'Snowkit…'

Snowkit blinked open her eyes, drawn immediately to the thickset gray tail that lay before her muzzle. It flicked slightly as Snowkit's ears picked up light snoring from behind her, Snowkit turned her head to look over her shoulder at the gray she-cat who was curled up around her. Her flatten muzzle had one tooth poking from the corner of her mouth, her eyes closed as her face looked worn.

Snowkit looked back at the gray tail in front of her, and she wriggled her haunches before pouncing onto the tail. She turned around, and the she-cat was slightly stirred but didn't open her eyes. Just flicked her tail out of Snowkit's grasp, and her front half flopped onto the ground. Snowkit smirked and crept silently towards the tail once again, wriggling her haunches and pouncing again. The tail moved instantly, and Snowkit flopped on her ground.

Snowkit looked over her shoulder again; the gray she-cat seemed to still be asleep. She prepared for another leap, her eyes transfixed on the fluff of gray just a tail length away from her nose. Her eyes did not sway as she prepared for another pounce, a swift leap into the air and she landed on her target; holding onto it as she gently nipped at it with her teeth. Still the she-cat seemed to be asleep, and Snowkit just held onto her tail.

Snowkit flicked her tail, and she puffed out her chest. Lifting her head in pride as she held onto the she-cat's tail, with the she-cat still well asleep behind her none the wiser.

Then a deep purr rumbled from behind her, and Snowkit's eyes were drawn to the narrow slits of amber from between the gray she-cat's eyelids. They slowly opened all the way as the gray she-cat held her head up. Snowkit watched the gray tail free itself easily from under her grasp and she sat there on the moss. "Good morning, deary."

Snowkit smiled as the gray she-cat smiled back at her, she bounded over to stand beside her. "Good morning!" she mewed, her head still held up high. But her eyes were drawn to the impenetrable wall of light on one side of the den; she prowled forward, her nose twitching uncontrollably. But the gray she-cat dragged her back into her grasp. "Not yet, little one."

"What's beyond there?" snowkit asked.

"The rest of the clan."

"Can I go see the clan?"

"Not yet, it… can be a little overwhelming..."

Snowkit nodded, but she still tried to stray away towards the wall. The gray she-cat held her close though, a rough… sandpaper tongue rasped over Snowkit's head and back. and she mewed out a complaint as the she-cat began to organize her fur, and snowkit just sat there spewing out complaints every so often. Her eyes drawn to the corner of the camp, sitting there was a blue eyed white she-cat with black ear tips and freckles under her eyes and over the bridge of her muzzle. "Who is that?"

"Who is what?"

"That, over there!"

The gray she-cat turned her head in the direction of the corner, her mouth open to taste the air. She shook her head. "I don't see anything."

Snowkit tipped her head, the white she-cat dipped her head and she faded away into stars. Snowkit tipped her head to one side, but the gray she-cat went back to running her tongue over Snowkit's fur. Snowkit rolled over onto her back and began pawing at her muzzle, trying to get her to stop. But the gray she-cat continued to run her tongue, and Snowkit just lay there as her head was cleaned.

Snowkit tilted her head back as a dark shape entered the den, a large dark brown tabby tom stood there. His amber eyes staring down at her, before he pressed forward inwards. "So… how is she doing then?"

"It's far too early to assess."

"I need answers, Yellowfang."

"All in good time, now quiet… she's listening."

Snowkit tipped her head as she stared upside down at the tom, who just continued to glare down at her before leaving the den. Snowkit titled her head back to normal as the gray she-cat, Yellowfang, retreated her head to look down at her work. "Your eyes look so beautiful, darling."

Snowkit smiled, but the cold washed over her and she shivered. Yellowfang held her closer to her thick fur, and warmed Snowkit in the smoky smelling fur of the gray she-cat.

Snowkit felt something run down from her nose, and she felt herself sneeze. Her head jolting downwards, before launching back upwards in one quick motion.
