HELLO! Welcome those who were waiting and those who are new, this is a sequel to my first fic, although you don't have to read the first to really get what is going to, although sometimes some details that will pop up may not really make sense so go ahead and take time to read the other fic first, jump around because it is kind of long. I doubt this one will be that long but you never know.
I do not own anything but my OCs. The turtles and everyone else are now adults, around 25-26 years old.
Enjoy!
"I'm telling you, babe. Wait, until you see this place. Its got a nice view of the water, 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, over 5,000 square feet! I sure am glad I convinced you to move to New York, you said you've been here before?"
She looked over at him after he reached out and touched her hand to get her attention, "I lived here for a while when I was younger."
"Really, you told me you've been, not that you've lived here."
Shrugging her shoulders, she looked back out the window. "I left some people here. It's not something I like to talk about very much."
He frowned, "I thought we tell each other everything…" When she didn't answer, he grabbed her hand and smiled. "Well with over 20 million people, what are the odds you'll run into anyone you know?"
She chuckled softly, "You just jinxed it."
"Yeah, probably."
Their car finally pulled up to the towering apartment building, the driver, parking and going over to her side door to open it. She thanked him. "You know Travis, you don't always have to open my door, I'm not that lazy."
"Oh yes, he does! Why else would we pay him?"
Lillian rolled her eyes, before walking over to the entrance to the Condominium building. "Did you have to get the most expensive, exaggerated, building you could find?"
"It's right next to your, grandfather. I thought you'd want to be close to him." He said with a small frown.
She smiled sweetly, "That was nice of you."
He took her hand and led her inside where the woman at the front desk greeted them. "Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Perez." She held out two cards, "Here are both your keys. Let me know if you need anything from us and we hope you enjoy your time here."
He grabbed both keys, giving one to Lillian, "Thanks, Susan. Here you go."
Lillian took the card apprehensively, raising a brow in confusion "Mrs. Perez?"
He ignored her protests and dragged her over to the elevator, "Our place is on the 47th floor. There is a roof deck that's nice but too many tourists, and a nice courtyard, I was thinking we could get a dog or something. The gym is on the 15th floor, don't know why but it is."
She stopped him, "Luis, you can't keep telling people we're married."
"Why not? We're engaged."
"It's not the same."
He waved her concern away, "Oh you're just being dramatic. Just because you don't want to tell anyone doesn't mean I do too. I want to tell the world!" He exclaimed, a giant smile playing across his lips. "Come here," He said before pulling her close to him and passionately kissing her.
She sighed, her hands grabbing his shoulders and pulling him away from her. "Luis, I'm serious."
He let out a small breath of frustration before nodding, "Okay, fine. I'll stop. But, you are going to be my wife whether you like it or not."
The elevator doors opened, Lillian shook her head before exiting. "I never said I didn't like it, I just want to tell everyone on my own time."
"Okay, I get it." He led her down a long hallway leading all the way to their front door. "Here we are." He touched his key to the lock until a 'click' was heard, he then turned the knob and pushed the door open. "Shall I carry you over the threshold?"
"No," She laughed before walking into their new place. On one side of the living room, there was a television and a little set up in front of the walk-in kitchen. In the middle of it, a dining table and off to the other side of the living room were two chairs and another couch. The windows went all around the living room from ceiling to floor, looking out at the Hudson River.
"Nice right? White oak floors, the kitchen, over there, has granite countertops, and look at that view! Unobstructed double exposure to the city and the water, look at those windows." Luis yelled. "That's not even the best part, let's head on upstairs." The banister of the stairs made out of glass while the steps were the same white oak flooring as the rest of the house. The one master bedroom was off to their right, "This can be our room, The bathroom is over by my side unless you didn't want to sleep on the side you normally sleep on." He wrapped his arms around her frame, a mischievous smile on his lips. "I was thinking we'd christen this room first before we see all the other rooms."
Lillian frowned, "You know I have to go and buy food for the party. I promised Neil I wouldn't flake on him this time."
"He won't be here for another 15 minutes. I only need 5." He whispered, kissing her chin, making his way down her neck.
"Oh, how romantic." She laughed, wrapping her arms around him.
Just before he could pull her blazer off, the doorbell rang. Lillian breathed a sigh of relief before nodding, "5 minutes too early." She kissed his forehead before making her way downstairs and to the front door.
"Hey!" She smiled, before greeting her friend, Neil, with a hug.
"Hi, babe!" He picked her up and spun her around. "I missed you! Whoa, nice place! What do you do to this man that he buys you shit like this?" He shook his head, "Don't answer."
Lillian laughed, turning around to see Luis come down the stairs. "Are you sure you don't want to come?"
"You guys are coming back here right?" He asked.
"If we're allowed," Neil answered.
Luis gave him a thumbs-up, "Then I'll just wait till you guys get back. You coming back with everyone?"
"Just Richard and Bella, they're downstairs waiting for us. Everyone else is coming on their own time." Neil explained, grabbing Lillian by her waist. "We'll be back in a few!"
"Dick is downstairs? I thought he had that thing with his family?"
Once Neil shut the door, they both sprinted off towards the elevator. "He didn't want to deal with his parents so he decided to come along."
"Awe yay! I haven't seen him in forever! Where are we heading to?" Lillian asked as the made their way down to the lobby.
"I think first we should go grab some snacks at a huge Warehouse we passed along the way and then move to the catering, we placed in an order yesterday for pick up." He explained.
"Lead the way."
"Guys, I'm leaving! Everyone give me your lists or I'm leaving without getting what you want." April yelled.
"Okay, so my list is just what we all need as a whole. I assume you're going to that Warehouse that just opened on 42nd." Leonardo said, handing her his list.
She took it and read over it, making sure nothing was missing. "They sell things in bulk so I'll be able to get more for less."
He smiled, "Great. Thanks, April."
"Uh-huh." She looked up and grabbed Donnie's list next, reading over that one. "Just one thing, D?"
He nodded, "Its just a 50 piece Mechanic Set. I would ask for the 173 piece but because it's polished chrome, it's pricy. This one is 30, so if it's not too much trouble…?" He asked slowly, hopefully.
April smiled sweetly, "Of course not. Anything for you."
Donnie clapped his hands together, "Yes! Thank you." He said in victory before leaning in to kiss her cheek. "See you when you get back?"
"Yes, you will."
"And don't bother getting the warranty on that if it even has one." He said before making his way back to his lab.
"Wasn't planning on it, anyway." Michelangelo was the next to hand her a list, giving her a handsome smile before quickly running away once she grabbed it. "Wait a minute, mister. Not so fast." She yelled before reading over his list. "Mikey, why do you need a 4 and a half-pound bag full of chocolate chips?"
Mikey shrugged, "Ahem...uh...cookies..."
"Are you actually going to make the cookies or are you just going to eat the chocolate chips and then spend the rest of the night on the toilet like you did last time I bought you something that big of a quantity?" She crossed her arms over her chest and stared like the grown sister she had come to be.
"No no no! I'm actually going to make them." Mikey stated. "I know last time I ate most of the chocolate chips."
"You ate them all."
"Uh-huh... but this time I'll make them! Remember last week I asked for flour? And then the week after that I asked for brown sugar? And then the week after that I asked for vanilla? And then the week after that I asked-"
"Okay okay!" April laughed, waving her hands for him to stop. "I believe you. I'll get you your chips but you better not eat all of them."
He smiled child-like, "I promise I won't eat them all...just some. Okay bye!" He quickly darted towards his room.
April was going to call out after him but just shook her head and decided it was not worth the fight. He was going to eat them whether she wanted him to or not. She looked around and waited for the last of the brothers but when he never showed up she just sighed, "Where's Raph?"
"He was our late last night, came in early this morning," Leo explained before pointing to his room. "He should be sleeping."
'Oh great, now I have to wake him up', April thought to herself, walking over to his room before kicking the door open. "Raphael!"
Raphael jumped a bit from his slumber before groaning, "The hell, April? Ever hear of just plain knocking?"
"I need your list, I'm going to buy groceries."
"Beer."
April scoffed, "More beer? Raph, I just bought you a 12-pack last week."
"Mikey drank most of it on Friday. Said he's never gotten drunk and he wanted to know what it felt like." He muttered sleepily, rubbing his eyes. "I only drank like 3, Casey had 4 and Mikey had the rest."
April sighed, not feeling the need to argue with a sleepy Raph. She'd never win. "Fine. But I'm cutting you down to 6. And stop staying out all night if you don't want me to wake you up at 3 o'clock in the afternoon."
"Whatever, mom."
April grunted, "And clean up this room, young man." She joked before shutting the door. "What does he do all night?" She asked Mikey as he leaned against his bedroom door just listening to both of them in amusement.
He shrugged, "He just stays out with his girlfriend."
April shook her head, "Well," she pointed at him. "Stop drinking his beer."
"Don't worry, it's too gross for me anyways," Mikey said before going into his room.
"Oh lord..." she sighed before making her way out of the lair and into the van.
"That one, and that one. Ooh, I didn't know they come in this flavor, let's get this one!" Bella giggled madly, as she threw everything she wanted in the cart.
Lillian sighed, "You know we're supposed to buy for everyone who's coming, Bell, not just for you."
Bella smiled, before sticking her tongue out at Lillian. "I know. But I have good taste in food so everyone will like it."
"What if your place is too small?" Dick asked
Neil shook his head and laughed. "Lillian's rich boyfriend bought her a 6 bedroom, 7 bathroom Condo."
"Why do you need that many bathrooms?" Bella yelled.
Lillian shook her head, "I don't know, it wasn't my idea to buy it."
"Who's name is it under?" Neil asked.
"Luis's, but I'm thinking ahead. My Dad's father lives a couple of blocks away, he never uses his condo."
"Girl, you never know what that man will do. Why are you still with him after everything?" Dick argued.
Once again with the same subject, Lillian didn't want to have. "He's changed. I can see it. It's been 5 months and he's clean and sober. His moods balanced and everything."
"That man is just surprise after surprise always keeps you on your toes." Dick playfully pushed Neil. "It would be nice if someone threw surprises for me every now and then."
Neil grabbed Lillian and whispered in her ear, "See what you do?"
Lillian laughed, "I said nothing." They continued walking down the aisle, just picking up whatever they thought looked appetizing before throwing it in the cart. "Guys, maybe we should get stuff to drink instead of all this junk."
Neil nodded, "And by something to drink, I think you mean liquor."
Lillian frowned, "I'm trying to stray away from liquor for Luis's sake."
"We can just get coke or something," Bella offered.
Picking up the pack of sodas and shoving it on to the cart, April groaned softly taking out her pen and crossing off sodas off of Leonardo's list. Thank God for Leonardo, he would always write the essentials instead of the items they didn't need. So far she had gotten the toilet paper, the cereal, the milk, the juice, the eggs, the pack of water bottles so the guys don't have to drink tap. She got the chocolate chips and other ingredients that Mikey asked for, she was still looking for the tools Donnie asked for and Raph's beer. 6-pack, not a 12.
She rode her cart right into the next aisle where the liquor was and began to look around for the specific kind of beer Raphael was found of. What was it? Some type of lager? "Damnit Raph, why didn't you write it down?" She growled to herself. "Oh, I think its…" She reached down to grab the pack of beers.
Just at the same time, someone grabbed the same pack of beer. The man smiled, "Excuse me, sorry."
"It's okay," April smiled. 'What a cutie' she thought to herself. One quick look so she could see his dark black hair, nice chiseled jaw, piercing blue eyes. He was tall and lean like he was an acrobat or something.
She watched him grab a different pack before he went over to his cart. She watched him go over to another man standing by the cart, a blonde, not as tall, slender man, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. April sighed, 'Awe, cute'. She went back to her cart and placed the beer in it.
A blonde young woman, passed her, directing the two men on where to go and what to get next. She was loud and giddy it almost annoyed April, but instead of letting the obvious group of friends get to her, she decided to instead, look at what was next on Leonardo's list.
"When is everyone going to show up?"
"Around the time you said to show up."
"Did you send everyone the address?"
"As soon as you sent it to me I sent out a group text."
"Are you worried no one will show?"
"I'm not worried."
April stopped for a moment, smiling to herself at how that voice reminded her of someone. She decided to look up from the list, only seeing the back of a stylish businesswoman, it looked like. She had a black blazer with some tight black slacks that end at her ankle, her shoes added at least five inches to her height. Her hair was a cascade of dark brown curls that ended right below her lower back. April found herself envying how the woman looked. She was dressed like she was the CEO of a company, catching the eyes of any man who walked passed her.
April began to follow the group. The more this woman talked, the more tingles she got running down her spin like it usually did when she would sense someone she knew nearby. Because her gut feeling has yet to fail her, she listened to it and decided to follow the group, pretending to look for alcoholic beverages.
"He got you the house and furniture but nothing to eat?"
"It's a condo, not a house."
"Excuse me, he got you a condo."
"I think the food was the last thing on his mind."
The blond girl stopped the cart, "Ooh, you guys already christened the place? A little quick don't you think?"
"No. We were about to but Neil stopped by."
"Does that man ever take his hands off of you?"
The woman shrugged, "Only when I tell him."
"Do you ever tell him?"
"Only when I want to."
The more the woman talked the stronger the tingle or the turning of her stomach got. April could swear she recognized that voice, that laugh!
"I swear the amount of bullshit you put up with, Lilly, is almost criminal. If I were you, I'd force him to put a ring on it."
Lilly...?
April covered her mouth to hide a gasp. It couldn't be...after so long... After no call, no letter, ever! At all! It couldn't be!
April was about to walk away when something stopped her. A mixture of conflicting emotions began to boil deep within her. She wanted to cry and hug her, but also yell at her and slap her, ask her how she was but also how could she?! And after so long, after how much they meant to each other, she never called, never checked in to say hi. Eventually, April got tired of asking Lillian's stepfather for her and receiving the same response that she just stopped asking about her and forced herself to stop hoping she was ever going to see her again. Now that she's here...
It's probably not even her.
April took a deep breath before. How many people in the world have brown hair and is named Lilly? This is probably just a coincidence. She had to continue shopping anyways.
Lillian turned the corner, "I'm too young to get married." She chuckled.
Dick stopped everybody in their tracks, "Did we get enough to drink? Just a 6-pack? I mean come on, what are we? 50-year-old mothers?"
Lilly scoffed, "That was your boyfriend. What did you guys want?" She turned around and headed back to the liquor.
"If you're buying honey, Tequila," Dick told her.
Before she could even go get the bottle, her eyes locked with the eyes of a redheaded woman who looked extremely familiar. Almost immediately, Lilly began to feel her throat tighten and her lungs burn as the air left them and nothing returned. She was stuck, frozen in her tracks, her heart either was racing so fast or not racing at all she couldn't tell. The woman stared at her, her facial expression almost just as shocked as Lillian's. Lillian reached up and clutched her chest, "April…" She whispered to herself.
April stopped moving as soon as she was caught staring. "It is you…" Once she blinked herself awake, she was able to take a better look at the person who she used to consider almost a sister. She was taller, although that might just be the result of the shoes. She was much thinner, her face slimmer than what it used to be. She seems young, but her eyes said otherwise. April stepped forward, "I didn't know if it were you are not but…"
Lillian opened her mouth to say something but she couldn't find her voice. No matter how hard she tried, nothing came out. Her eyes suddenly became very misty, "I-"
Before she could attempt to say anything, April smiled, "You look amazing! How have you been?"
"I've been…" She began, looking down at April, admiring how the girl she once knew grew into a wonderful woman. She grabbed her hands, "You look so beautiful."
"I do? Look at you! You look like a model." April said happily, internally cursing herself for not being able to yell at her. It was always impossible for her to stay mad at Lillian.
"You lost the ponytail," Lilly said, feeling a little more comfortable at the reaction. "You look so grown up."
"Yeah, I lost it a while back." April let go of Lilly's hands, taking a step back just to take her all in. "Wow, I mean… Your make up looks more amazing than I remember."
"I did get better at it." Lilly chuckled softly.
"Ahem," Both of them looked over at the entire group staring at the two of them. Neil stepped forward, "Lillian,"
Lilly blinked before nodding, "Oh yes, these are my friends. Neil, Dick and Bell."
Neil took April's hand and shook it, "Hello," while Dick and Bella just waved at April.
"Neil, this is April, we went to high school together before I moved to California."
April nodded, "It's nice to meet you all." She turned back to Lillian, "What have you been up to? When did you get back?"
Lillian swallowed, staring back at the group of friends who just stared in amusement. 'Shit,' she thought. "I um…yesterday. I'm here on…business." She stated. It technically wasn't a lie.
She heard Bella and Dick snicker to themselves.
Meanwhile, April could tell she was lying. She just nodded, "What kind?"
Neil suddenly jumped in, "She's touring with us. We're in an off-broadway show."
April sucked in a breath, "Broadway? Wow, you really made it didn't you?"
Lillian looked away, feeling her tone suddenly shift. "Um…yeah, I don't… I mean, it's not really… It's just something…" She cleared her throat, really wanting to change the subject. "We should catch up on everything." She said before even thinking.
"I was just thinking that. What's your number?" April took out her phone and handed it to Lillian.
Lillian smiled at the shell-shaped phone, her mind flooded with memories that she had forced herself to forget. Her eyes once again filling up with tears. She put in her phone number and then handed the phone slowly back to April.
April's smile wavered for a moment when she saw Lillian's eyes gloss over. She suddenly felt bad, she didn't know why, but the feeling was almost overwhelming. "Thanks," She said, taking her phone back. "We'll keep in touch," She said before holding out her arms for an embrace.
Lillian, at first, was apprehensive but soon held out her hands and wrapped them around her childhood friend.
April pulled away, "You smell so good."
"Thank you," Lillian laughed.
Before she left, "It's really nice seeing you again."
"It's nice to see you too," Lilly said softly.
April gave her a small wave before going back to her cart and walking away, "Nice meeting you all."
Lillian just watched her leave the isle. Once she was gone she held a hand to her head and sighed. "I didn't want her to know I'm on tour."
Neil frowned, "Oh I'm sorry, babe. I didn't know it was a secret."
"Speaking of secrets," Dick began, an amused smile played on his mouth. "When were you going to tell us you went to high school in New York?"
Lillian stiffened, "There's a lot you guys don't know about me and a lot I don't feel like talking about." She went over to the bottle of tequila and picked up two. "I'm going to need a bottle to myself." As nice as it was seeing her, Lilly found herself hoping this was the last time they'd run into each other. As nice as it was seeing April again, Lilly couldn't help but worry about where this was going to lead. With April, comes...the past. If there was one thing Lilly was an expert at now, it was avoiding the past.
Now it looks like it caught up with her and she didn't know if she was prepared for it.
Just to clear up something, Bella is her name and her nickname is Bell, his name is Richard his nickname is Dick. My friend was reading it back and was wondering if it was a mistake-anyways...
Lilly is back, first day back and she already met April again. Now she has a lot to catch up on. I think we all do, huh? She's engaged, doesn't look like she's excited or is she? April and the guys are normal *wink wink* and Raph has a girlfriend? Yeah, remember how the show ended. I'm incorporating that into this story like did in the last fic.
Let me know what you guys think! I want to finish writing a couple more chapters before I post chapter 2. For the most part, the chapters in this story will be shorter than the chapters I posted in the first fic. But I'll try to make them to the point for the most part.
Be nice, please! Okay, see you guys in the next one ;)
