A/N I know we do not know a whole lot about Vinny so I took what we did find out on the show and worked it into the story. I hope you enjoy this. Thank you!

Steffy Forrester walked into the cliff house with a deep sigh. It had been quite a wedding to say the least. She tossed her pursed on the table when her companion walked in. "Hey" said Vinny. "You okay?"

"Yeah I am." Steffy replied. "Thanks for the ride home. And for dropping Kelly off with Kristen and Tony. I know they have been wanting to spend some time with their niece since they moved back from Florida."

"No problem." Vinny smiled. 'She's quite a doll your little girl."

"Thank you." Steffy said as she sat down smoothing out her silver white gown.

"You sure you are okay?" Vinny inquired sitting next to her. "You seemed pretty quiet at the wedding."

"It's not easy." Steffy said. "No I am not still in love with Liam. He belongs with Hope I know that. I get it. It took me too long to figure out but I accept that is how it is. He is the father of Kelly and it is a little difficult to see him marry Hope but trust me I am happy they are married. It was a beautiful wedding. Hope looked gorgeous. The gown Sally designed was amazing. Beth was so cute and so was Douglas."

"I am sensing there is more." Vinny pressed.

"There isn't."

"Yes there is." He said. "You want all that too."

"I did but…"

"But nothing." Vinny said. "You want what Liam and Hope have. You want a husband, a family. Admit it."

Steffy managed a smile. "Okay fine yes I do but I do a lousy job of trying to get it."

"You mean by taking other women's men?" Vinny said with a laugh.

"Very funny." Steffy said. "But you are right. I have done that. I have tried to take another woman's man. I tried taking Oliver, I tried taking Owen, I tried taking Bill, I tried taking Liam. I don't know what was wrong with me. Why did I feel I had to do that?"

"I'm no expert." Vinny began. "But I do know a little bit about the fued between your mother and Brooke."

"The twenty five year fued." Steffy laughed. "Yeah that was something."

"I think perhaps it effected you in someway."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you saw Brooke as the one who stole your father from your mother, am I right?" He asked. "That's how you saw it or that is how you were brought up to see it?"

"Maybe a little of both." Steffy conceded. "What kid doesn't want their parents together?"

"I get it but from what I understand, Brooke was with your father before your mother came along. It would appear to me that your mother took your father from Brooke. Am I wrong?" Vinny asked. "Cause I could be wrong…"

"No." Steffy said shaking her had. "You aren't. She did take my father from Brooke. There is no point in denying it. I love my mother. I do. She's always been there for me without question but she's not perfect. She stole another man. And I have too. And I feel awful about it."

"I know." Vinny said. "But unlike Brooke and your mother, you and Hope were able to work through it. You were maid of honor at her wedding. She loves you, you know that."

"I do." Steffy nodded. "And you know what. I love her too. It look me too long to admit it. I never wanted to. I was too busy seeing her as the enemy. She was never the enemy. After the things I did to her, she still….she is sweet and I am glad she is my stepsister. I lost Phoebe, my twin. But I gained Hope. I wish I wasn't so stupid and blind all this time."

"You mean by locking her in the gondola in Aspen?"

Steffy looked at Vinny. "You know about that?"

"Yeah Thomas told me about it. It was rotten no question but I have to admit pretty clever at the same time." He said with a smile.

"Thank you I think." Steffy laughed. "What about you? You ever do anything you regret?"

"Lots of things." Vinny said. "Like my career choice three years ago. I am not proud of it at all."

"What was it?" Steffy asked.

"I probably shouldn't tell you. You will want to throw me out." He said.

"Come on it couldn't have been that bad." Steffy pressed. "What was it?"

"It was that bad. I…got into…the drug game." He said.

"You…you dealt drugs?" She asked astonished.

"Not a big time dealer." Vinny explained. "My mother, she works for a pharmaceutical company, I was able to get a hold of some stuff. I sold it. I am not proud of it by any stretch. I told myself that it wasn't a big deal, I had to make money somehow…but I couldn't do it anymore. I knew it was wrong so I stopped. I got out of it."

"Wow." Steffy said. "How did you even get wrapped up in that?"

"My father was always tough on me." Vinny explained. "He was not physically abusive, he never hit me ever. Not once. But he was tough. I know that parents will push their kids to be the best they can but my father….he pushed hard. What I wanted to do in life, he said wasn't good enough and I couldn't get far with it. So I left home. I didn't have any money I didn't know how to make money. I met some people who were pretty shady and next thing I know I am selling pills to some real low lifes"

"But you got out of it."

"I did." Vinny nodded. "I couldn't do that anymore. It was just…wrong. I can't live with myself knowing that I provided something that ruined a person's life. I can't. So I took some other various jobs to make my rent. Right now I work in a mechanic shop. It's not my favorite thing but it beats selling."

"Tell me." Steffy said. "What were some of the other jobs you had?"

"I worked a diner, a grocery store, I did some modeling…"

"Modeling?" Steffy asked intrigued. "What kind of modeling?"

"Just some local magazine." He said. "Nothing big."

"You know we are always looking for models at Forrester…"

Vinny laughed. "No that's okay. I don't think I'm cut out for that."

"But I bet you would be good…"

"I appreciate it." He said. "But no. I was never into modeling to be honest. I did it cause I needed the money."

"Well what do you like? What is it that you wanted to do?"

Vinny stood up and paced at bit. "You are probably going to laugh."

"No I'm not. What is it?"

"Music." He said. "I love music."

"Really? What kind of music?"

"All kinds really." Vinny said. "I learned guitar when I was a kid. I love to play."

"Is this what your father told you was a waste of time?"

"Yes." Vinny said. "But I never really thought that and I wanted to prove him wrong but.."

"But what?"

"I tried sending tapes out to record companies, played a few low key gigs and I have gotten nothing but rejection. I felt like I proved my father right." He said. "Like maybe I wasted my time and I should have listened to him."

"No." Steffy said standing up. "Look I know this is probably cliché but everyone gets rejected. Everyone is told no they aren't good."

"Have you?" Vinny asked.

"Yes. I have. I once created a whole line at Forrester called Intimates. I was so sure of myself with the line. I thought it was amazing but no it wasn't. People did not like it. Thought it was too much. It hurt a great deal. And I will be honest I didn't take it well." Steffy said. "I was a brat about it. I could have worked to make it better but I was too stubborn. So yes I know what it is like. Vinny I think you should try again. Don't do what I did. Keep pressing. Figure out what these record people are not liking and fix it.T ry to improve. That's what I should have done with my line."

"I guess we have that in common." Vinny smiled. "We are terrible at handling rejection."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I told off a few record people. I see now how dumb that was but I couldn't help it." He said. "I felt they were too harsh and incredibly wrong."

"I know the feeling." Steffy said. "But you have to swallow your pride sometimes."

Vinny walked over to her. "You know you are an amazing woman Steffy Forrester."

"I am?"

"Yes you are. You made mistakes, you realized you were in the wrong and you owned up to it. You regret choices you made and you are willing to not make those same choices again. I admire that." He said. "You really have grown up and learned."

"Well I can't say it happened overnight. I recall when we found out Beth was Phoebe. I was upset as you can imagine."

"Of course." Vinny said. "Who wouldn't be? I'm sure Hope understood."

"She did." Steffy said. "But…I was awful. I..said something to her so horrible I don't know how I could have said it."

"What was that?"

"I told her she could be kind of a mother to Beth." Steffy replied. "Pretty awful of me wasn't it."

"Yeah I would say so." Vinny agreed. "But you said you were upset and were probably confused. You didn't know what you saying. I mean this little baby you were taking care of and loving belonged to Hope and you didn't know that. Now she comes to take the baby because it is hers."

"Yeah but she had the right to." Steffy said. "I would have done the same thing. If someone told me my baby died and I found out it wasn't true, yeah I would come claim my baby. Hope and Liam were so understanding. They never cut me out of Beth's life. I am grateful for that. And what I did with Thomas. Scheming with him by kissing Liam. That was so stupid."

"It was I agree but Steffy you came clean with Hope. You told the truth. I think that is admirable. You could have let Thomas just get away with it but you didn't. You knew it was wrong and you helped stop it." Vinny said. "I think that took courage."

"Courage?" asked Steffy.

"Thomas is your brother. You love him right?"

"Of course."

"It could not have been easy to go against him like that but you knew it was the right thing to do. I admire that."

"Thank you. You know you were pretty good yourself. Standing up for Douglas like you did. Telling Thomas not to put his son on the spot like that. You knew Thomas was wrong as well."

"I did." Vinny said. "I wish I could have stopped him sooner. I tried to talk sense into him but he wouldn't' listen to me."

Steffy smiled. "You know you have a good heart Vinny. I know it couldn't have been easy letting my brother who can be a real pain in the ass to sleep on your couch."

Vinny laughed. "No it wasn't easy." He said. "I have to admit I wanted to throw him out numerous times."

"Well I think Thomas is lucky to have a friend like you. Yes maybe you have a shady past but you aren't a bad person. You do care about others." Steffy said.

"You have a good heart too Miss Steffy Forrester even though I'm sure it kills you to show it." He joked.

Steffy laughed. "Okay maybe. But I'm trying. Anyway let's talk about something else. This music you do. Have you written any songs of your own?

"Yes I have but I will be honest, I think the record people were right. They were just not quite right."

"Well maybe you should go back and work on them. Get them right. I did with my line and it worked out. Maybe it will for you too. Vinny if you love music you should go for it. "

"I will." He said. "I promise."

"Just curious you have any favorite artists?" She asked. "Anyone whose songs you like to play?"

"Keith Urban." He said. "I love his style of music and song writing. In fact, there is one particular song that I love the most…" He walked over to the stereo and found a CD. "I see you are a fan too."

Steffy grinned. "Yes I admit I adore Keith Urban. He is amazing."

Vinny put on the CD and walked back over to Steffy. "Mind if I have this dance?"

"Not at all." She said.

The beautiful lyrics of the song Blue Ain't Your Color filled the room. "I can see you sitting over there staring at your drink watching that ice sink all alone tonight and chances are you're sittin' here in this bar cause he ain't gonna treat you right…"

The two gazed upon one other as the song continued. "Blue looks good on a the sky, looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall but darling it don't match your eyes…"

Vinny pulled Steffy in closer and slowly brought his lips to hers in a soft kiss. He let go and Steffy said nothing staring back at him. He then kissed her once more with more intensity. Steffy wrapped her arms around him they kiss grew more and more passionate. They made their way over to the sofa and fell back on it.

Steffy felt as if her whole body was going to explode. She never felt the things she was feeling at that very moment. "Vinny…" She said softly as he kissed her neck. "Vinny…"

His hands explored her body as he lips then devoured hers. The heat was increasing and Steffy could no longer hold it back. "Vinny." She said he looked upon her. "Vinny…I…make love to me."

"Steffy…we…"

"Please.." Steffy said. "I want you….Make love to me…."

Before he could say anything Steffy pushed his black jacket off and threw off the black die. His shirt was ripped open and the two resumed their passion again. Steffy's dress was peeled off and found its way to the floor. It wasn't long before Vinny picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. He set her down on the bed and they held eachother in the moonlight shining through the window.
