Much dust had settled on the event of Battle of Hogwarts, when on a sunny afternoon, Ronald Weasley saw Pansy Parkinson once again. She was sitting at a tea shop in Diagon Alley, flipping through a magazine.
The sight of her had fascinated him in a way he couldn't explain. So he didn't try.
He just followed his instincts and approached her. After having a hour of delightful conversation, he had asked her out.
Years later, after their first civil conversation. Pansy Parkinson said 'yes' to the young man on his knee in front of her.
Six months later, they said 'I Do' to one another infront of all their family and friends.
Draco, Pansy's best friend and Brother of her heart, sat in the front row, witnessing her wedding. While His lovely wife of two years, stood behind Pansy as her Matron-of-Honour.
As the Bride and Groom kissed, Draco's gaze moved to the Best man, Harry Potter, who was grinning like a fool and clapping. His wife, Ginny and his one year old son James Sirius sat in the Groom's side of the aisle.
After Harry's best man speech, Astoria Malfoy as the matron of honour stood to deliver her speech. She looked radiant in her silky peach Gown. Her being 2 months pregnant obviously agreed with her.
"Hello, everyone. As you see, I am the next in line to give the happy couple my best wishes. Which I do; I do wish them a very happy married life and all the happiness and adventure in the world."
Everyone cheered and clapped at her words,
"Although, you see, I might be the official Maid of Honour, I am not in reality. I am representing someone else who is very dear to our lovely Pansy's heart, someone who adores her and would be standing here in my place if not for the minor technicality of him being a man."
Everyone laughed out loud.
" Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to You Pansy's best friend and my Husband."
she concluded and tipped her glass towards Draco.
Draco laughed as he stood up and gave his wife a kiss on her cheek.
"As you could all see, my wife is a handful, thus proving to the cause of my receding hairline."
Again people laughed. The couple were clearly made for one another. It was obvious to Harry that they adored each other.
"She is right though, I adore Pansy. Over the years she has only proven how loyal and brave she is. Year after year she has only made me prouder of her. A sister I never had. I truly believe that she deserves the World and the stars."
Pansy had tears in her eyes as she blew him a kiss.
"And Weasley. You must realise by now that how lucky you are, if not I would be happy to show you what happens,
when Pansy gets hurt, anytime." He glared at Ron, who only rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around Pansy. Nothing could ruin his mood today.
"No need to draw your wand Auror Potter, I am sure the groom did the same to you when you married his Sister." he said meeting Harry's eyes and tipping his glass of him. Harry smiled
and took hold of his wife's hand on the table. Yet Draco continued on,
"Although over the years, I have also come to know you, Ron. I am so happy to know that she will always be safe and happy with him."
He raised his glass and as did everyone else,
"To Mr. and Mrs. Weasley."
"You didn't have to drag me into it, Malfoy."
"Well, l just assumed you wil take your job as the a best man seriously and duel anybody daring to threaten the Groom. Guess I was wrong about you prowess, Potter." He told Harry with a smirk and a devilish twinkle in his eye.
Harry rolled his eyes, "So says the Unofficial Maid-of-Honour."
Draco shot him a dirty look.
No matter how grown up they are they never seemed to resist the childish need to needle one another. Like with one another they never grew from the school yard boys hurling insults at one another for no reason. Even if they were on the verge of having children themselves.
"How have you been, Malfoy?" Harry asked sobering up.
"I am fine. Didn't we agree to call each other by our first names years ago?"
"Yeah we did."
"So how is Fatherhood treating you?"
" It's weird. Somedays I am tired, other days I am Over the moon in Happiness. Everyday I see something new, discover something new about my little boy. Nothing could have prepared me for the experience." Harry told him honestly.
"Is that so?" Draco looked at Harry with a worried expression.
Harry studied his one time rival fir a minute. Then he broke into a grin.
"I think Congratulations are in order. How far along is she."
"How did you know?"
"well I saw that expression in the mirror everyday for nine months." he siaid pointing at Draco's face.
"It lasts that long?"
"You didn't know? My My Draco..." Harry couldn't help but needle him.
"Shut up potter, You know what I am talking about." Draco felt a little flustered due to the news and a little because Harry had addressed him by his given name.
Harry sighed and decided to cut Draco some slack.
"Yes. Women might go through the actual process but it isn't any easier for the father's either. Ginny's dad told me that it isn't only for the first time parent, it happens every time a child comes along. Which has me worried now too."
"You mean. You two again?"
"Yeah, three months."
"well congratulations and good luck then. Guess it will make it easier for me knowing you are going through twice as much as I." Draco told Harry with a wink.
Harry gave a nervous laugh. "Git".
"Wow, no wonder I am an only child. Father was a good father, no matter how his deeds turned out, but u highly doubt he would decide to go through thus again and again."
" Yeah. World could handle more than one of you."
Harry smirked at Draco and walked away.
"Have a good night, Malfoy."
