"Lyonsbane"

I stared down at the city of judgement, its very aura plain and colourless. Even the wall that surrounded the metropolis city was nothing but a grey place for the faithless. Not a terrible place nor a beautiful place, Kelemvor went down, this time however his true body (not an avatar) had truly appeared. The city of the dead shook as the lord of the dead landed in the surface of the city, his aura emitting a calming chilling feeling upon the dead and those that inhabited the city.

"Jergal" I said to the empty space beside me. In an instant the near-non-existent shadows that were present around the city gathered as winds of shadow and death formed a single figure. Jergal, the ancient former god of death stood beside me, in his hands was a book.

"Milord, is it time?" the formless figure said with its deep timeless voice.

"Yes, do you have what I've requested of you?" I replied, setting my focus into creating a lesser avatar.

Jergal did not reply only taking the iniative to present an object to me. The object was no doubt beautiful; it was a wooden staff masterfully crafted. Soon after the avatar formed, a lesser projection of my power stood in front of me, its appearance that of a young man. Its eyes were closed and its body stood still as ice, I grabbed the staff, changing its mass and properties to resemble that of an object not native to this, an object better known as a flip phone.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." The absurdity of this act making me rubbing my head, of all the tasks that I had done this one was the most insane. Jergal seemed more amused than annoyed however, as a small laugh echoed throughout the dull city.

"You know milord, I never understood your reluctance to open with the subject of your old world. Especially with such an interesting world."

"Jergal, there are things that are better left forgotten."

"Such hypocrisy Milord, especially considering what you're doing this very instant."

I laughed, the sound echoing loudly. I relax my mind as I finish the preparations, taking one last check on the area. I sigh in relief, good, one wrong move and this place would be definitely be move dead. I turn to the ancient deity, his form still nothing but a cloaked figure of shadow and death.

"It's done, Jergal." the former god nodded its non-existent head. I looked at the grey skies above, closing my eyes I transported myself and Jergal to the Cystal Spire, its brilliant infrastructure surrounded by the colour of Topaz. We stood in the very top, overlooking all.

"Jergal, are you sure you don't want to join me?" I asked with genuine curiosity, the formless figure was silent for a moment before he too turned to me.

"Kelemvor, Shut up."

"Answer the question, Jergal."

"No, there's nothing there for me."

I stayed silent, not knowing what to say. We both knew that it was true. None of us said another word for a few seconds before I felt the pull of the runes and magic as the spell commenced. I was quick to sit in my throne, as I did so, I focused on my soul, making it so that I would enter a deep slumber. I looked at the old sage, he too looked at me, and despite his formless body. He smiled and for perhaps the first time in millennia, he spoke with a voice of gentleness.

"Don't worry about me, I've long accepted my fate," he pointed his finger of shadow at me "You, however still have them, live happy and strong, Subaru-kun."

The formless body stood in front of me, yet for an instant, I saw another person, a person who once and still loved Envy. I smiled, my vision dimming as the spell continued its activation. I opened my mouth, the words coming out before I knew it.

"Thank you, I-it wa-wasn't that bad with you around, Flugel"
