Author Note: I don't own any of the Girl Meets World Characters, I only own Olivia, Erin, and Kevin. Goal is to upload a chapter every couple days or so. Some will be longer than others but no idea on how long the whole story is going to be yet, guess we'll see what you all have to say:)

"New tenants?" Cory asked his wife Topanga as they carried groceries up the stairs to their apartment.

Topanga fished the key out of her pocket as her husband juggled the bag she handed him, "Apparently. If we're lucky, they could be new neighbors! The place next to us has been empty for a few weeks now," Topanga nudged the door open with her foot as she managed to get the key in the lock, "RILEY! HELP PLEASE!" she shouted as the door swung open.

Matthew's 14 year old daughter came bounding into the living room and grabbed a bag, "Did you see there is a new family moving in? It looks like they have a girl my age!" Riley squealed as she put the grocery bag down.

"Another girl?" Auggie, Riley's little brother groaned as he sat up on the couch.

"Sorry, Aug but looks like we'll be outnumbered again," Cory joked as he rubbed his young son's head.

"Can I go meet them? Please, please, please?" Riley begged.

"Let them get settled first, kiddo. Besides, we don't even know where their apartment is going to be," Topanga kissed the top of Riley's head as she pulled out food for lunch, "Cory, can you go grab the last of the bags?"

Cory nodded and headed out the door. As he opened the door to the stairs he almost collided with a raven haired girl who looked about Riley's age, "Whoa, let me get that for you," Cory held the door open as she slipped through.

"Sorry, sir. Thank you," she said politely. He was about to respond but before he could say anything she was already stepping into the door next to his place.

"Good news, Riley. That family you saw? They are officially our next door neighbor. I ran into the girl I'm thinking you saw and she was going into the place next door."

"Seriously? YAY!" Riley screamed, "I gotta tell Maya. She's gonna LOVE this!"

"For the last time, move that stupid box!" Erin yelled at her daughter.

"Sorry, mom," Olivia grabbed the box and moved it quickly. She slid it into her room against the wall and shut the door. New place, same crap. She let herself slide down the wall blocking the door in case her mom tried to come in.

She rested her head against the door and closed her eyes, "It always gets a little better, it always gets a little better," she whispered to herself. The move was always the hardest but after a few days her mom usually mellowed out but Olivia had a feeling that this time would be different and she was dreading it.

A quiet knocking at her door made her jump up and started to open it, "Sorry, I was-" she stopped when saw it was her mom's boyfriend, Kevin, "oh, hey."

"Hey, Livvy. Mind if I come in?" Olivia opened the door wider, inviting him in. He sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to him, "How ya holdin up, kid?"

Olivia shrugged, "Fine. You know how she is."

"I do and I've seen how you are. You're a strong kid, Liv. You just need to learn to stand up for yourself."

"You know I can't do that. You -know- how she reacts to anyone questioning her."

Kevin gave her a small smile, "You're right, I do know."

"So why are you sticking around? Most guys bail the second they see her…," Olivia trailed off, letting Kevin figure out what she meant, "Well, you know."

"It's complicated, Liv. Your mom, she's had a hard life. I want to stick around as long as she'll keep me. Plus, she has a pretty great kid that I can't seem to shake," he teased as Olivia leaned her head against him.

"Yeah well, Jacob said the same thing and yet 6 months later he was gone," Olivia said as she stood up, "You should go, she's going to get upset if you take too long and I'd rather not deal with that tonight."

"Liv…", Kevin reached for her hand.

Olivia took another step back, "Please, don't."

"KEVIN, WHERE ARE YOU?"

"We'll talk more later, Liv."
