So um... I have a lot of feelings about the finale, because it was absolutely brilliant, but this is an idea i had a couple of weeks ago when fragments came out. Enjoy!

I don't own Steven Universe, and for once, I don't wish I did because no one could make it better than Rebecca Sugar and the Crewniverse.

Steven Universe – more dangerous than you might think. Hero or villain?

Hello fellow beach city citizens and others that have chosen to follow the path of the weird!

You may know that keep beach city weird has been on a hiatus for a while now, due to the lack of anything particularly weird, or rather, the redefining of the word itself. I have to say, I WAS RIGHT! I was right about everything goddammit! The diamond authority, real. Rock people, real. Everything. I always knew that Steven Universe had something to do with it.

Anyway, regardless of my previous brilliant deductions, I have recently been dealing with a lot of personal issues that have kept me away from my true passions. Even the ongoing argument about dubs or subs has not been enough to light the fire again. Nothing can when you're forced to fry fries all day and every day. I hate being an adult.

However, my interest was sparked the other day when I went out for my daily exercise that dad insists I do. I was walking through the forest near little homeworld and everything was perfectly normal.

Then something weird happened!

It was a crash, nothing too big, but enough for me to notice. I followed the sound and ran over, fearing that someone was getting hurt. You will never guess what was going on.

Unsurprisingly, it was Steven Universe. Surprisingly, he was pink. Now, as you probably know, humans are not pink, and Steven is no exception to this rule. But apparently, he is because he was bright pink and glowing and looking rather buff if I say so myself. And he was fighting.

There was this gem – the one that no one really knows about, who the others warn us humans away from – throwing punches and laughing. She slammed him to the ground, and I must confess, my inner anime fan was going slightly mad at that moment. She taunted him, asking if he was weak, and oh my god, he got mad. He got so mad it's untrue. Like, destroying half the forest mad. He got up and there was this smile on his face, like he was so genuinely terrifying at this point, and those who know me know I'm not easily scared.

God.

He went mental. It was like they were flying, and everything was pink. The next thing I knew, Steven was up in the sky – since when could he fly and why didn't he tell me – and he made this ginormous pink shield thing with spikes and… oh my god. He was completely out of control. Even as I'm writing this down now, I still don't get what the hell happened. The shield thing was sent down to where the gem was trapped with an expression of pure terror on her face.

There was a crash and I definitely didn't get knocked over. I ran over to the scene while Steven was still up in the sky (because why the hell not?) and… well… you all remember those classes we had on gem kind. There were pieces, shards of gem lying there in amongst the rubble. They had no light, no reflection. They looked dead. They were dead.

Steven Universe is a shatterer.

I quickly fled the scene, because who knows what Steven would do to me if he found me there. He'd already murdered the gem, why not me too.

I know this comes as a surprise to many of you, especially those who know him. I know that I never thought Steven would go this far.

So, I now ask the question, is Steven Universe the hero we all thought he was. Has the cute little boy completely gone? Is he really so different from his tyrannical gem dictator relatives? If he can commit murder, what else can he do?

Keep beach city weird.

SadieMiller: What the hell, Ronaldo?

Ronaldo clicked save and closed his laptop with a flourish. He'd posted the article only five minutes ago and the comments section was already exploding. Some were people like Jenny or Buck who were questioning his sanity and others were from people who had no idea what a gem was or who he was talking about but thought it made for a good story.

He still wasn't entirely sure what he witnessed. He had been lying slightly when he said he vacated the area afterwards. He had stuck around long enough to see Steven descend to the ground and look around, calling the gem's name. Ronaldo saw his panic when there was no answer and witnessed the boy running over to the crater he had made. Steven sunk to his knees when he saw the shards in the ground, and Ronaldo heard him mumbling to himself, repeating "No!" over and over. "Jasper, please. Jasper!"

That was when Ronaldo left, his own knees threatening to buckle beneath him all the way home. When he got back to the fry shop, he ignored his dad and brother's calls as he slammed the door to his room shut and slumped on the bed.

Holy shit.

Writing Ronaldo was interesting and certainly a challenge, but oh boy that was fun to write. Hope you liked it.
