"I bet ya five galleons you don't succeed", James spat at Sirius.

"Theres no way McGonagall would give YOU, of all people, a second glance. An 18 year old want-to-be Auror!"

"That's where you're wrong, Prongs, my boy! My plan WILL work, and before you know it I'll have McG in the sack before you can say Quidditch!" Sirius gave James a squeeze on his shoulders, "come on, we've got some research to do!" He said pulling the Marauders map out of his back pocket and put it on the table. He planned to use it to spy on his professor. He wanted to know who her friends were, where she went in her spare time, and when she was in her chambers, more specifically, what she was doing in her chambers.

"You realize this is beyond terrible… what you're going to do to Professor McGonagall. Wagering over whether or not you can get her in the sack! Have you no propriety?"

"Remus Lupin, got a bit of a soft spot for McG, have we?" Sirius placed his hands over his heart and was now fluttering his eyes and making a motion as if to mimic a beating heart.

"As a matter of fact I do. The woman has helped you become one hell of an an animagus, Padfoot, solely so you can keep a close eye on ME during my… difficult times. Now, you are going to disrespect her in such a way? Usually I'm all for good fun, I don't want you to think of me as a spoil-sport, but I really do think you should rethink this."

"Ah, bollocks! I hate to admit it but Moony has a point," James interrupted the two, "She has helped us a ton this year. What if we pick a different target?"

"That's not the point, Prongs! No matter who is the -target- as you say, it's terrible to wager over a subject like this." Remus threw his hands up in annoyance.

Peter, per usual, was drowned out by the three very large personalities and could only sit on the sidelines and listen to the friends quarrel. He did think to himself that it was inappropriate, but also couldn't help but think it would definitely be a scandal for a student to seduce a professor….

"Wormtail! Oi! Wormtail! What do you think, aye?" Sirius was trying to snap him out of what was almost like a trance, "Oi! Mate! Do you agree with Prongs and me or do you agree with Moony?"

"Well, Moony has a point. She's one of the only professors to help us, and is actually tolerant of us" he looked from Remus over to Sirius, "but imagine the praise you'd receive after telling your story all about how you landed McGonagall in the sack!"

Peter of course thought about the praise he would receive after turning over the scandal to the headmaster… he would certainly grant him at least 100 points and his house would win… all because of him. He'd be the class hero…. Everyone would love HIM.

"Well! It's settled. Three against one, Remus. Sorry, mate!"

Remus gave a scowl, shook his head in disapproval and went back to eating his pudding.

Sirius stayed quiet for the remainder of lunch.

Remus did have a point.

Professor McGonagall had found out about Remus' condition and requested they'd stay after class one day. They all thought he'd be expelled instantly for the safety of the students but she had offered them aid and kept the bit of information to herself. Professor McGonagall, being such good friends with Madame Pompfrey, asked for her discretion and retrieved them Wolfsbane potion for his condition. She then offered to give them extra Transfiguration lessons so the lot of them could transform into anything they'd need to to keep a closer eye on Remus in his state.

As much as Sirius had turned this into a wager, the truth was, during those extra Transfiguration lessons he'd grown an attraction to his much older professor. Without admitting it, and possibly being the butt of jokes from his mates, he turned it into a wager between them. He knew that it would probably come back to bite him, but it was a chance he was willing to take. He needed- wanted- to get close to Professor McGonagall.
