt something scratchy around his neck. He looked up and was shocked to realize that it was a noose. He swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to remain calm. "So, what's all this then?"

"Your fate, it was in the cards!" Said Tarot, holding up a tarot card. Inscribed on the card was a drawing of a man hanging upside-down by his ankle. "As soon as I pull this lever, your fate will be complete."

"You're crazy, you can't be the one to decide people's fate," spat One-Eyed Jack. He struggled, but couldn't get free of his restraints.

"Silence!" Barked the hooded figure. He looked up at One-Eyed Jack, who was still struggling in his restraints. He cackled at the sight. "I couldn't have predicted it any better, not even you're partner is around to save you." "Soon, this whole city will quake before Tarot!"

"Tell it to the judge, fortune teller!" Shouted a familiar voice. High above the rafters stood Ace Savvy, heroic as ever. He was shrouded in shadow. Tarot groaned in frustration and pointed a gnarled, bony finger at him.

"After him!" He bellowed. Two men aimed their machine guns at the ceiling and began to fire. Ace bolted from his position. He grabbed onto a nearby cable and swung down, taking the armed thugs out upon landing. Other thugs came at him with iron bars, crowbars, and baseball bats.

"Um, Ace!? A little help up here!" Begged One-Eyed Jack.

Ace threw a playing card behind him, not breaking concentration from the fight. It sailed towards One-Eyed Jack, cutting the rope clean in two. He was able to land on his feet, despite them being bound together. He strained with all his might, and was finally free of the ropes that bound his hands together. He quickly untied his legs and jumped down to join his partner in the fight.

"I'll handle these guys, just make sure Tarot doesn't get away!" Said One-Eyed Jack.

Ace saluted him. "Roger that, partner!" Ace's eyes scanned the warehouse, he spotted Tarot up on one of the catwalks, running for his life. He shot his grappling hook, ascending up towards the catwalk. He landed gracefully in front of Tarot. The villain gasped, falling to the ground. He tried to crawl away from the hero, but was apprehended.

"I've got a prediction for you Tarot. Tomorrow, the headlines will say 'Tarot's luck runs out.'"

A uniformed policeman lowered Tarot's head down and stuffed him into the backseat of a waiting police car. Ace and Jack stood next to each other, beaming with pride. An old, bespectacled man approached them.

The old man smiled at them warmly. "Thanks again boys, we won't be hearing from him in a long time."

"You're welcome commissioner," Said Ace and Jack, in unison. Jack fished in his pocket.

"Hey Ace, he left one of his cards behind," said One-Eyed Jack. Ace looked up at the card that his partner was holding. A king sitting on a throne, holding a sword was inscribed on the card. Underneath the picture was the word "Justice."

Lincoln put the finishing touches on the last panel of the comic. Clyde watched with anticipation. "And...We're finished!" Said Lincoln, triumphantly. The boys cheered. "Welp, after months of hard work, Clyde and I finally finished our comic." Said Lincoln. "We're gonna enter it into the Comic Creators of Tomorrow Contest. The winner gets a chance to have their original comic published, and $10,000 to 'continue their work!'" "Me and Clyde are gonna split the winnings 50/50." Said Lincoln.

"Not to mention that the creator of Ace Savvy himself hands you a trophy in front of a bunch of cheering comic book fans!" Remarked Clyde. "What are you gonna do with your winnings Linc?"

"My parents' anniversary is coming up. I'm thinking about getting them cruise tickets."

"Cool! My dad's are gonna put it in my college fund, they always say 'nothing is more important than knowledge.'" Remarked Clyde.

Lincoln placed the comic in a bubble mailer and sealed it. "Clyde, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He asked.

"You don't mean-"

"Oh, I mean."

Lincoln opened up his drawer and pulled out a binder containing his stamp collection. He leafed through the binder and pointed down at the page."This is the one!"

"You're Ace Savvy commemorative stamp? Lincoln, are you sure?" Asked Clyde nervously.

"Clyde, don't worry it'll bring us good luck." Lincoln stuck the stamp onto the mailer.

"Now the tricky part is going to be getting this thing downstairs and to the mailbox in one piece," joked Clyde.

Lincoln and Clyde crept down the stairs and out the door. No sign of any trouble from his siblings so far. When they opened the mailbox, they were instantly pelted with an unknown substance. Banana cream pie, one of Luan's pranks. Luckily, the envelope stayed clean. "On second thought Clyde, let's just use the postal box a few blocks down."
