Dear Rosie,
Happy birthday! I can't believe you've already grown so much. How are you so old? I will never forget the day you were born- it was probably the best day of my life. When I heard you cry for the first time, it made me cry, too, because I could not believe how much I already loved this little girl who I had barely even met. The first time I held you, your pretty blue eyes stared right at me, and I knew in that moment that you were going to be a smart, smart girl- and you are. Even as smart as I know you are, you constantly amaze me with how much you can do. When I was holding you for the first time and crying about how little and perfect you were, I looked over at your daddy, and he was crying, too. He loved you so, so much, from the second he laid eyes on you, and all I could think about was how lucky you were to have such a great daddy who loves you with all of his heart. I know how much you love Daddy, and it makes me so happy to see you two together! I have enjoyed every second of watching you grow up, Rosie. You were the happiest, most precious little baby in the whole world. You were always smiling and laughing, and you especially loved spending time with your daddy, just like you do now. As you got older, you really started to develop your personality, and I love every single part of it. I love how smart you are and how you always want to learn more about everything. I love how funny and sassy you can be, and how you make me laugh every single day. I love how much of a Daddy's girl you are, and I love how you are kind and loyal and compassionate and everything I could ever hope you would be. You truly are such a light in my life, Rosie, I don't know what I would do without you. When you were two, your little brother was born, and I know it was a little hard for you to adjust to having to share me and Daddy with another person, but you really have done a great job of being such a good big sister. I love how much you love your brother, even though you two fight to no end sometimes. I know you will always stand up for him and be there to teach him about all of the stuff you already know. I wish you could stay little forever, Rosie, but I also am so excited to get to see you grow into the beautiful, smart, compassionate young lady I already know you will be. I love you more than you will ever know. You mean so, so much to me and to your daddy, and more than anything, I hope you always remember that. Happy birthday, Rosie! You're going to change the world one day- you've already changed mine.
All my love, Mommy
