When Terra comes to the Human World, the first place she teleports to is a jungle in Australia. It's very hot in the jungle, and Terra passes out from the heat after a day long of exploring it. A teenage girl named "Olivia" finds her passed out and she takes her back to her place.
When Terra wakes up, she's on a bed in Olivia's small house. Olivia gives Terra water and then she drinks it. Terra thanks her for saving her life, and then Terra asks Olivia where she's at. Olivia tells her she's in Australia, and then she gives Terra back the book that she found on her. Olivia tells her she was exploring around in the jungle like how she used to do when she was little until she found her. Olivia comes from a poor family, and Terra notices that, but she still thinks she will still make a great partner.
Terra explains to Olivia what she is and where she came from and why she's here, but Olivia doesn't believe her at first until Terra has her cast a spell from her book. At this moment, Olivia realizes she's needed and decides to to be Terra's partner and take part in the battle.
Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Japan, a dark shadowy figure merges from a detroyed underground subway tunnel with a creepy-looking man holding a book. The dark Shadowy figure calls himself "Sagon" and the creepy-looking book owner calls himself "Jen". Sagon has the powers over shadow and he's very powerful. Both Sagon and Jen appear to have evil intentions.
Somewhere in another part of Japan, a pale-looking teenage demon wearing black clothes named "Vin-Von" is with his American teenage book owner named Dave, and they are looking for opponents. Vin-Von is Brago's grandson, and he's hoping to honor his legacy by winning the competition. Vin-Von is obsessed with Brago and wants to be like him.
Back to Yua and Lis, Yua and Lis are visiting a museum, and they are enjoying their time. Lis tells Yua "I didn't think history in the Human World would be so interesting", in which Yua replies "you just don't know what to expect when exploring new things."
However their fun comes to a end when they encounter another demon with her book owner. The demon has the power over wind and her is name is "Wissa", and the book owner's name is "Haruto". Wissa and Haruto start attacking them, and so they have to fight in the museum. Yua has Lis block and defend against Wissa's attacks long enough for everyone else to get out of the museum.
Wissa is proven to be a powerful opponent and Lis is about to lose until Yua unlocks a new spell in her book, and then she uses the spell to defeat Wissa and burn her book. Haruto is scared that Yua and Lis are going to hurt him due to what he done, so he runs off.
So now Lis and Yua have defeated two opponents.
