Sirius slowly crept out of the bush to better see his godson,
Harry. His godson was sitting on a swing set across the street with his trunk
next to him. Sirius wanted so badly to go over and talk to Harry and explain everything,
get him away from those muggles. Such sadness and love had built up over the
years in his heart. All of a sudden, he sensed a sudden danger. He didn't know
what the danger was except that it was dark. Since he was in his Animagus form,
he couldn't speak, so he growled instead. That alarmed Harry. Harry who
stumbled down to the ground and threw out his wand hand. It somehow summoned
The Knight Bus.
The Knight Bus appeared, and before Harry could stand and
straighten his glasses, Sirius had run away. He couldn't get caught out in the
open right now. For he had just escaped Azkaban Prison. He had been
falsely accused of murdering James and Lily Potter. He had to find a somewhat
safe place to lay low and get some money to eat and some for food and clothes.
He knew the only place he would be able to do that without raising too many
alarms or questions would be Knockturn Alley.
It was about a 32 mile run from Little Whinging to London, a
tiring run to be sure. When he got to The Leaky Cauldron, he snuck thought the
pub unnoticed and popped into the back alley where the portal was. Sirius
quickly transformed into his human form to tap the bricks. Once the bricks were
activated, he quickly transformed back into his dog form so that no one would
notice it was him. He took off again and headed to Knockturn Alley which was on
the far side of Diagon Alley. Luckily, he knew someone at the betting
house that could help him and was loyal to the Black family.
He had just made the turn from Diagon Alley to Knockturn Alley
and when a sudden chill in the air hit him and ran down his canine spine.
It was dark and damp and you could feel the d dark magic looming into the air
menacingly. Definitely not one of Sirius' favorite places to be. But
unfortunately, desperate times call for desperate measures. He headed to the
back door of the Betting house and scratched at the door. His friend, Boris
Greystone was the bouncer and opened the door. Boris was bald-headed, 6
-foot 6 -inches, and 300 plus pounds of solid Russian muscle with wide
shoulders and a barrel chest.
"Mr. Black? Is that you? Please come in, sir!" Boris quickly
ushered Sirius into a small room.
By the time Sirius had transformed back into a human and Boris had
a black velvet robe ready for him to wrap up in.
"Thank you, my friend. I am in need of some help. As you may have
heard, I've escaped from Azkaban and now I need to journey to Hogwarts. But
before I can make the trip, I need supplies: a wand, clothes, the usual.
A place to rest and something to eat wouldn't be amiss either. Could you help
me?" Sirius asked.
"Of course, Mr. Black. Your family has always taken care of Boris,
so I will take care of you, sir.", Boris humbly said.
Boris escorted Sirius up to a room on the second floor of the Betting
house. The first floor held all the gambling games and such. The second floor
had rooms for rent; the third floor was well off-limits unless granted access.
Boris knew that Sirius didn't want anything lavish, in fact, he wanted the
opposite, so he gave him the tiniest room available.
"Thank you, Boris. This is perfect. Now, Boris, I need a small loan
of 250 Galleons so I can get my feet on the floor." Sirius instructed.
"Yes, sir, I will be right back with that and some fresh clothes,"
Boris bowed and left hurriedly.
Sirius was going to have to revert back to some of his old habits
to make a bit of headway and get a secret passage to Hogsmeade. The nightlife
seemed to be a bit livelier than he remembered, given the noise below. Sirius
slightly chuckled, almost surprised at the sound because in the muggle world
all that ruckus would definitely be breaking curfew for the London noise
ordinance. It definitely was not like the London Underground scene at all. It
was way past midnight.
Now, he had to get a game plan in his head. Who did he have to
talk to for could he reach out to in order to get passage? He sat in a chair
next to a very small fireplace and scratched his head pondering. A knock at the
door startled him.
"Mr. Black, it's me, Boris," Boris whispered.
"Come in, Boris," Sirius said.
Boris entered and walked over to Sirius. He handed Sirius a neatly
folded stack of gentleman's clothing and a clean pair of boots. He then took
out a medium-sized pouch and set it on the small table next to Sirius.
"Anything else for you, sir?" Boris asked.
"Yes, to whom would I inquire about the passage to Hogsmeade
undetected?" Sirius asked.
"Sir, there be only one person who can still get you passage like
that around here. Morgana Nightshade is her name." Boris stated.
"Did you say Morgana Nightshade? Shit! Why of all my rotten luck
does it have to be her?" Sirius moaned in shock.
"Sorry, sir, Boris is confused."
"She is a VERY old flame of mine. I used to pay her to have
illicit affairs. I was going through hard times while she was a good bed
companion. I stopped seeing her abruptly when I got engaged to Marlene
McKinnon, and well, I am sure that didn't go over well with Morgana. Ok, let's
get this over with. Go summon her here, please," Sirius said with only a
slightly panicked edge to his voice.
"Very well, sir," Boris said and left again.
As soon as the door closed, Sirius started pacing the length of
the tiny room. "Ok, maybe she has forgotten who I am. Maybe everything will be
cool. Oh man, what if she comes in raging with curses? I don't have a wand to
defend myself. Shit! Why her?" He unconsciously turned back into his dog form
and hid in a corner whimpering. After what seemed like forever in dog minutes
of hyperventilation, Sirius managed to calm himself enough to transform back to
human form and put his clothes back on. He was dripping with sweat from his
panic attack.
Morgana was a dark beautiful dark siren of a witch. She was 5 foot
2 inches with a beautiful hourglass curve -shaped body. Dark and silky, her
raven straight hair that had gone past her shoulders when Sirius knew her. Her
lips were voluptuous and such a joy to kiss. What had pulled Sirius into her
was her brilliant eyes. She had hazel-colored eyes of hazel color, but she was
part –empath, so they shone with emotion and sucked one in. she spoke mostly
with emotion. She knew exactly how to seduce him with just one look, and it
killed him to remember that.
A soft knock came to the door. "Sirius?"
He went and cautiously opened the door a crack and to peep out.
There stood Morgana and Boris. Sirius opened the door the remainder of the way
to let Morgana in. Even veiled by a hood, he could tell that she was just as
striking as he remembered. "Uh, thank you, Boris. That will be all for now, my
friend," Sirius stated distractedly.
Boris nodded and left closing the door behind him.
"Hello, Morgana," Sirius said.
Morgana lowered her cape hood, raised her hand, and slapped Sirius
across the face. "You left me without even a goodbye or why you were leaving,
you bastard!. You broke my heart. You knew I had feelings for you. How could
you?"
"Morgana, I am sorry. I did warn you that I would someday move on
with my life and I didn't know when that would be. Can we please resolve this
bit later? I need your help right now. I need to get to my godson Harry, to
help save him and Lupin. They're in danger. I need passage to Hogsmeade
undetected. Can you help me?", Sirius pleaded.
"Oh, you need my help now? This is gonna cost you big time Sirius,
and don't think you are off the hook about you leaving me without notice. You
are in the doghouse majorly for that. I can get you a passage in a fortnight from
here to Hogsmeade. Are you gonna need lodging as well 'cause I can get that
arranged too," Morgana informed the man, her eyes biting.
"If at all possible, yes, please. I need it to be as invisible and
discreet as you can make it. A ghost if you will.", Sirius responded
"Yes, I can arrange everything for you. It will cost you dearly
though. The price for passage and room will be 180 Galleons. Taking up my time and
services will cost you taking me out to dinner at least." Morgana purred.
"Ok fair deal. Here are 200 Galleons, 180 for the passage and
room, and 20 for you to spend on whatever. As far as dinner goes, would you
settle for room service here and my company?" Sirius offered.
"Yes, that will do, my puppy.", Morgana slowly closed in on Sirius
and started to stroke his hair.
Sirius impulsively grabbed her waist with both hands and lifted
her up, turning and sitting her in the chair.
"What the HELL, Sirius?" Morgana raged.
"Sorry, my heart is still mourning Marlene, and I really don't
feel like fooling around right now. I need my mind to stay on track with Harry
and Lupin. No offense, but you are a seductive woman. Now if you don't mind, I
will let Boris know to fetch us some supper," Sirius stated in a rattled voice
as he stood.
"Don't bother, I am not gonna stay. I will get you passage and a
room but don't ever come back unless you want me for me. Got it?" Morgana
stood in a huff and left the room.
Boris peeked in and asked, "Sir, is everything ok? The nice lady
seemed mad."
"No, no, everything is alright, Boris. Would you send up some
supper for me? I'm starving. Please make sure that it is a good and hearty
thick meal."
"Yes, sir," Boris nodded, turned, and closed the door.
"Damn, why does she have to be like that? If things were different
yeah, I would have bedded her, but right now I can't. Why couldn't she
understand that and have to be so damn stubborn! GRRRR!" Sirius growled.
He sat in his chair to await his supper, but most of this mind was
on the wait. More importantly, he now had to wait a fortnight before he could
get to his godson and Lupin. Would he succumb to Morgana's siren tendencies, or
would he hold steadfast and true? This was all stirring in his mind and making
him crazy with worry. He needed to stay focused. He didn't know how he was
going to deal with the next two weeks.
