Haruhi Fujioka was sitting in the corner of the biggest closet she had ever imagined. She had her knees pressed close to her chest, with her arms wrapped around them. Pillows covered the floor beside her, and long blankets hung neatly above. She was trying her best to stay quiet. "Theres no way anyone will find me here" she thought. Haruhi had once again found herself in a questionable situation.
Friday afternoon, Tamaki Souh had requested each of the host club members meet at his mansion the next day. He had learned of a ~new~ commoners game, Hide and Seek. Although she tried her best to get out of it, Haruhi finally agreed to go when Kyoya hinted at a "club truancy fee".
Haruhi was the last to arrive at the mansion. Tamaki had already started explaining the game to the others. Luckily, Haruhi was already familiar with the game. "So, whoever is the hardest to find will get a point. The person with the most points at the end of the day will get to pick what the host club will do over spring break! Hows that sound?" He asked. Everyone agreed this was a good plan. Since it was Tamaki's idea, they decided he should try to find everyone first. To make things easier, they had limited hiding time to ten minutes, and seeking time to one hour. They had also made strict boundaries, which meant all hiding must be kept on the middle floor of the mansion.
Haruhi had learned not to put too much thought into the boys ideas, especially Tamaki senpai's. They were all use to a much richer lifestyle than she. Each had many different experiences from fancy cuisines to traveling exotic places on a whim. But, this also meant they did not have much time to enjoy the little things in life. That meant, most of the time, these childish games were a much bigger deal to them than to her. But not this time. If anyone got to pick the groups next plans, it was going to be her.
Although she would never admit it, Haruhi usually did have fun during the guys random trips or plans. She was very appreciative of all that they do for her. But she was also very tired. If she wasn't busy with host club meetings or school activities, she was being drug into another spontaneous adventure. This win would be the perfect opportunity for a quiet, relaxing week. One where she could unwind and catch up on her rest. One without them constantly pulling her in different directions. One where maybe, just maybe, she would get to bed at a reasonable hour. She couldn't pass this up. She had to win no matter what.
When Tamaki yelled go, Haruhi raced out of the room. The others were surprised to see her so enthusiastic about one of Tama's games. They decided not to worry about it too much, and each took off towards a seperate room. Everyone was looking for the perfect hiding space.
Haruhi had made it to the end of the hall before deciding on a room to explore. She didn't know how much time was left, so she ran into the last room on her right. She began looking around frantically. It seemed to be some sort of storage space for the guest rooms supplies. She tried hiding behind the curtains, under a couch or two, but nothing seemed right. She was about to give up and try another room when she spotted them. A pair of sliding wooden doors against the side wall. She opened them up to the closet and decided that's where she would stay.
Haruhi grabbed a few pillows and started stacking them around her. They were messy enough to not raise suspicious, but neat enough that they would not require the attention of a maid. After creating a pile big enough to hide behind, she made herself comfortable. Hopefully, she would be there a while.
