Hey guys! I had a really strange idea for a story. Please let me know if you like it. I don't really know where I'm gonna go with it, so I would to hear your ideas. This is all 3rd person omniscient for the most part.

Update: sorry made a few changes and corrections and more to come. I have changed the story around a little to make it better. Thanks for the feedback in messages.

There he was. Hurting and in pain. There was nothing she could do as the person she loved the most in the world died in front of her eyes. It had been minutes, no hours, since his death but she couldn't let him go. Her grip on his frail, pale body wouldn't loosen. The people around her wanted to respect her but at the same time they needed to separate her from this cold, dead body.

"Olivia." A nurse called out to her. "Please, you need to let him go." Olivia just ignores her. She wouldn't let her son go. He was the only person she had ever truly loved.

"You have to let him go."

Olivia wakes up quickly with sweat dripping down her face and neck. Her nightmares had only been getting worse and no matter how much she talked about it or expressed her feelings, nothing would help her get better. She constantly thought about what she could've done, should've done, to help him.

"Olivia." A voice says softly to her right. Olivia sits up to see Amanda staring at her. Her bright blue eyes piercing in the dim light of the morning. She could see the tears in the younger woman's eyes.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Olivia whispers quietly. Amanda looks down at her stomach.

"It hurts a lot and it's been getting worse since last night. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I just...didn't want you take me to the hospital and it be nothing again. I wanted to be sure." Amanda reluctantly admits. Amanda wasn't one to share her true emotions or feelings easily.

"Amanda. You don't need to hide your pain from me. I'll take you the hospital a hundred times if you need. I'd rather have that than you get hurt. Turn the other way." Amanda does allowing Olivia to move herself behind her to give her the comfort that she craves. Olivia rubs the very swollen, baby bump to try and calm her. It was a very intimate thing but Amanda didn't really seem to mind.

"I don't think I can do this." Amanda painfully admits in a whisper. The tears she was holding back finally spring forth. Olivia feels an ache in her heart. She cares so much for Amanda and hates to see her in pain; emotional or physical.

Amanda cried as he held her down and did what he wanted. She knew better than to fight back. He had control over her and she wasn't going to go against his authority. He insisted on trying to 'put a baby in her.' He was so rough with her that sometime ago she had started bleeding, but he didn't really seem to care and he just kept pounding her mercilessly. The bruises that littered her body were so painful and every time he would move, he would agitate them. There was nothing she could ever do to stop him. This was her life now. Doing what he wanted.

"Im here. You won't have to do this alone. And no matter what you decide to do, I will always support you." There is a moment of silence and then she feels Amanda's body become less tense in her arms. "Do you think we should go now or wait a little while longer?" Olivia asks.

"I don't know...The contractions aren't close at all and I know that they would just send us home because my water hasn't broken. They said that I had to wait until I am 3-1-1." Amanda was about to explain when a contraction hit her.

"I know, honey. 3 minutes apart and and at least a minute long for one hour. We should really start timing them, honey. It will help." Amanda just shakes her head. Olivia knows she is just being stubborn because of the pain that she's in. Olivia rubs gentle circles on her back for a while, allowing her to quickly fall back asleep. Olivia waits until she is sure that Amanda is completely asleep before getting up. As she steps out, she sees the room next to theirs slightly ajar. She slowly pushes the door open. As she steps in, the bright colors completely overwhelm her. They had painted the room a pale pink color to cover up the navy blue color that was there. It was stereotypical but she didn't care. Blue for a boy and pink for a girl. They had no need for the room to be blue anymore. Her chest started to get tight. She couldn't do it. She knew she had to do this. Just think of Amanda, she told herself. She took a deep breath to try and calm herself down. All she needed to do was check the hospital bag to make sure everything was packed and then she could leave the room and go on with her day. She wanted to check it and make sure that it had everything they would need. As she checked it she went through a list in her head. There were clothes for Amanda, a few baby outfits, a bottle, a pacifier, socks, mittens (to protect the baby from scratching themselves), nail clippers, medical papers, diapers, wipes, and a few other things for Amanda. The car seat was also in the car already, so that they wouldn't have to worry about it. Olivia was extremely excited but she knew Amanda wasn't that happy about it, so she didn't want to show her feelings to Amanda. She picked up a framed picture of Noah off of the short white dresser that housed baby items. She held it in her hands and held it close to her chest before placing it back down. Olivia picked up the bag and moved it to the front door. Amanda cried out from the next room causing Olivia to quickly run to her aid.

"What's wrong, honey? What hurts?" The pet names had become routine for them. It didn't mean much for Amanda but it meant everything for Olivia. Of course, Amanda was nothing but a roommate to her but she desperately wanted it to be more. Amanda just groans and begs for Olivia to come help her manage the pain. Of course, Olivia complies and sits by her side. She embraces Amanda to try and help her through the contraction. Olivia plants a small kiss on Amanda's glossy forehead and Amanda just pulls away.

"Please make him stop. Please. He's hurting me so bad. Olivia, please stop him." This happened a lot. Flashbacks, moments of her not knowing where she was or who she was with. She would assume that she was back with the man that hurt her all those months ago. Olivia always tries her best to calm her down but this was also a good way for Amanda to talk about what happened. Amanda had given the most basic details on what happened and Olivia respected her decision to do so but something in the back of her mind told her that she needed to know what that bastard did to her.

"What's he doing, sweetheart?" She asks cautiously.

"His hands are inside of me and...it hurts. He won't stop. Olivia please make it stop." Amanda cries out still fighting the demons in her head.

"I'm here. He's not here right now. He's gone, honey." Amanda just closes her eyes.

"Oh god. It hurts so bad. Please make the pain go away but don't leave me. If you leave, he will kill me." Amanda says. Olivia just sighs and waits for this to pass. She knows it won't last long. She just has to talk her through it. Amanda slowly started to relax and realize where she was. After a minute of holding Amanda, She feels a wet spot underneath her leg. She looks to see a clear liquid stain under Amanda.

"Sweetheart. I think your water broke." Olivia says to her gently. Amanda's eyes fill with tears and she slowly stands up. "We should go now. Let's change your pants quickly and we will leave." Olivia helps her change into a different pair of sweatpants. Amanda goes by the door and waits for Olivia to clean up a little. Olivia comes out of the room with her keys in hand and grabs all of the needed items for the hospital.

They had managed to get the hospital with no issues. Amanda's contractions were still pretty far apart and when they got her into the birthing room, they gave her Pitocin to try and make her contractions come faster since they didn't seem to be progressing much. Hours had gone by and they slowly became stronger and more painful. They tired many different things. Walking, stretching, and even an exercise ball but nothing seemed to be working to help Amanda's pain lessen. The doctor walks into the room with a big smile on her face, trying to keep the energy happy and calm.

"Okay Amanda. You've been putting it off for a while but I do need to check how much you've dilated. It's really important. We have to see if you're ready to push." The doctor sits on the edge of the bed after putting on a fresh pair of gloves.

"Can we please wait? I don't want to have to keep doing it over and over again. It hurts so much." The doctor sighs.

"I'm sorry but we really can't. We've been waiting for quite a while now and it's not protocol but I wanted you to feel comfortable. It's really important that we do it now." Amanda groans as the doctor get into position at the edge of the bed. She spreads her legs and grants the doctor access. The doctor lubricates her fingers and then pushes in her pointer and middle finger. Amanda tries to pull her hips away in an attempt to stop the pain. Olivia grabs her hand instantly.

"It's okay. I know it hurts but it's gonna be quick and then we will know." Olivia says to try and assure her. The doctor removes her hand.

"Good news. I think we can start pushing now. You're about a 10." Amanda let's out a sigh of relief. The doctor smiles and starts to prep things around her. She goes and let's a few of her other nurses know that it's time for Amanda to push.

"Olivia. I can't do this. I'm so scared. Please. Let's just go home. We can do this at home." Olivia holds back a chuckle, trying not to be insensitive.

"You know we have to do this here. We're all here for you and we're not going to let anything happen to you. She said that you can lean on me. I'll sit behind you and you lay back on me. I'll be right here with you. It's gonna be okay." Amanda nods. The doctor comes in and lifts up the stirrups on the bed. A few other big machine-like medical items are brought into the room. Olivia helps the younger woman sit up so she can lay behind her. Once they are in position, the doctor asks what would be most comfortable for her.

"So, I was thinking, you might like to have Olivia help hold your legs when you push. She can hold your knees back and we can have a nurse step in at any time to help. And when you aren't pushing, I still want to have an unobstructed view, so you can put your feet back down into the stirrups." Amanda nods letting her know that it was going to be okay. The doctor sits down on the stool and waits. Another contraction hits and Amanda tenses up. A nurse helps her open her leg and Olivia holds the other one back.

"Okay Amanda. I want you push through this contractions." Amanda screams and pushes until the contraction is over.

"Good job. You're doing good." Olivia whispers to her and let's her leg go, so that she can relax it. Hours and hours go by of Amanda pushing but nothing much is moving along.

"Olivia. I'm really tired. I can't do this anymore. Please make it stop." Olivia rubs Amanda's hair feeling perspiration all throughout. Amanda feels a contraction and sits up. "Ow! I can to do this. It hurts!" A sharp pain fills Amanda's lower abdomen and she screams.

"Amanda, honey. I want you to try and relax." Olivia says softly. Amanda's heart rate monitor starts beeping uncontrollably and so did the babies heart rate monitor.

"She's Tachycardic and the baby is too. What should we do " A nurse asks a doctor. Just as the doctor is about to say something, a nurse interrupts her. "She's bleeding." The doctor quickly jumps into action. She grabs a bunch of towels out of a cabinet and places them between Amanda's legs to try and catch someone of the bleeding. Amanda cried out as the pain got stronger. The doctor waves for Olivia to come off of the bed and she does.

"Okay. Amanda. I believe you are hemorrhaging and that obviously isn't good for the baby. You're going to need an emergency c-section, so we can see what is going on. Do you want Olivia in there room with you?" Amanda nods. Amanda grabs hold of Olivia's hand as an oxygen mask is placed around her head.

"I need you to come with me. You have to get ready." A nurse says trying to move Olivia along. She tries to pull away from Amanda's hand but Amanda's won't let go. Amanda is sobbing and hyperventilating and she couldn't just leave her like that. She couldn't let this happen again. "Please. Come on." The nurse says. Olivia pulls away from Amanda's hand to follow the nurse. Amanda tries to call out for Olivia but shes already fine. She screams and tries to get the nurses away from her. They're words meaning nothing to her. Everything after those moments were a blur.

I wrote this at like 2AM and I suck at editing myself. I usually just read right over any errors. Please tell me if something doesn't make sense and I can try my best to clear it up or change the story. Anyway, thanks for much for reading. I suck at stories so please tell what you liked and didn't like so I can try and improve for next time.

Update: hey, thanks so much for the loving comments. They literally made me cry. Like fr. I really worked hard on this story and being dyslexic doesn't help. Anyway, I didn't realize that the italics didn't show up. Sorry about that. I have also added in some date to make the story work better. Please let me know what you think.
