There was a disoriented feeling of free falling.
That was okay. The wind was his friend. The sky was his turf.
There was a heavy weight on his back. It felt strange. His wings never weight this much for him before.
He tried to move his wings.
The keyword was tried.
He couldn't move them. Why?
He panicked for a moment and there was a loud yell from below him.
"Holy shit!"
"Someone catch him!"
There was a various exclamation of surprise in an alarmed voice and scared tone from the people below him.
No. It wasn't the time for him to panic. The people below him were panicking. He needed to comfort them. He needed to help them. He needed to save them. He was a hero first and foremost.
Why couldn't he move his wings?
"Keigo!" A voice shouted above all the other voices. A familiar voice.
That's weird. He was always Hawks to the society. Only the top people in the commission knew his real name. The commission kept all their agents' name and past a secret after all.
Who?
Before he could ponder about it again, there was a crack and a snap.
His head felt like it split apart and blood fell to his eyes, blurring his vision.
People were crowding him and someone was cradling his body.
"Call an ambulance! Hurry!"
Shit. He was causing an unnecessary panic. The commission was going to be mad at him again. Damn it.
A course of soaring pain was going through his entire body and he bit his lips.
Don't scream. Don't even hiss in pain. That would just cause an unnecessary amount of panic on the crowd.
"Keigo. Stay with me. You will be fine." Someone, a male, said urgently to him, like he was trying to convince the both of them that he was going to be fine.
He tried to speak, trying to utter words of comfort to that person, but no sound came out.
He was mercifully back in the land of unconsciousness once again.
When he woke up in the hospital bed with a fresh bandage on his head and ribs, an iv line inserted on his right arm, a cast on his other arm and both legs, his heart was thundering inside his chest and blood was roaring hot in his ears.
No. Not because of the various injuries on himself. Getting hurt was normal in this line of duty.
One. He couldn't feel his wings. The familiar weight of his red wings was gone. Did he lose all his feathers in a recent battle? Why couldn't he remember? His head was pounding badly.
Two. There was a villain sleeping near him, both hands folded on his bedside, acting as a pillow for his head.
Not just any villains.
League of Villains' Dabi. One of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front.
He threw his head to the side and puked out anything left in his stomach violently on the floor, startling awake the other occupant in the white room.
A hand was immediately on his back. Shit. The villain was going to burn him alive while he was puking his gut out.
No blue fire came out. The villain simply rub a soothing circle on his back while he heaved, spitting the rest of the bile left in his mouth.
"Better? Here. Drink this. I'll call the doctor." The pyromaniac said while putting a glass of water on his functional hand and pressing a button near his bed.
Fuck. His grip on the glass was probably hard enough to make it crack, a cold fear settling itself inside him. They were going to turn him into a Noumu.
"Hey, Dabi. Listen, I-" Hawks didn't get to finish his sentence, an incredulous look from Dabi silenced him.
"Dude! We are not even on the set anymore. You are way too much into your work sometime, Keigo." Dabi said while shaking his head.
… What?
"What do you mean by that? How do you know my name?" Hawks asked him in a tight voice.
Was there a traitor in the commission? Did someone sell his data to the villain?
There was a real confusion in Dabi's eyes.
"Not exactly the kind of joke I expect from you." Dabi said while looking at him weirdly.
There was a polite knock on the door before it was opened and a guy entered the room.
"What's with the smell? Did someone just throw up here?" The guy asked while wrinkling his nose.
"He did. I already called the doctor. He should be on his way." Dabi said while pointing at him with his thumb.
"You should wash out your make up. The doctor will probably be creeped out with that appearance."
"Okay. Give me a moment." Dabi said while disappearing into the bathroom.
"So, how are you feeling? You look really terrible." The new guy asked him while sitting on his bedside and placed the basket of fruits that he brought with him on the nearby table.
"Who are you?" A villain? An accomplice of Dabi? A member of the Paranormal Liberation Front?
The question gave the other guy a pause.
"Real funny, Keigo." He said with a dry tone.
Okay. Since when did everyone know his real name? Who was this guy?
"Right? He pull one on me too earlier. He asked me how did I know his name and he called me Dabi."
The guy emerging from the bathroom couldn't possibly be Dabi. He looked too different from the villain. There was no staples and scars on him. His hair was white and he was wearing a stylish glasses.
Hawks starred at him.
The other guy laughed a bit. "what's with that, Keigo? You are way too much into your character. Next you will be calling me Shigaraki Tomura or something."
Hawks turned his head and looked at the other guy right dead in his eyes.
"Are you?" He asked sharply.
That gave the other guy another pause and he looked at him weirdly.
"Well, I am the actor playing him. Just like you are the actor playing Hawks. And Touya is the actor playing Dabi." The guy said slowly in an even tone to him.
