Chapter 1
Percy
Today was the best day ever. Yesterday was also the best day ever. In fact every day I've had since Annabeth and I had started being together has been the best day ever!
Annabeth and I are going to start college in 2 days and we are super excited...well I am excited. Annabeth is currently having a mental breakdown about what to wear and getting ready. Me, I couldn't care less about that stuff. Annabeth already picked out clothes for me, worried that I would pick "the stupid ones" as she called them.
The weather was sunny and life was going pretty well for me. Finally, the Gods aren't torturing Annabeth and me with quests and journeys. I still haven't gotten the Tartarus smell out of my head.
But, I am still so thankful that I have Annabeth. She is basically the best girl I've ever met. We've been able to relax well over the summer. I don't get bad dreams as much as before and when I do get them they're like mortal bad dreams. The worst I've gotten yet is me falling into Tartarus alone without Annabeth. But that'll never happen!
"Hey, Seaweed Brain! Come here!" I walked to her. "What's up?" I asked. "Racheal's coming over tomorrow to help me pack. Is that okay?" "Totally!" I answered. Annabeth and Racheal have been pretty nice to each other after the whole dating part.
I looked at Annabeth. "Wow!" I exclaimed. "What are you are dressed up for?" She responded shyly, "I thought we could go down to the park tonight for dinner. After all, it's our last night until we need to leave for college!" "Ok!" I said happily. I love picnics with Annabeth. It reminds me of Camp Half-Blood.
At dinner, we sat down at the park. Annabeth looked nervous. "What's up," I asked, "you look nervous." "Oh sorry," Annabeth said. She continued, "I really don't want to worry you because we've been doing so good lately."
I squeezed her hand tightly. "You can tell me anything," I said reassuringly. "Ok, um...ever since Tartarus I've been getting a weird feeling. I feel alone, but I know I'm with you. I feel like if you ever go away then I will be gone too. I know it's stupid and that I should just enjoy our time together, but I just feel different. Do you understand?"
I tried to think of what to say. "Um… you know you have me and I will always be here for you, Annabeth. I will never leave you alone. Remember we promised that we would never leave each other again. I stay true to my promises." I kissed her on the cheek. She hugged me and cried. "You are the best boyfriend ever," she said happily.
All of a sudden Annabeth screamed. I looked up and saw a glowing figure in our path. Next to him was a chariot. "Sorry to interrupt," he said "but we have serious business to attend." I punched the ground. "Seriously!" I yelled, "Why do you always have to interrupt our business!"
Annabeth put her hand on my shoulder. "We better see what he wants," she said quietly to me. She turned to the glowing figure. "What are we needed for Lord Hermes?"
