A/N: Remember that vampire Ana/Christian story I said I was going to write? Well, this is it. LOL please remember to be kind, as this is my first time crossing over into vampire territory for the FSOG world.
Summary: Ana was a librarian. Her life was boring but safe. She longed for more but didn't see how she'd ever get it. That was until Christian came along.
You all ready?
All mistakes are my own.
"Have a good night, Ana!"
"Thank you, I will," I said to my co-worker and book lover extraordinaire Jose. Closing the library doors, I smiled into the fresh night air. I absolutely loved the city, but especially at night. It was as if the world was taking a relaxing breath from the busyness of the world. I knew it sounded silly, but I felt the happiness in the night air.
You've been reading too many Christine Feehan books.
Quickly crossing the street I hummed one of my favorite songs while trying to make my usual bus. It was a typically boring day, but I knew that tomorrow would be hectic. We had several companies coming through to tour our small library. I was excited because we would finally have the money to buy more books for the children, and the youth section of their library. People were always writing off libraries. Especially with the new technology and the accessibility of e-books. I didn't blame everyone. I myself had tons of books via Kindle, but I still loved the excitement of walking into a library and browsing the countless books available to be read. It was what saved me when I was young, and it became my sanctuary when I became older. Crossing the street I shouted when I saw the bus passing me by.
"Wait!"
I waved my hand at the bus driver but he either didn't see me or was pretending to not notice. Sighing, I ran a hand over my face before glancing at my watch. That was the last bus for the next hour. I didn't want to wait around, so I opted to take a shortcut. Hopefully, I would be able to catch the bus on the opposite side of the block.
Glancing around the empty street I saw the alleyway up ahead. Picking up my pace, I looked around, not wanting to draw attention to herself. When I was in the middle of the alley, I heard a door slam behind me.
Who are they?
The two men staring at me, and it made me nervous. I frowned but turned back around and if possible moved faster. When I turned around and saw that they'd gotten even closer I knew I had to speed up even more.
Come on Ana, almost there.
Deciding break out into a jog I knew the faster I was out of the alley the better. When I turned again I was surprised to see them running in my direction. Giving up all pretense I screamed before breaking out into a full run. Just as I thought I was about to elude the two men, one grabbed me causing me to fall against the brick wall.
"Not so fast there," the tall one said before running his finger over my cheek. I pulled away before holding my hands up.
"I don't want any trouble. If it's money you want, take it." The man standing beside the one holding me against the wall chuckled.
"Now why would we want money? We want something else you can offer," he said before revealing yellow stained teeth. I quickly understood what they meant and shook my head.
No! You'll never take that from me.
Thinking fast I kneed the one holding me in the groin before taking off in an open sprint. I heard them shouting at one another but I didn't stick around.
"Don't just stand there, grab her!" The man's directive shout to his partner made me pick up speed. I had never been in this alley, so I had no clue where I was going, but I knew anything was better than being with either of those creeps. I could hear footsteps pounding behind me, but I refused to turn around. I wasn't going to be another victim. After I made a sharp right, I almost fainted at seeing the main street and several cars past. Before I could draw attention to myself, I was yanked back and slammed into another dark section. My body was shaking from the burst of energy I used and the sinister man hovering over me.
"Where are you running off too?" the man said before licking my cheek.
"Stop!" I shouted, trying to get him away from me. Thinking fast, I shoved him back satisfied when he grunted and let me go.
"You shouldn't have done that," the man grunted at me before he slapped me hard. Covering my face I screamed before trying to run around him. I was frustrated that he caught me so easily before shoving me back against the wall. I couldn't stop my head from hitting the hard surface and whimpered when I felt dizzy. I was unable to stop myself from falling to my knees, the pain that excruciating. I heard the man's chuckle before he pushed me to the ground and rolled me on my back.
"No. Please stop," I said tiredly. I was hoping to appeal to his good sense, but I knew it was no use.
"Shut up! This is for all the trouble you've put me through," he murmured. He began unbuttoning my shirt and must've liked what he saw if his howl of pleasure was any indication. I refused to stay still moving, and shouting even though my head was ringing. I wasn't going to lay down and take anything.
Until he pulled his blade and held it against my throat.
"Now. Be still. I would hate to cut up that pretty face of yours." I felt tears welling in my eyes as I gave a slight nod. I closed my eyes when I felt his breath hovering over my chest. I wanted so badly for this to be a nightmare, but the way he rutted against me let me know that it wasn't something I could wake up from. Just as he was about to lower his mouth on my skin, I felt air and a sudden lightness. The man that was on me before was no longer there. Clutching my head I rolled to my side and squinted up ahead. I saw two figures. One was taller than my now cowering attacker. I couldn't see much else, and the pain in my head, along with the adrenaline pumping through my veins must've caught up with me because I tried standing, before falling back down and passing out.
This is a test run chapter. Your response will let me know whether or not I should continue.
