A/N: Hi, so after playing through Kingdom Hearts 3, it got me back on the Axel fanfiction train (plus I'm out of a job due to COVID atm). This is just a series of kind of one shots as there are time skips between the chapters that have different titles from each other. So there will be chapters/story lines with multiple parts as I don't like to have my chapters any longer than six pages...Hopefully that makes sense. I also am afraid of some of the characters of being OOC as I'm not entirely familiar with them. So please be nice and review or give me advice!
Please stay safe everyone!
Melody and I had been living in our apartment in Twilight Town for some time now. I often came here to visit my brother, Dominic, as he worked as a chef in one of the best bistros in town (alongside the head chef Little Louie). The city was so beautiful that I knew that I had to move here. Mel and I had gotten an apartment in town that wasn't too far from Le Grande Bistrot. Mel had gotten a job as one of the bartenders from Nicky's recommendation. Shortly after Mel started working there, she and Nicky started dating. I had no problems with it as I loved them both and I thought they were perfect for each other.
I wanted to be a full time teacher like my parents. They were two English professors and they probably could have gotten me a job back in Radiant Gardens but I wanted to do it myself. I got a job as a teaching assistant but during the breaks I wouldn't get paid so I tried to sell my paintings on the side. I made some munny off of my art but since it was summer break, I was trying to find a steady job to get me through the summer. Mel had mentioned that I should just come and work with her and Nicky as the money was good. The only plus at working at the bistro was that I would get tips if I was a waitress or bartender. I didn't even think about what the policy was on tattoos. They had to be okay but either way I would ask when I got there. I had a full sleeve universe type tattoo that had such beautiful vibrant colors on my right arm. My left arm just had the drink me bottle from my favorite book, Alice in Wonderland, that was right before the bend in my arm. My left thigh had a watercolor sunflower and it looked like some of the color was dripping down my thighs.
So I made my mind up and decided to go fill out an application for the bistro as a waitress. When I got there, the host was staring off into space. As soon as I got there he perked up,
"Just one?" He smiled at me,
"I actually wanted to fill out an application. Can I go do that at the bar?" I asked him. He nodded as he gave me an application. I thanked him and went to go sit at the bar,
"Finally giving in?" Mel asked as she came over to me. It wasn't overly busy so I could see that she could come and talk to me
"Yeah, don't rub it in." I leaned back in the barstool as she gave me a pen,
"Well, just so you know there are a lot of hot guys who work here." Mel raised her eyebrows, "Terra is such a hottie when he's in work mode, and the bartender is even hotter." She smirked, "The bartender should be coming in later today." She added
"You do know that Terra is seeing someone, right?" I raised my eyebrows,
"Well, I'll talk you up to the bartender." She smirked,
"You do realize that I probably know him." I told her as I started to fill out the application,
"You don't." She tapped on the counter causing me to look up, "He's usually here when you're not." She smiled before she went to go help a customer.
I was humming to myself as I was filling out the rest of the application. There was no sign of Terra so he was probably going to be coming in later. I looked back up at Mel as she was smiling as she was talking to the customer. Melody was always so good with people, and making drinks so obviously this was the perfect job for her. I considered myself to be good with people but there was something about Melody that made you want to be her friend.
"Are you coming to game night or are you going to sit at home?" Mel joked,
"Of course. The usual crowd going?" I asked her,
"For the most part." She walked over, "Terra, Aqua and Ven, won't be joining us because they can't make it for whatever reason." Mel rolled her eyes
"I'll pick up some snacks and drinks after I'm done filling this out." I looked back down at the application,
"You don't want to keep me company for the rest of my shift?" Mel asked, I could tell she was pouting
"I'd rather go home and figure out what I'm going to wear." I told her flatly,
"Well you should at least stay and see the bartender." She spoke before going off again.
As I was finishing up my application, I could feel that someone was standing in front of me,
"You afraid that I'm not gonna hand this in, Mel?" I asked before I looked up to see that it wasn't Mel. The guy standing in front of me was tall, had the most beautiful green eyes, and the brightest red hair I had ever seen in a man bun (probably no longer that his shoulders by the bun size). This was probably the bartender Mel was telling me about and she was right that I didn't know him, "Sorry, I thought you were Mel." I pointed to her
"Sorry to disappoint." He smiled. God damn that smile
"Well you are better looking than her so it's not too disappointing." I flirted, "I'm Alice." I introduced,
"Axel, got it memorized?" he asked as he tapped his temple. "So are you going to be working here?" he asked as he gestured to the application,
"Hopefully as a waitress." I looked over to see Mel watching us
"Well, I hope you get the job." He smiled before going to help a customer. Mel had casually made her way over and I could just tell what she was thinking.
"Later." I told her as I stood up to see that Terra was just coming in
"Hey Alice." He greeted, "What can I do for you?" He asked me
"Well I wanted to see if I could get a job as a waitress." I handed him the application.
"Have you ever waitressed before?" He asked,
"Once and that was ages ago." I told him truthfully
"Okay." he nodded before looking up at me, "You're hired but only because I have faith in you." He shook his hand,
"And because two of my references already work here?" I asked him. I watched him chuckle,
"I'll need you to fill out and send some paperwork in." He gestured me to follow him to the office
"Can I send the paperwork in with Nicky or Mel tomorrow?" I asked him,
"Yeah. I'll give you a call when it gets processed." He smiled.
"Also, tattoos aren't going to be a problem, right?" I asked him. He shook his head yes as he got the paperwork that I needed to sign.
