I woke up to see the light of the morning. I couldn't believe how late I had gotten up. Luckily, it was summer and I was finished with homeschooling until September. I went to the living room and noticed that Dad was at work.
I decided to try get some breakfast, though I wasn't really hungry. As I got some eggs ready, someone knocked at our front door.
"This early," I groaned. I went to our window and looked out to see a man dressed in black standing at our door. I backed away and went to the other window and saw robots with bright red eyes, looking at the door.
I backed up in fright, trying to think. I saw it was the Zachbots from my favorite show. My mind raced to the fact I went outside through my back door. I left the door open to get a better chance of survival. I looked over by the corner and asked stupidly, "Who are you?"
Zach turned and smiled, "Ah! Just the girl I was looking for."
I stepped out and said, "What do you want? I don't even know you," I lied.
Zach pointed his finger, "Zachbots! Get her!"
I ran into the house the second he mentioned me. I shut the back door and locked all three locks. Luckily, the windows were shut, but I couldn't trust the Zachbots. I could see that the Zachbots were smarter... They had unlocked the door. But couldn't come in through the chain. I smiled until I lost it when a chainsaw snapped the chain into two.
My chihuahua woke up to my screaming and was barking crazily. She guarded and barked at the Zacbots as they got closer. One opened the front door for Zach, who came in and brushed his suit.
I shut my bedroom door, but a chainsaw broke it open. My hands were captured by hard cold metal. I couldn't fight anymore.
"Peanut!" I cried.
My chihuahua ran in and nipped at Zach's shoes. Zach screamed and jumped into the air and hit himself against the wall. Zach said, "Zachbots! Cage it!"
"Peanut!"
The zachbots caged my dog who was now scared. I was scared as Zach smiled, "Come on, Zachbots! Now to get revenge on the Wild Kratts!"
I gasped, knowing that I was in big trouble.
I was put into some cage. Peanut was thrown in with me. I hugged my shaking chihuahua who was once so tough, but now thinking that she is not loved anymore. I petted my dog to assure her that we go home sooner or later.
I heard Zach's evil laughing as he came around the bend. I held my Chihuahua close, as she showed her teeth and growled.
Zach had the Zachbots following him with some screen. I noticed the people: Donita, Dabio, and Gourmand. He was saying something, but I noticed that Donita was staring at me.
"Zach, who is this miserable looking creature?!"
I was so offended and wanted to speak, but Zach answered, "My tool of getting the Wild Kratts under my... I mean, our hold."
Gourmand groaned, "Remember, Zach. We are trusting you on this. We're coming over in a few."
"Sure. I'll be here."
The screen went out. Zach turned to me and smiled evilly, "You better get ready, young lady. You will never be trusted again."
I wanted to scream for help, but there was no use. Zach put a CD in the Zachbot's head and said, "Zachbot, bring this to the Wild Ratts. This will make them come at me so I can fulfill my evil plan."
I don't know how the Wild Kratts have reacted to the CD. I don't know what was on the CD. I hoped it wasn't a trap. I hugged Peanut and hoped that I would go home. Peanut was tired of growling, now her tail was in the air, and she was ready to charge.
I saw Gourmand walking in with a bit of pride in his voice. It was his usual chant he was singing. He was big from the stomach upwards. His legs were thin, thinner than Peanut. I wonder how he could stand being that big.
Gourmand came over to my cage and took out a spoon, "Boy, I have been planning my recipe all afternoon. Human Roast with a touch of Chihuahua sauce."
I felt Peanut get offended. She barked and barked, until Gourmand laughed and walked away. I wanted to scream so bad. I hugged my legs in guilt, wondering if Dad was scared, trying to find his daughter. I knew he would be.
Donita came in with Dabio. Dabio was carrying her when she motioned him to bring her to my cage. She looked at me and said, "What a poor girl, Dabio. Pity, I say, is not enough to make Zach stop what he's going to do. The only thing that would make me make him stop is if you give in to us."
I was scared now. What were they going to do to me? I sighed and said to Peanut, "I guess we're goners, girl."
Peanut whined like she was talking to me. Time went by fast, making me think Dad wasn't asleep.
Gourmand came back to my cage. I was scared. He opened the door and said, "Come on, Roasty."
I was scared. My chihuahua was tired. She couldn't protect me, because she was hungry and so was I. I quickly cried, "Who's that?!"
Gourmand's eyes went wide as he turned around. With all my strength, I rammed my shoe into Gourmand's neck, causing him to fall down to the fllor. I cried, "Peanut, come on!"
Peanut stood up and ran after me. We ran to freedom. Zach cried for his Zachbots to get me, but I was much ahead of time. Peanut and I ran to cover ourselves so the Zachbots wouldn't find us.
We waited. And waited. The zachbots finally gaveup. Zach cried so loud, that I could hear him, "If you don't find that girl, she'll ran to the Wild Ratts!"
Lightbulb! I got to find the Wild Kratts. But where was I? Once the last Zachbot was in the building, I picked Peanut up and ran to the hospital, just for safety.
The hospital was pretty far by foot. I was panting with a screaming side when I finally reached the hospital. I entered the emergency room and told the people about what had happened. They were shocked. Then, I realized, that I wasn't myself. I, too, was cartoonized. The security guard told me that I didn't belong here and that I should go to the police.
"Where the heck am I supposed to go?" I cried, holding Peanut close to me. I ran out to the streets. I had to keep moving so Zach won't find me... WHAT?
I stopped in the middle of one street. I noticed a familiar jeep parked in front of a house. The house had a big window which was open from the curtains and the lights were shadowing a few people. I knew the jeep was the Createrra! I ran up the lane to the walkway and knocked on the door, crying for help.
The house went quiet, I could tell. Peanut was sitting on the stairs, quiet, until she started barking. I saw the Zachbots' red eyes, I cried out for help and banged on the door.
Finally, I heard a few locks unlocked. The door opened and I cried, "Hide me! The Zachbots found me!"
"Get in, now!"
I picked up Peanut and ran inside. I didn't want to see where I was, but I heard the door sham shut. I went behind a curtain and held Peanut close to me, for fright.
Finally, everything went quiet. I had my eyes closed shut. I didn't even feel the curtain moved away from me, but a calm voice startled me, "Are you okay?"
I jumped and opened my eyes. Peanut was growling for to protect me. The face was anything but familiar. I started to cry.
"Mom! You scared her!"
But the old woman took me into her arms and tried to comfort me. But I kept crying, "My Dad must be worried about me!"
The woman said, "It's okay. We'll help you."
"Tell us about those Zachbots. Why were they following you?"
"Bro! She's dead scared!"
I recognized the two voices and opened my eyes. Before me was three men and behind them were two girls and one more guy. I recognized them and I cried, "Kratt brothers!"
Chris and Martin looked at each other in shock, "What?"
I ran over to Martin and hugged him, "Martin... I thought I'll never find you or your brother!"
Martin was very awkward, I could tell. But he fell on one knee and hugged me back, "What happened?"
"I don't know what they are going to do to me... or to you!"
"Who?"
"Zach, Donita, and Gourmand!"
Chris was frowning, "I can't believe this! I knew we shouldn't leave the Tortuga alone!"
A girl stepped up and smiled, "But Jimmy put it down to lockdown and invisiblibilty."
"Still, Aviva! Zach can still find it."
I smiled and said, "Aviva... Koki... Jimmy... I know you all."
Martin stopped hugging me and Aviva knelt down. I was still on my own knees. I was shaking. Peanut was getting friendly to the older folk, which I assume was the Kratt brothers' parents.
Suddenly, a girl came running downstairs. I was scared as she said, "Martin. You know it's bedtime."
"Hang on, Laura. We have a victim from Zach's ship."
"Not Zach again!"
Martin walked over and kissed her gently, "She's scared..."
Laura groaned.
Aviva stood up and helped me up. She rubbed my hair aside, "Now what's your name?"
I was so scared that no one ever got to hear my name. I answered, "Rachel-Ann. But you can call me Rachel."
Aviva smiled, "Where does your Dad live?"
I was afraid, but I answered, "He lives in another place... Another world... It's got to be night... I was kidnapped at day."
I could hear the gasps of everyone. Chris came up and said, "Where?!"
"The human world. Not the cartoon world."
Aviva answered, "Rachel. The cartoon world compared to the reality world is different. While you are here, it is still day there. It's like time is frozen. You can stay here for twenty years and go home to your father and be... How old are you?"
"Going to be eighteen in a couple months."
"You will still be eighteen in the real world. Time has frozen in place."
I was shocked, but happy. My Dad doesn't even know about my access to this world. All was well now. I felt better.
Martin said, "Since you're with us, you will be super safe. Come on, guys, let's get into the Createrra and get home."
I stayed close to Aviva and Chris, who walked close. I wonder if my ships were true, but I didn't say anything, so I don't embarrass them. The ride home was quiet and I basically slept on Aviva's arm.
The Tortuga was bigger than it was in the cartoon episodes. I saw Chris come in and stopped where I was. He said, "You need some shut eye. We'll stay up a bit late before we sleep. You can sleep on Aviva's hammock."
I saw the hammock 'floating'. I shifted my foot around in my shoe, "I can't climb..."
Chris stared at me, "A teenager who can't climb? Did you have an accident?"
"No... I tried to use those monkey bars... But i just don't have the strength."
Chris smiled, "Wait here."
I picked up Peanut and said, "Everything's going to be okay. Everything is left the way it is. Nothing's changed at home."
Chris came back with Aviva. She smiled, "Chris told me about your problem. I got some sheets here and I'll make you a hammock closer to the floor."
"Thanks, Aviva."
In seconds, the new hammock was tied to the poles. Just above was Chris' hammock. Chris climbed into his and said, "If anything happens," he yawned before finishing, "I'll be able to catch it in time."
I smiled as I lay in my own. I felt the sheet sway a bit, dozing me to sleep. Peanut cuddled close to me and felt asleep herself, long before I did. I watched the gang settle to bed and heard the slight snoring of each member. I fell asleep seconds later, secured.
